GX-1S Highlights

Ergonomic design GX 1S is ergonomically designed to make it easy to use. Made with a light and robust stainless steel chassis, its body weighs only 505 g. The specially-finished grip enables this super-light, slim digital SLR with stable picture-taking capability. One of the many features unique to GX 1S is the 2.5-inch large LCD that displays the high-quality of the pictures just taken.

Bright Pentaprism viewfinder with picture coverage of 95% (Magnification 0.95X) GX 1S has adopted the Pentaprism viewfinder to capture larger and clearer images, enabling the user to easily identify subtle changes. The Pentaprism uses the reflecting surface processed with deposition and coating technology that increases penetration efficiency, thus ensuring a large and clear view, high magnification of 0.95, and the high picture coverage of 95%, that would be impossible with mirror-based technology.

2.5-inch large TFT LCD GX 1S has adopted the 210,000 pixels, 2.5-inch large TFT LCD, providing an unprecedented wide and clear screen, which enables the user to confirm the image more accurately, thus further enhancing picture accuracy.

The convenient information LCD on top On top, GX 1S is equipped with a separate information LCD that displays the photographing status and other information, making GX 1S even easier to use. The LCD displays information about camera operation, including shutter speed, iris value, flash operation, photographing mode, focus, bracketing, white balance, and remaining battery capacity.

Highly sensitive photographing supported (ISO 3200) GX 1S has the auto sensitivity feature that automatically adjusts sensitivity according to the photographing exposure up to ISO 3200. It is equipped with the standard output feature of ISO 200, 400, 800, 1600, and 3200. The high sensitivity setting of ISO 3200 enables the user to take clear indoor pictures in the dark without shaking.

11-point stadimeter AF feature Equipped with the 11-point stadimeter high-precision AF feature, GX 1S provides a wide range of AF and AF features. The central 9 points form a cross sensor that adjusts the focus on any horizontal or vertical line. They offer excellent flexibility in determining the composition by bringing into focus even a subject. Additional supported features include the conversion of the focusing point that allows the user to select the position of the AF object, and the display of available focusing points in red.

16-split photometry system Equipped with the 16-split photometry system, GX 1S enables accurate measurements of the intensity of radiation and colour distribution based on the AF information in conditions where light and dark areas are mixed together or back lit. This allows the user to obtain the best exposure for each different circumstance. Available modes are: multi-split, central pivotal point, and spot photometry.

Convenient dial mode With a total of seven modes, including landscape, macro, and standard, the GX 1S features the easiest possible picture-taking in a variety of environments. In AUTO SCN mode, the camera automatically identifies the subject and selects the best mode from the five modes: portrait, landscape, macro, moving object, and standard. The AUTO SCN mode automatically adjusts AF, white balance, saturation, sharpness, and contrast as well as exposure, creating the best photographing condition.

Bulb shutter and 1/4000-sec high-speed shutter GX 1S supports precise shutter speeds from 30 seconds to 1/4000 seconds, enabling a wide range of photo-taking techniques, including capturing moving subjects and using the long shutter and the bulb shutter for night-time shooting.

Automatically pop-up, built-in P-TTL troboscope GX 1S has the built-in P-TTL controlled automatic stroboscope with enhanced exposure by automatic radiation. It features automatic pop-up in dim light, red-eye reduction, and adjustment of radiation intensity. A separate external stroboscope will add more features to the lighting characteristics.

The exposure-correction device and the AE lock feature The exposure-correction dial and the AE lock button are located in the position that is easy to access while photographing, improving ease of use and convenience.

The electronic preview lever for checking the depth of field GX 1S has a jog dial featuring the preview lever for checking the depth of field, thus maximizing ease of use and efficiency.

Continuous shooting of 2.8 pictures With continuous shooting of 2.8 (up to 8 if the noise reduction is off) pictures per second, GX 1S offers a dynamic and diverse photographing experience.
