Progressive scanning creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. The DVD-L300's rugged disc bay ensures that the show goes on no matter how you position the player. Once loaded, discs are locked in position, and the unit's special disc mechanism operates flawlessly from almost every angle.
A screen-inversion control flips the picture 180 degrees so you can mount it upside down, as in the back seat of a car or mini van. Smart Screen brightness control monitors ambient lighting conditions and adjusts the LCD's backlight accordingly, improving clarity and contrast while extending battery life.
Two .125-inch headphone jacks--enhanced by Spatializer virtual surround--accommodate a viewing partner and offer big sound to go with the DVD-L300's big screen. Motion zoom allows extreme magnification of selected screen areas, without distortion, even as the movie is playing.
S-video outputs let you hook the player up with your home television, while its coaxial digital-audio output will channel discrete, 5.1-channel Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound to a range of audio/video receivers and surround speaker setups. An S-video and minijack stereo analog audio input grant hookup options for camcorders, VCRs, game consoles, and other devices.
What's in the Box

Pretty decent product,
This review is from: Samsung DVD-L300 10-Inch Portable DVD Player (Electronics)
This seems to work fairly well, however, I think it's probably a question of price tradeoff vs. the 10" Sony.
Discs are difficult to remove from the slot because there is no "groove" to put your finger in, which I think the Sony does have. Also the battery life is 3 hours vs. 7 hours on the Sony. It does have a button to "reverse display" and turn picture around, which I thought was useful, but now I don't know if I need it. Also, I wish these had a volume control on the remote, but I guess the Sony has the same problem. Conclusion: Get the Sony if your budget & product usage allows it, otherwise this is definitely a good choice when compared to the no name brands.

Beware...,
This review is from: Samsung DVD-L300 10-Inch Portable DVD Player (Electronics)
This DVD Player had problems after I owned it for 8 months. The power supply simply did not want to agree to turn on and after 3 repair shops told me that it was not worth the repair cost I tossed the unit.

I like this player, but it has now failed, and i take it from the other reviews that i am not going to be able to find it worthwhile to repair. I've had it for a year. Very disappointing. It won't read any dvds, not commercially purchased ones, not ones i've burned, nothing, nada, zip. It grunts and grinds for several minutes and then says "disc cannot be read."
