5.0 out of 5 stars User-friendly design, great buy
Wanting a point-and-shoot again, to occasionally replace my beloved but bulky bridge camera, I chose this one based on reviews on Best Buy. I love it! Very simple to set up and learn to use. No separate battery charger needed -- just connect the camera to an outlet, as you would a cell phone. The provided CD, with the user's manual, isn't usable on a Mac, which is a...

2.0 out of 5 stars My cell phone takes better pics (Samsung Epic)
It's a pretty camera at a really cheap price but none of the pictures I've taken with this camera have been frame worthy. It takes to long to change the settings and most of the pictures come out blurred. Works best with outdoor lighting. One good feature it does have is the color settings for after you've taken a pic. Gives it a nice touch. I let my 6 year old keep...

I really love this little aqua-blue camera! The buttons are very user-friendly and it gives you lots of options. The pictures are clear and true. The only thing that is a problem, (and I hope someone might be able to help me on this),is that when I download the photos to my computer, they disappear from the camera! The manual does not say anything about this; and I cannot believe that you can lose your photos from the camera without wanting to. If this is the only way it works, then I see that as a drawback.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Camera, Great Price, June 28, 2010
This review is from: Samsung SL605 12.2 MP Digital Camera with 5X Optical Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD Screen (Blue) (Electronics)
i purchased this camera a couple of days ago at a nearby best buy, and i love it. The camera takes excellent pictures and it easy to use in normal situations, as well as easy to use in situations which require the use of the more advanced settings. I would recommend this camera to anybody who wants a good camera for everyday situations but the options and settings are not extensive enough for an avid photographer or extreme settings

I am pleased with this camera. I didn't expect much of it and although it has very few flaws, it's still a really good camera, especially for the price. I recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap, easy to use, good quality camera.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, cheap camera, December 12, 2010
This review is from: Samsung SL605 12.2 MP Digital Camera with 5X Optical Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD Screen (Blue) (Electronics)
Good camera for everyday use at a cheap price. It has many extras. A simple "auto/smart" mode takes the guessing out of your hands but you can easily change settings. Also, if you do not understand a setting, there is an easy tutorial in the camera itself. It's a "help" option in the setting. I got it for my parents whom are not tech capable but good for all levels of users. Also, 12 MP is too large for them. The photos take up alot of memory on your computer so it is nice to have an option that allows you to save it as a 3, 5, 8 MP.. so on. 5 to 8MP is plenty for them and with a 4gig memory card, you can save 2000 + photos on the card. Got it at Best Buy on sale for 69 bucks. I only wish there was a view finder. You can only use it with the screen in the back 2.7" It's a good size and clear viewing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just right for me., July 14, 2010

I really like the size, very little shutter lag, can imprint pictures with date, good color which sets it apart from other cameras, and good price.
I would have liked an optical viewfinder and wish it used AA batteries, but at this price you can't easily find these features. I didn't like having to print the users manual (97 pages!) from the DVD that came with it.
But overall, it's just right for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very good camera!, January 11, 2011
This review is from: Samsung SL605 12.2 MP Digital Camera with 5X Optical Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD Screen (Blue) (Electronics)
I got this camera to take pictures of my newborn. I have had it now for 8 months and still love it. I have dropped it 3 times and it takes pictures the same way as before. I am able to zoom in and it doesn't blow the picture up so much that it is foggy. The image is always clear and when downloaded look even better. I bought this camera at 105 and was shocked with the price then. It does a lot, but I only use the auto feature. Great camera. Would recommend to everyone.

Have only taken a few pictures but what I have taken are sharp and clear. Also did my own developing and pictures are fabulous. Although Samsung is not known for cameras, this is an excellent camera for the price. On par with other better known camera companies. Was also easy to learn how to operate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Beginners or Intermediates!, October 6, 2011
This review is from: Samsung SL605 12.2 MP Digital Camera with 5X Optical Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD Screen (Blue) (Electronics)
I got this camera last year at Best Buy for only seventy dollars (it was a Christmas sale)! Let me say that this is the best digital camera I've ever owned. It's small, easy to carry around, and if you know what you're doing-you can take some really professional shots with this! Granted, a simple digital camera does not match up to a real professional camera, but this one is pretty good.

I've seen a few people complain about the battery life. Well, this is only a problem if you use the flash often. I almost never use the flash, and my battery will last me about a month before it needs charging. However, the more you use flash-the more it needs charging. Remember, flash takes up a pretty big chunk of battery life.

Just like every other digital camera out there, this one does not come with a SD card; you'll have to buy one yourself. Thankfully, you can get them pretty cheap somewhere OTHER than Best Buy. I suggest either on Amazon or at Wal-Mart.

If you're a beginner, then this camera is a great choice! You can set it to AUTO Mode if you don't know what you're doing; the camera will automatically choose the F Stop, flash, and try to make the picture as clear as possible. However, if you're an intermediate and know your way around a digital camera, then you can set everything manually and get some pretty nice shots. (To get the best shots I recommend picking the LARGEST photo size and the SUPER FINE quality. Yes, your pictures be huge files-but if you have photo editing software then you can re-size them without losing quality. Oh, and get a tripod as well-it really helps.)

The only downside is that this camera is pretty slow when I connect it directly to my laptop. This would be a problem if I didn't have a SD Card Slot. It runs a lot faster and is easier to use than connecting the entire camera to a computer. If you have to pick between a USB port and a SD Card Slot-go with the SD Slot.

All in all, this is a very nice camera for somebody who wants something with good quality, but doesn't want to spend a huge amount of money.
