Samsung's affordably priced DVD-S321 DVD-Video player features high-quality component-video outputs, an elegant, titanium-finished front panel, built-in MP3 decoding, and a dual-laser pickup for compatibility with not only DVDs and CDs, but CD-Rs and CD-RWs as well. It even comes with two remote controls--a standard universal remote and a smaller "EZ" remote for basic DVD playback.
Video Features
Motion zoom magnifies selected screen areas without distortion and during real-time playback. Screen Fit lets you inform the player of the appropriate aspect ratio of your TV or monitor (wither standard 4:3 or widescreen 16:9). A boon to dissecting complex sports or action scenes is the player's jog/shuttle dial, which offers intuitive frame scanning as well as forward and reverse search.
The unit uses a 10-bit video digital-to-analog converter to ensure precision playback of high-resolution DVD signals.
Audio Features
In the audio realm, the DVD-S321's phantom surround circuit simulates surround sound through your TV or stereo speakers, while its 96 kHz/24-bit audio converters deliver pristine audio quality from DVDs and CDs.
The back-panel Toslink optical and RCA coaxial terminals each pass a 96 kHz/24-bit audio stream for use with the latest high-end audio recordings (though be aware that your receiver must be able to decode your 96 kHz recordings if you use a digital connection there; otherwise, listen through the unit's stereo analog outputs).
A .25-inch stereo headphone output sports a convenient rotary volume control for optimal listening in private, and 2x audio playback delivers clear, double-time sound for accurate audio cueing of your favorite scenes or songs.
Connections
The DVD-S321 includes a set of left/right analog-audio outputs for compatibility with stereo Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. This unit also supports both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel formats through its digital-audio outputs (one each coaxial and optical) for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver.
The back panel offers one output each for composite-video, S-video, and high-quality component-video.
Other Features
The DVD-S321's advanced navigation system offers additional flexibility in accessing DVD content, while chapter digest generates thumbnail representative scene images, simplifying scene selection. The included universal remote control (with one-touch joystick) operates the DVD-S321 as well as most TVs and VCRs. A second, EZ remote grants basic operational control of the player from a more compact device than the full-featured remote.
Supplied accessories include a composite-video AV cable, instruction manual, EZ remote control, and a universal remote with four AA batteries.

Real User and I LOVE this DVD Player,

This was our first DVD player and I didn't know anything about these things before hand. But as I've tried to do different things with it, I've found out it's a GREAT product. I haven't had it that long (about 4-5 months) so I don't know about durability, but so far so good. You should definately consider that this machine WILL play VCD's and SVCD's. This probably doesn't mean anything to you, so, I'll tell you this, I am able to burn and play home movies in a SUPER high quality format (SVCD). This is basicaly DVD quality on a standard CD-R. No need to get a DVD burner or buy DVD-R's. Buy this and you won't regret it...

Good Player for the price,

This is a good player for the price. I've had no problems with it. The one thing that is not mentioned in the details for the product is the fact that this player also supports VCD and SVCD format which is a very nice bonus.

So far, it has been a very pleasing experience dealing withthis player. I'd recommend it to anyone. You really can't complain or ask for more at that price. I actually like it better than my other DVD player that I spent twice as much on. Not quite sure about the noise problem a Reviewer experienced, because I find this player extremely quiet. The only noise I hear is when the door is opening or closing. While it is playing, there is absolutely no noise emitting from the machine. ...
