Samsonite Compact Luggage Cart

I bought this samponsite compact luggage cart to use with my daughters car seat while traveling through the airport. It worked GREAT! With the latch system for carseats I was able to connect the car seat right to the luggage cart, and she was able to sit right in her seat and be wheeled around while in the airport. Then when we got on the plane I simply took the car seat off of the cart and it folded up nice and small and was able to be stowed away under the seat. This product was great!

This appears to be reasonable for someone shorter than me (a not so very tall 6 foot 1 inch). As it is, it is just too short to be comfortable to use. If I stand such that the handle is meeting more than the last joint of my fingers, the cart is standing almost upright and is prone to fishtailing and jerking along in this configuration. I was surprised to see that there was not another sliding element to provide adjustable length.

I would have been satisfied (I think) with its construction, but this limiting design doesn't permit me to use it. It would frankly be just as easy to carry parcels up to 25 pounds rather than subject myself to the knuckle-dragging gait that would be required for me to drag them in this cart.

I use this luggage cart to carry several briefcases. It works perfectly. The straps are not bungee cords, but rather adjustable straps. The straps work great in keeping several items in place while moving. The construction of the luggage cart is quite sturdy and strong. Great product!

This is a very sturdy little cart and folds easily for storing. Amazon sells 2 models of this cart. I chose this one b/c it holds more weight than the other one. BUT the strap for securing the luggage to the cart is a major PIA. It's adjustable but does not stay adjusted and readjustment is very tedious. I'd suggest buying this cart but also using a common bungee cord for securing the luggage.

We bought this to use as a car seat carrier, and for that it was a little cumbersome. The straps on it are not the best. I would probably use bungee cords next time. It took more time to get it all attached just right between flights than I would like, but luckily we were not in a hurry. And even when all strapped in I would not have my son ride in the car seat- it just did not feel stable enough for that. If you're using it for luggage it is probably just fine.

The photo of this product needs to be updated because it does not match the delivered product. The photo shows bungee cords with metal hooks to attach to the handle. The delivered product has adjustable straps with a plastic hook to attach to the handle. My old one lasted 8 years with daily use 10 months out of the year. I am concerned that the plastic hook will not last as long.

I travel extensively and put a lot of load on the cart, often more than 100lbs. The cart shown in the photo has held up for 8 years. That should say it all. Eight year for $19.95 can beat that. Excellent. POST NOTE... the new cart that Amazon will send you will not be the cart pictured (which is the one I purchased 8 years ago). The new cart is gray (not black) and has a strap that is rigid cord not the bungee that works the best. The SPARCO Compact Luggage Cart is what the old Samsonite use to be. Though it probably would hold up I decided to send it back and purchased the SPARCO.

I been using those $16 knock-offs that barely holds 40 lbs for a long time. It's cool that I found this in Amazon.com.

Pro: It looks nicer than my old ones; Brand name is better than the no names.

Con: You have to adjust the nylon ropes everytime. They should of used bungee cords.

I was pricing the actual airport carrier for carseats and it was around $80 if I remember correctly and I needed two for each of our carseats and children, but did not want to pay the heafty price when we weren't going to be doing air travel more than two or three times a year. So, I took a chance on the Samsonite because I saw someone else had used it for their carseat. We haven't actually taken our trip yet, but I was able to use the LATCH system on the carseat to latch it down to the luggage cart and it worked like a charm! It was very snug and secure and I gave my toddler a long ride through the house in her carseat attached to the luggage cart and she thought it was fantastic. (We have the Graco Comfort Sport which is a more streamline smaller carseat...don't know if the Britax carseats would fit on the cart) So, as long as it holds up well (which we will have to wait and see) through the airport then I have to say this was a much more reasonable solution than the actual carseat carrier for airports. It folds up very compact so it will fit under the airplane seat. It's easy to fold and unfold. So far, I'm very happy with the purchase.

I use the Samsonite compact luggage cart for carting arroud thick and heavy lab notebooks that I need to grade. I'm a college instructor. The travel cart has been a great help to me. It has a very sturdy construction. Its very easy to fold and unfold. When folded it takes very little space, so that I can place it in the front passenger leg area in my car. Its not very heavy to carry around when folded. It has sturdy wheels and sturdy chords too (the chords are not bungee chords). I transport at a time 25 to 40 lab notebooks without worrying about breaking the cart or its handle. It is perefct sized for domestic use - neither too big nor too small. All in all I think I'm going to have this travel cart around for a long time and put it to good use.
