5.0 out of 5 stars Samsung DMT300RFS
Classy look with controls on front not top. Child Lock out and simple controls make it easy to run. May not dry dishes as fast machines but be sure to use a rinse aid. the manufacturer says this will help. My dishes are sparkling clean and well rinsed, even crusted ones. Machine performs as advertised. A big plus is the adjustable top rack which is easy to change...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a fan...
Simple enough to install - and runs moderately quiet, cleans fairly well, but has a long cycle (over 2 hrs)... all this is fine, but beware of the pump/filtering/grinder system in these units. Had plenty of issues with stuff getting in there - and because of the "grinder", causes severe noise when it does. We had a plastic lid get down there and didn't know what it was so...

A big plus is the adjustable top rack which is easy to change accommodating a large pot or pitcher on bottom rack or tall stem ware on top. It is a VERY quiet machine. Many great features for the price. Price varies enormously, but watch out for other websites that offer a much lower price, but shipping/handling or in store delivery charge will make a hugh difference EVEN if you pick it up. Installation is straightforward. IF YOU DO THE INSTALLATION YOURSELF: Follow the installation manual! Samsung does not provide an essential fitting (an elbow) required to attach the washer to water source and they do not provide a hose clamp for the DRAIN HOSE. Both of these parts are readily available and the size may depend on your particular installation. NO strain relief device is available for running the power cord into the washers electrical box hook-up. You may need to consider purchasing one of those as well.

We had a plastic lid get down there and didn't know what it was so we called for warranty service because we thought the unit was damaged. Since it was not an actual "repair" (he just had to extract the lid), it cost me $140 for the visit. Baloney. In my opinion, the plastic lid never should have made it down that far in the first place - so it's a design flaw in my humble opinion. This same draining/filtering issue caused another small thing to get caught in the drain tube, and caused all kinds of ridiculous noise as well. We own tons of Samsung stuff - most of which is top notch - this unit I'd stay away from. We originally got the idea to buy a Samsung because the Sears salesman was recommending it - we bought it here on Amazon - I'm here to tell you that this should not be in your kitchen. Stay away!

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Performer, June 19, 2011
This review is from: Samsung : DMT300RFS 24 Energy Star Qualified Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
We purchased our Samsung DMT300RFS after reading good reviews. Our Samsung leaves film and food particles on our dishes. We have tried difference detergents, rinse agents, plate and glass arrangements with no success. Our salesman told us the dishwasher actually washed better when dirty and focused on the power of a built-in garbage disposer. The wash cycle is long, even on the quick cycle. If you want to use the Pots and Pans setting, plan of having the dishwasher run for 3-5 hours. Our dishes never come out dry. If you bump into the machine you will accidentally turn it on. I HATE this dishwasher. We had our Samsung inspected by a factory service technician. He said the dishwasher would perform better if we used a powdered detergent, rinse agent, to run the sink water until hot and then turn on the dishwasher, to clean monthly with vinegar and defiantly, with this model rinse dishes. We did all of the above and still have dirty, filmy dishes. We have always been happy with our Kenmore dishwasher, regret giving Samsung a chance.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good dishwasher at a good price., July 8, 2011

I live in Boquete Panama with good water. I purchased this dishwasher locally at internet prices to replace a Frigidare PLD2850RDC0 whose main board had quit suddenly despite being on a whole house surge protector. This Samsung was relatively easy to install because I had plumbing parts from the Frigidare that I could use. I only had to buy a plug to fit the receptacle in that the Frigidare was hardwired. The old dishwasher would quit if a power outage (common occurence in my area) and would have to be restarted from the beginning. It was also noisy but cleaned well. The Samsung is very quiet, and if a power disruption occurs, it starts where it left off. It cleans dishes well as is but I will try and get some rinse aid if I can find it. Here in Panama electric dish washer soap is sometimes hard to find, so it will be a chore to find the rinse aid. I am very satisfied with this dishwasher. We will see how it stands up during the years. Unfortunately the Frigidare model was discontinued so I could not write a bad review on it to warn purchasers.

UPDATE: I went back to the states the end of October, and when I got back to Panama the dishwasher would not completely fill up and shut down. It took 1 and a half months to get it fixed by a Samsung authorized repairer who had to travel 40 miles to inspect it, order parts from the states, and then replace the parts. They replaced a motherboard and a water sensor. It works fine now. Cost me nothing but inconvenience. Most retailer sell their products here in Panama with a one month warranty. It is up to the manufacturer to provide warranty thereafter. The guy who came up to Boquete was the owner of the service country and very competent. I had a appliance repair license in California so I know. Sometimes warranty and quality of repair are far more important than price. I gave the Samsung dishwasher a five star rating originally, but give it a three star because it failed. I have rental units in Los Osos California and only buy cheap dishwashers because they get destroyed by the tenants. It usually costs more than a new dishwasher to get them fixed.

I would not install any electronically controlled (chip ) appliance without a whole house surge protector.

1.0 out of 5 stars Control panel decals disappear within 3 months -- Big HASSLE, April 15, 2011
This review is from: Samsung : DMT300RFS 24 Energy Star Qualified Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
I will not buy this appliance again. In a month, the decals for the control panel started to rub off from the stainless steel. So, we have to feel our way in order to start the dishwasher! What a hassle! And after one year, still cannot find replacement decals, not even from LOWES where we bought this item.

Kitchen Aid is a better more reliable brand. Don't buy this samsung.

1.0 out of 5 stars Litterally this unit stinks, September 13, 2011
This review is from: Samsung : DMT300RFS 24 Energy Star Qualified Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
Bought this unit a few months back. There has been a horrible stink that will not go away. It also has a unusual sounds from the bottom of the unit when it starts the wash cycle. I have run the sanitize cycle and used cleaning products designed for dishwashers to no avail. Best Buy has been coming out to rectify problems, but to no avail. I am hoping they will replace the unit with another manufaturer.

This review is from: Samsung : DMT300RFS 24 Energy Star Qualified Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
SAMSUNG MAKES THE MOST CRAPPIEST APPLIANCES. WE BOUGHT THE FRIDGE AND THIS DISHWASHER FROM SEARS OUTLET. THE FRIDGE GOT BUSTED IN 3 DAYS AND THE DISHWASHER GOT BUSTED AFTER 2 MONTHS. WE BOUGHT SEARS PROTECTION. THE TECHNICIAN HAS REPLACED OVER 900 DOLLARS WORTH OF PARTS AND ITS STILL NOT WORKING. PLEASE LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE. STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG APPLIANCES.

I LEFT A NEGATIVE REVIEW ON SAMSUNG WEBSITE AND THEY TOOK IT OFF BY SAYING THAT THEY DO NOT ALLOW NEGATIVE REVIEW ON THEIR SITE.
