My Tv would not turn on just kept on clicking. This part fixed it. Less than an hour to replace. Saved me $$$.

Like many of the reviewers here, our 42" Plasma randomly began the dreaded "clicking" one afternoon. We'd hoped it was a temporary issue, but the power-cycling did not stop. I began two searches: 1.) for a new television and 2.) a possible fix for the problem at hand. I found both. :)
Since our television's problem sounded SO similar to others' problems who'd found a solution with the purchase of this part, we decided to roll the dice and order it as well. It arrived promptly. One of the tiny plastic supports on the board was snapped off, but we decided returning/reshipping would be more hassle than it was worth. It seemed the board would stay in place without, so in it went. I think the entire process-- removing the old board and installing the new board -- took about 20 minutes. The most time-consuming part of the endeavor was the unscrewing/screwing of the screws. We were smiling pretty big after hitting the power button and seeing the screen turn-on as if nothing had ever happened.
After further reading, I've found that MANY people have had similar issues with their Samsung televisions. This is our second set (the other being an older LCD television/ pc monitor combo) that has had a power failure. Unfortunately, I think this will be our last Samsung purchase until I read of better dependability.

Bought the Samsung 42" Plasma in July 2007. Worked fine until recently when picture would go blank and would start making clicking sounds. Picture would return for awhile and go blank again with the clicking. Finally picture remained blank and clicked. Took a chance and purchased the power supply. Ordered on Thu and received on Tue. Replaced the P/S and all is well again. Actually it took longer to take the back cover off than to replace the P/S. Since I just purchased a new 51", I gave the TV to my bother-in-law who just loves it.

I ordered this part back in April, as my parent's tv was doing the infamous clicking-with-no-picture routine. Replacement and installation probably took 20 minutes, and the TV was back in working order. 7 months on, and it still works great. Very reasonably priced since a new plasma would have been 6 or 7 times the cost of this board.

This part fixed the problem. Tv was shutting down and restarting on it's own. Replacing this fixed it. Everything worked fine.

Had my Samsung 42" plasma since 2007 and really love it despite all the negative product reviews for the TV. I really like the sleekness and picture quality. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I was watching TV and suddenly there was a loud pop and the TV turned off and the series of clicking noises began. Whenever electronic things go awry I begin to sweat...I suddenly turned off the TV and then tried turning it back on. TV came on for a few minutes then again, loud pop, TV off, and the clicking noises.

I quickly unplugged the TV in fear of causing anymore damage and quickly went online to search problems using key words like Samsung plasma, clicking noises, etc. Lots of info on broken capacitors came up and how easy it is to replace. So I take apart the TV, which is really easy by the way, and take off the motherboard. But non of the capacitors looked damaged.

Long story short, instead of trying to figure out which capacitor was dead (which was way out of my technical league) I just started searching for motherboard replacement parts. Found this one, installed it (took less then 10 minutes) and TV is back up and running. It sure beats paying for a new TV and much less expensive than calling to get it repaired.
