If you are going to buy a netbook within a certain price range ($300, $400, etc.), then you need to know they are all pretty much similar. The main differences would be customer service/reliability and if a particular item or company has known failure issues. Everything else is a personal preference - brand loyalty, brand recognition/reputation, availability, colors, etc.
You wouldn't buy it for how much faster or supposedly better it is than another. If you are, then you're in the wrong price range, and shouldn't get a netbook anyway.
So whether you choose a Samsung, an Asus, an Acer, an HP, or a Sony, don't worry, you would be getting all good computers.

So I chose this one mainly for this WowTastic yellow color.

What I love particularly with this netbook other than the color (I also have an Asus 1005PE in white), is a much better feeling keyboard that's a lot easier to type, and the matte screen which eliminates glare, which would be particularly advantageous for outdoor usage.

Performance wise it is like any other netbook - it's perfectly ok for emailing, surfing the net, etc.
I've tried using Photoshop CS5, and it's ok for the first several photos, and then it bogs down and you have to close up some photos or restart the program.
I've also tried using Vuze on it. Just downloading, it's perfectly fine for multi-tasking with another light program. But if you start converting videos, say for PS3 use, then it hogs up all the memory and you can't really run any other program.

The other exotic flavors from Samsung is a sky/baby blue color called Bermuda Blue Samsung N150 10.1-Inch Bermuda Blue Netbook and a Samsung N150 10.1-Inch Flamingo Pink Netbook, just an FYI. :)

I purchased this product from Amazon approximately one week ago and as I sit here in the sunlight in my back yard when I decided I must review this product. I have purchased numerous products from Amazon, but this is the first I felt compelled to comment on. Over the years I have had many PCs and laptops - both personally and professionally and I must say that I am amazed at what Samsung has produced in this netbook. I had been searching for approximately 6-12 months for a netbook I could easily take with me. During this time I began reading reviews and more on all the different products out there until I happened upon this one. That was all it took reading all it had to offer for the price. Here is what I have found in the short time I have owned this product.

Pros: small; portable;lightweight; battery life IS 7 hrs long; non-glare screen (like my Kindle);quick for such a small machine; can easily upgrade the memory to 2G; speakers work extremely well for such a small unit; 3 USB ports, media card reader port, and such a great price for all you do get. I LOVE the color! I could go on and on.

The only con I have found is that I use Skype quite often and it runs low (states my wireless connection is "slow" and recommends plugging it in), but does extremely well when plugged in. This is a minor to me. If you are looking for PC power to do more advanced computing, then obviously this may not be what you are looking for. But that is why I have my PC sitting on my desk inside my home collecting dust right now while I am enjoying the sun.

I just got this little computer this weekend to bring to classes and around campus during the day, so I wouldn't have to haul my considerably heavier and more expensive 14.1 in gateway around. I love it! It does everything that I need from a netbook- internet, basic office stuff, music, etc. I wouldn't use it as a replacement for a desktop/laptop machine- its just to small screenwise to be typing those long late night papers on, but it works great for in class and stuff. Also, a huge bonus is the color- I love that its bright and fun, without being hot pink, which I feel would be a bit too much Elle Woods for me... Overall, I already love it!

I bought this laptop about a month or so ago, and I am loving it! Before getting it I checked out a lot of other ones and read the different reviews. I got some good input and bad. Overall, when buying a new laptop do as I did and go with your own judgement. I am having no problems and the startup was quick, especially with the helpful wizard. Anyway the price is great,,,,,the color is beautiful...the battery life is good,.....the buttons are spaced out just right and the screen is so clear. I could go on and on...but for the most part if you're looking for a new laptop then go with this one. **very trendy and gives a true fashion statement**

Delivery was fantastic; the product arrived @ two weeks earlier than the estimate. The initial setup went OK, but it was like flying in nighttime fog with no instruments, because there were NO instructions! There was a small brochure in about six languages that had general topics, but NOTHING that could remotely be interpreted as an installation guide. I'm hoping things will be on an uphill swing, after I get the additional memory installed (for which there were also no instructions).

This netbook is by far the greatest out there in terms of its style and features. It is very handsome/chic looking netbook inside and outside. The keyboard is much easier to type than other netbooks since this Samsung netbook provides bigger keyboard that nearly matches the regular sized notebooks. The finsh on this netbook is of very high quality and price is excellent. This is my favorite gadget toy now and for a long time.

While it's nice that this machine is very lightweight, I am a bit shocked that I turned it on one day about two months after I bought it and the screen just cracked. I barely touched it. It does seem to have a flimsy build compared to my older Samsung NC10. The trend is to make these things smaller and smaller, but some durability seems to be lost.

Haven't had to deal with the repair/warranty issues yet -- I'll update this once I do.


Other issue : Massive amounts of unnecessary, slowing software to remove --- took me a good 2-3 hours after receiving it to delete all the bloatware on here. Frustrating ... Enough to make me want to switch over to Apple.

This is typical with all netbooks I think. Still, if some company or other would decide to stop installing all this unnecessary bloatware, I would be tempted to switch based on that alone.

Disappointed from the day I got it in the mail. Never quite worked as I expected. Had to upgrade the ram, and will probably end up purchasing the full version of windows. I called tech support about a loud noise that would occur almost daily. Tech support immediately made arrangements for me to send the net book back for repair or replacement. Hope they do the right thing and get it back to me asap. All in all, would not recommend this product.

This model / colour wasn't available in Australia but I was so pleased when I found a way to get it to me. The colour is brilliant (yes that was one of the main reasons I chose it. I know the limitations of netbooks as I used a different brand/model for over a year, but I am very pleased with the Samsung's keyboard size, layout, screen, design, weight, everything. I have even done video editing on it already, so it's processor can handle complex tasks (Ulead Video Studio 11). Highly recommended - ALTHOUGH - I did erase Windows 7 off it and installed XP SP3 over the top of it as that is still what I am most happy using - all XP drivers were available from the Samsung website, as well as Windows 7 drivers, should i decide one day to reset it to it's factory settings. Good price, nice design, known brand, unique colour - 5 stars for me. No built in bluetooth was a bit of a disappointment but I do have a plug in adaptor so I can use that. Enjoy!

The netbook serves the purpose I bought it for, was delivered when expected and I am satisfied.

My fingers are not so good at controlling the buttons and the speed of the computer is faster than my old fingers.

I will be getting a mouse.
