Anyone ever looking to get a new washer and dryer I HIGHLY recommend getting front loaders!! Arrive quickly only thing I would change would be the delivery guy advising new front load owners to remove the 3 shipping bolts behind washer before using. Other than that if you get front loaders its best to leave washer door open during long periods of not being use to avoid mold smells

Both our washer and dryer were on their last legs. I have been looking for front load models with pedestal as it was what my wife preferred. i told her that adding the pedestals would likely put cost north of $2000.00. I had read several promising reviews on Samsung products and already owned a frige that was very pleased with. When I found this pair with pedestals for under $1800, I felt i was a good deal. Other than some missing cover parts where units attached to the pedestals we have been very pleased with purchase and use of them. The washer took some time to get set up, still moves some but with occasional adjustment has preformed very well.
Did finally get the cover parts, seems they were on back order.

I own the exact same set. You must understand, that a front load washer will NOT work like a top loader. Yes, it is harder to wash a comforter, but that does not mean it cannot be done. Please, do your homework before you buy ANY front loader. The end game here is size. a full size comforter will fit (will be hard but possible). You want to make sure the size of your washer will fit the largest item you would ever want to wash. In this case, a 3.6 cu ft washer is a tad small. Go for 4.0 cu ft or larger, you will thank me later. Now, about the wash time. Because you no longer have an agitator (which can ruin your clothes), the tumble action of the washer is what cleans your clothes. Just like a traditional machine, setting the machine to the correct cycle will help. Now, when you load the clothes, it will spin. Yes, it has to, to determine load size. once it stops spinning, it fills with water. A big load like a comforter will automatically set the machine to wash for two hours. Yes, I know. big loads need more time to get clean. Trust me, it works. Granted, that is not a lot of water. It is not supposed to! You purchased a machine rated for low water use. what is is doing is getting the clothes soaked. the HE detergent is not designed to cause a lot of suds. if it did, it would clog up the machine. HE detergent is low sudsing, as the tumble action of the clothes in the water will actually clean the clothes. Regular soap will cushion the clothes instead of penetrating the clothes. using too much fabric softner will also make the clothes water proof, preventing a good cleaning ( i found this out on the internet, look it up). I own this set, bought it new three years ago, no problems. Yes you can get more water in the machine...Heard of Youtube? Enough said.Read more ›

What an absolute waste of money these are! I thought I was being 'green', energy and water efficient, at what cost?

The washer does not fill with a lot of water, nor does it heat it independently, so if you it is too far away from the hot water heater the water will never truly be hot enough to get your whites clean, bright and sterile.
The loss of the agitator in traditional top load washers is horrible for cleaning anything except delicate clothes. You cannot do as large of loads either. We had a Sears Kenmore traditional set for the past 20 years, but they finally had issues, so I decided to get these fancy things, big mistake. Our boys are hard on their clothes and get quite dirty, there are still stains and smells after laundering with this washer, even with pretreating. I have tried several different brands of detergent, it's not that.

You literally have to leave the washer door open at all times to avoid the drum interior from molding! Safety hazard anyone?

The sensor in the dryer is not very good. Even when set to more dry, the clothes in a mixed load are still damp. It is not a set it and forget it wash/dry duo. You have to really work to get this set to do what we took for granted, get clothes clean and dry. You have to constantly check, add more time, adjust the loads.
Don't even think about washing your blankets and bed linens and then expecting them to dry by just putting them in the dryer and turning it on! The dryer will roll even cotton sheets up in a ball, causing the outside to dry and the sensor to shut it off, but the inside is wet...So now you need to take it out and wrestle with it, from sheets to blankets, it doesn't matter, it never fails to fail at drying.
