I received a totally different battery with different model number and no near field communications that was pictured in the ad! Haven't heard back from optimum trade, if I'm not mistaken bait and switch is against the law in my state. Stay away from them.

The picture shows the OEM Battery with "Near Field Communications" yet the battery delivered cleary did not. Now I have to waste time returning it. Feels like I was ripped off and I see from other reviews I am not the only one.

It's very simple to see that this is not the OEM battery that came with the phone.

Under the large letters for "Samsung" it should say "Near Field Communication".

This battery does not have the NFC chip in it making it not the OEM battery for the i-777 (AT&T) version of the phone. The picture is of the correct battery.

I had the same thing happen to me as others on this site. I ordered 2 batteries entitled "OEM Samsung Standard Battery for Samsung Galaxy S II (AT&T) i777 EB-L1A2GBA" with a picture that includes the "near field communications" text below Samsung lettering.

What I got were 2 Samsung batteries of a different model that DO NOT FIT THE GALAXY SII PHONE and so are completely useless.

Amazon also makes you contact customer service to return these so returns are not straightforward.

DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR.

This battery does not have NFC. If you don't know what that means do a quick google search. I will not be using this since it does not have NFC.

I ordered mine from "Communicative Trends LLC" eight teen bucks. No NFC label like in the picture. There are a lot of complaints here about no "NFC."

So what does this mean?

It means your phone won't be able to detect other phones nearby that have the NFC chip. You won't be able to send/receive a "business card" to/from someone via NFC, NO sharing contacts & photos, NO interacting with NFC marketing posters, NO using your phone as an access key to open hotel doors, NO replacing paper sports/concert tickets, NO using apps that take advantage of NFC technology.

Now if you didn't know your SGSII was capable of all that, it is. That's why it's called a SMART phone. Sure, there are other ways of transferring data, but why handicap your phone to save $10? Get the real thing at a real store or a reputable website that doesn't let any seller call a bootleg item OEM.

The item has wrong size, does not fit into the AT&T Galaxy S II phone. The image also does not match.

I've ordered two batches of these batteries with mixed results.

1) Seller1ON1 sent me the wrong battery at first (completely different battery)... but then corrected the error and sent me the correct batteries: EB-L1A2GBA with the words Near Field Communication on it.

2) Beast Deals aka Communicative Trends LLC whose orders were "Fulfilled by Amazon" (whatever that means as far as products) sent me EB-F1A2GBU batteries instead. These are batteries for the European SGS2 and although they provide the same voltage and capacity as well as actually WORKING in the phone, they do not have the words Near Field Communication on them. From what I understand Samsung placed the NFC antenna inside the AT&T SGS2 batteries. I had to assume the EB-F1A2GBU batteries would not support NFC.

From the battery tests and user reviews I've read on various web sites: OEM batteries are the best and are likely to be closest to the rated capacity. I've tried a non-Samsung batteries for my AT&T SGS2 and although they claim to be of higher capacity, they do not meet or exceed the capacity of the OEM ones.

...but this battery works like a charm in my Samsung Galaxy SII Model i777 bought through AT&T. I was a little worried when it arrived as it was totally discharged, but it took a charge with no issues and outperforms the original battery. Which is what I wanted and expected! I'm very happy with this purchase.
