Easy zoom and macro shots with a distance dial

The Digimax A503 offers macro shooting as close as 20 cm. Using its macro shooting capability, you can create a vivid and clear image even for a small subject in a long range. Using its special macro capability, you can create clear, vivid shots even of small subjects at close range.

Powerful video shooting capability
The Digimax A503 supports the high-compression MJPEG format for enhanced video capability. It also lets you shoot a movie clip in VGA at 24 fps and play it on your TV without any degradation of image quality. You can choose the number of frames between 24 and 15 fps as desired. When a 512MB memory card is used, up to 42 minutes of video recording is allowed.

Successive recording function

The Digimax A503 incorporates some movie editing functions usually found only in a computer only in a computer. The successive recording and the successive recording function developed through Samsung’s own technology enables you to pause during unwanted scenes and resume recording of the movie later. Using this function, you can record your favourite scenes as a movie, without having to create multiple movie files.

Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) function

The Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) function is suitable for situations when optimal exposure is difficult to achieve. You can take a picture with normal exposure, darker picture, and brighter picture, simultaneously. Under the situation where shooting is difficult with normal exposure settings, you can take pictures by selecting the brightness of an image through this function.

Adjusting white balance and custom white balance functions

The Digimax A503 provides white balance functions (Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent, Tungsten, and Custom) so that you can achieve more natural-looking colour reproduction under any light conditions. Additionally, RGB enables you to control colours in any way you want.

Image edit function

This function enables a slide show of pictures taken, resolution changes, trimming function, image rotation, and picture protection so that you can use the camera more conveniently. In addition, the function enables you to check information about the picture immediately.

PictBridge (direct printing system)

PictBridge support enables you to print images from your Digimax A503 quickly and easily, without the need for a PC.

You can use a USB cable to connect the Digimax A503 to a printer without a PC, and select paper types and sizes supported by the printer from a menu in the camera. Through the camera’s LCD, you can check the printer’s progress status. PictBridge is fully compatible with DPOF so that you can also use the existing output format (DPOF) according to the printer type.

The camera is fine and actually stores pictures a little faster than most digital cameras but I'm returning mine. An optical zoom is so standard on cameras that I didn't even notice that this camera didn't have one. It does have a digital zoom but on this camera, it's useless. If you use the digital zoom at all you loose resolution... and not just a little. The picture is severly compromised. So, if you never ever anticipate the need to zoom, not even a little, it's a decent camera.

I just bought the A503 yesterday,after my Polaroid izone 300 was stolen, and I am amazed. It is a wonderful camera(and a vast change from the izone)! It takes great quality photos and has tons of great features, like the cute little frames, and the different colors. It even does great for nature photos, like flowers, close up. I took a picture of a sunflower, and I could see every single seed in the flower. I am totally amazed with this camera. It is a great buy!

I got a red one from Walmart. Very nice little DC at a very good price. I'm a casual user so I don't expect a fancy one. Samsung Digimax A503 gives you great color pictures with details plus some interesting built-in special effects, which will really put a smile on your face when you see it...^)^ I also love the tiny size so I can put it in my pocket without buying a camera bag. The 2.0" LCD screen is pretty big for the size of camera.

I definitely will give it a 5-star!
