This was our first DVD player and I didn't know anything about these things before hand. But as I've tried to do different things with it, I've found out it's a GREAT product.

I haven't had it that long (about 4-5 months) so I don't know about durability, but so far so good.

You should definately consider that this machine WILL play VCD's and SVCD's. This probably doesn't mean anything to you, so, I'll tell you this, I am able to burn and play home movies in a SUPER high quality format (SVCD). This is basicaly DVD quality on a standard CD-R. No need to get a DVD burner or buy DVD-R's.

Buy this and you won't regret it...

This is a good player for the price. I've had no problems with it. The one thing that is not mentioned in the details for the product is the fact that this player also supports VCD and SVCD format which is a very nice bonus.

So far, it has been a very pleasing experience dealing with
this player. I'd recommend it to anyone. You really can't complain or ask for more at that price. I actually like it better than my other DVD player that I spent twice as much on.

Not quite sure about the noise problem a Reviewer experienced, because I find this player extremely quiet. The only noise I hear is when the door is opening or closing. While it is playing, there is absolutely no noise emitting from the machine.

It seems some persons are lucky and receive the noiseless version, this problem si not only with the S321 it happens with other Samsung models too. I opened the player and found that the problem is that the DVD wobles up/down hitting the lens and producing the horrible sound that varies the pitch depending on the part of the movie you are at, I have found no way of fixing it. If you, for some strange reason want to get this player, try it in the shop before leaving to make sure it doesnt make "the noise"

The DVD player itself seems to be very good in quality but it makes a screeching noise while it plays all DVDs. If you keep your volume really loud during playback you'd be fine...otherwise the noise is enough to annoy you.

I returned this player and bought a Panasonic and couldn't be happier.

This player is inexpensive and well-rounded. It plays MP3s very well from the CD-Rs I burn and it does a good job of playing DVDs -- nice picture, especially when using the S-video outputs. One thing I like about this unit is the very easy to use remote control. Unlike many other DVD players, the remote for this player is very well laid out and logical. It is easy to use in a dark room.

This is not a videophile machine, but it does a good job at this price point. If you want a DVD player in your bedroom or den with the ability to play MP3 discs then this may be a perfect choice.

I received this DVD player during the first week of August 2002. It was fairly easy to set up. Today, abput 35 days later I picked up three DVD movies, put one in and it played for about five minutes and that was it. I received the error message: Unable to read disc". "Check disc". I tried the "weak" troubleshooting tip in the manual. No luck. I tried an audio CD and it played fine. The player just stopped playing video DVD's. The player is covered under warranty for one year, but I have to send it to New Jersey. Hardly seems worth it to me. I would NOT recommend this player to anyone.

This DVD player is great! It loads quickly, plays smoothly and even plays MP3 and reads Kodak picture CDs. It alos reads CD-R and CD-RW discs. The setup was simple and the warranty is top of the line. I have no complaints whatsoever about the Samsung S321 DVD player.

I have one and it broke after the first year. After reading the posts, it looks like that's pretty much par for the course. Buyer beware!
