4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, not for shutter glasses, a little wobbly
The colors are really nice on this monitor. We got this for its 120hz refresh rate for use in developing 3d programs.

Biggest issue: I'm assuming that the 3D glasses and setup they suggest will work without this issue, but if you're coming in expecting to use shutter glasses, realize that this LCD monitor will likely cancel out the same type of polarization...

3.0 out of 5 stars missing dvi dual link cable
monitor works fine, great condition no scratches... however i received a single link plain dvi cable which does not work with this monitor!

so include into the cost an extra 10$ to buy an extra cable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, not for shutter glasses, a little wobbly, February 11, 2011
This review is from: Samsung 2233RZ 1680 x 1050 2D and 3D widescreen LCD Monitor (Electronics)
The colors are really nice on this monitor. We got this for its 120hz refresh rate for use in developing 3d programs.

Biggest issue: I'm assuming that the 3D glasses and setup they suggest will work without this issue, but if you're coming in expecting to use shutter glasses, realize that this LCD monitor will likely cancel out the same type of polarization that your glasses want to use. For example, whatever polarization Stereographics CrystalEyes use (same goes for Elsa shutter glasses), when your glasses are on and the monitor is in its normal landscape orientation, the light from the monitor is cancelled out. If you turn the monitor on its side (no stand for it, you'd have to make your own), or if you turn your glasses sideways, it is fine.

Realize I am NOT talking about the 3D geforce vision from Nvidia. If you're not using shutter glasses, you can probably disregard this warning. If you are, be prepared to manufacture your own monitor stand and get used to your monitor being in portrait orientation.

And the note about being wobbly: it seems like it could fall over moderately easily if bumped. Be careful. Overall, a very pretty monitor.

4.0 out of 5 stars No Blu-Ray, not HDCP Capable, January 21, 2010

Just want to let the computing world know that this monitor is not HDCP capable, which means that if you have a Blu-Ray drive on your computer, you will not be able to view Blu-Ray movies on this monitor. Only a few monitors are both 3D and HDCP compliant. I have no other complaints about this monitor. The 3D works just fine and I've had no other issues with it.

3.0 out of 5 stars No a bad monitor but not super, April 17, 2010
This review is from: Samsung 2233RZ 1680 x 1050 2D and 3D widescreen LCD Monitor (Electronics)
I have had the monitor for about two months now and it is a good monitor though a little expensive given its size. The 120hz refresh rate keeps my games smooth and crisp, I have not gotten the 3D Vision kit yet so have not yet tested its 3D capability but am looking forward to it. On the down side the monitor is a little diminutive and the screen is a mat and not the smoother glossy screen that I prefer but this is not a great detractor. Also the support and base are a little flimsy and it is somewhat difficult to adjust, the screen wobbles a little when the table that it is on is bumped. The screen dims when viewed from any angle other than directly in front and it has a somewhat low native resolution. I did have a little difficulty with my machine when installing it but I managed to resolve the problem after some irritation.

Bottom line is that this is an okay monitor for 2D applications and looks very smooth with HD videos but the real selling point for me is this is one of the few 120hz monitors that is compatible with Geforce 3D Vision from Nvidia.

Previously i've had a 1080p 21.5" viewsonic lcd and a 16" viewable viewsonic crt. I was initially nervous making the switch to samsung (even tho there is a viewsonic 120 hz lcd) but i am glad i made this choice. This monitor is just lovely. The perfect size, perfect colors, just all around perfect.

:D don't hesitate to buy this bad boy.

only con is i hear there is this new monitor coming out (think its an acer monitor) or rather it just got released and it is 2ms response time 1080p and 120hz

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for 3d, but overpriced otherwise, April 26, 2009

If you are looking for a monitor to support an Nvidia 3d goggles setup, this is the best monitor available currently. If you are not looking to get 3d goggles running (which requires true 120hz), this is a very overpriced monitor for what you get, larger higher resolution monitors (by Samsung also) are available at a better price. Monitor quality is very good, just overpriced.

5.0 out of 5 stars SUMSUNG + NVIDIA 3D = BEST GAMING INVENTION FOR LAST DECADE!!!, October 15, 2009
By
This review is from: Samsung 2233RZ 1680 x 1050 2D and 3D widescreen LCD Monitor (Electronics)
This monitor is pure greatness!!!! 120hz, 3D, 22" of pure COLOR!!!! Go into your Monitor settings on your display and see what yours can do - probly not 120hz, probly not 3D, definately doesn't look as clean as this "Specialty Monitor" as Sumsung labels it....NOW purchase this badboy toy and get the REAL DEAL!!! This thing is NOT literally a DEAL at the $399.99 MSRP list price nor is this monitor for the everyday worker doin spreadsheets, or even really the internet browser...this is for the Xtreme Gamer or Programmer for BEST viewing capabilities 2DAY!!!!

BUT with the current offering fom nVidia where you buy a 3D monitor and GTX VidCard and you get the 3D Glasses kit for FREE...HELL YES! I jumped on that band wagon and got the EVGA GTX275 896mb for the FREE 3D Glasses Bundle Deal!!! I'm already runnin' 2x BFG 512mb 9800GT OCX Series in SLi Mode...so I basically got the GTX275 for free in my mind :)!!! (which I will use on next PC build during tax season :) The SLi 9800GT's run the 3D flawless on all my games I have attempted at the 120hz 1680x1050 - UT3, Monkey Island - Launch Screaming Narwhal, Wolfenstein (2009), NFS Series, Age of Mythology!!!!

I needed a new monitor and wanted the 3D Glasses ability, so I had to go with the BEST IN THE BUSINESS!!! After all nVidia did base there 3D off of Samsungs Display here, which was the first "Official 3D Monitor"!!! This is my 3rd Samsung monitor I have owned, the other 2 are still workin on my "older" Gaming rigs!!!! I have 2 other decent brand LCD's, but DO NOT compare to Samsungs quality displays!!!
Only thing bad to say bout this monitor is: I suggest an HDMI input, and Higher Res capability (specifically 1920x1080 for "FULL BluRay TRUEHD")

3.0 out of 5 stars Its An Okey Product...., February 18, 2010

I owned this monitor for a month with the 3d vision, after playing Resident evil 5 and other games in 3d this monitor is aren't that good. When enabled 3d device the screen is sluggish and kinda lagging barely can see creating blurry images. Adjusting settings on monitor and graphic card didn't help at all.

Can't really adjust the height of the monitor don't have much option to choose from. I'm planning selling this monitor on craiglist and maybe on ebay for $250 still brad new.

I'm looking forward buying an alienware 3d monitor I heard that one is better than samsung and it has 3ms very fast respond time. If you are looking for cheap 3d monitor this would be the good starter but alienware 3d monitor are more expensive like $499.
