I recently purcahsed new luggage and checked these out thoroughly, but ended up going with the Travelpro Crew 9 21 and 25 spinners instead (for less money). These are nice suitcases that seem durable, light, and very practical with the choice of compartments. They roll much nicer than some of the cheap Samsonite luggage, but no better than other luggage I tried at the same price point.

I wanted to review these mainly because I noticed the 21" seemed too big to qualify as a carry-on. While the body of the 21" suitcase is indeed 21", the total height was a few inches more because the wheels are not counted as part of the 21". The airline I was using for my trip had posted that the max height and width allowed were 22" x 14". This accomodated the Travelpro 21" (and most other 21" luggage), but not the Samsonite 21", which was more like 24" x 15".

I would recommend these if you like the look and don't plan to carry-on the 21" piece.

Love these suitcases. First off they look really nice, super classy. They are also very easy to roll. Went recently on a vacation with a baby so we had many things to carry, including baby stroller etc, so was very convenient that they were so easy to roll. made traveling a whole lot easier. Didn't disappoint,

doesn't feel like a real Samsonite. The handles are flimsy and the wheels are misaligned so you almost have to drag them as opposed to pulling or pushing on the wheels.

I bought these on sale for $125. At that price they are a bargain -- I don't know that I'd pay $330 for them. They've only been used once so far but they made the journey as checked luggage and came out in good shape. Inside they are functional but nothing special - what you see in the pictures is what you get. The wheels are pretty small and obviously exposed but like I said they made it through one cycle of airport luggage handlers without breaking.

Like this luggage but only if you can get it on sale. I got a great deal at Christmas. The bags are great and are very light but the small one is actually a little too large for a carry on. If they make you test the size it won't fit. The rollers stick out too far. However, everywhere we have gone so far they have let us take it on. (United,AA & Southwest)

The zipper on the large piece broke at the first trip. This set is too fragile and does not live up to the Samsonite name.

Original post: The wheels on our old luggage exploded on our last trip so we bought two sets of this luggage. They're very lightweight which might be why people think they're not quality items. They come with a 10-year warranty so Samsonite must have faith in them. The wheels are awesome. They flow over every surface we tested them on effortlessly. Can't wait to try them out especially with the 50 lb. airline limits. The old suitcases were very hard to keep under the 50 lb limit because they (by themselves) are heavy. We bought the Spinner 21/Spinner 25 sets. I was afraid to go to the next size up for fear they wouldn't meet the airline size limits. I gave them 5 stars although we haven't put them through the rigors of the airport baggage handling system yet.
UPDATE May 2015: The 21" Spinner did not meet carry on size for American Airlines when you take the wheels into account. I ended up buying another Delsey carry-on to meet size restrictions and it's a much nicer bag than the Samsonite bags. The Samsonite bags held up to the baggage handling just fine. I was disappointed, though, when I discovered that the elastic straps on the inside of the bags kept coming apart. There is a button on the clasp so that when any pressure is put on the outside of the bag, the clasp comes apart. Seems like a stupid design. We ended up having to put another strap through the elastic straps to keep them from popping open. Took away 2 stars.

I ordered this set of suitcases kind of as a whim for my husband as it was one of the Daily Deals on Amazon before Christmas. The price seemed right, and I was surprised that Samsonite was offered at such a reasonable price. My husband loves this set, and it is both lightweight and roomy enough to replace his previous set (which did not have roller wheels and is much heavier). This is an excellent value. We have only used the luggage once to date, and the quality seems to be in line with other Samsonite products.

QUALITY
This two sets is definitely what you need for travelling. Although it is not as rigid as those hard shell cases, it is still strong enough to hold and protect your items. I'm not sure how long they are gonna last because I haven't been using it for a long time.

SIZE
The suitcases have standard size, whereas one should be carry-on, one should be checked in.

WEIGHT
Very light. You can easily lift two empty cases together with one hand.

PACKAGE
Very well packaged. Well, they are packages themselves so why worry about packaging... lol. The small case comes inside the bigger case.

OVERALL
I would definitely recommend buying these if you are looking for set of luggage. Given the price, I don't think you would find any other better deals either.

First it arrived in perfect condition and timely as I packed that night and the next day for an 18 day trip. The luggage met almost all of my needs the only thing that I would have liked that this set did not have was broad strap keepers to hold everything in place. This would have been helpful and would have reduced some wrinkles. It did meet all of my other requirements and I look forward to many years of service with this set.
