Decent player, cumbersome software, horrible FLAC support.,
By
This review is from: Samsung Q2 Flash 16 GB Memory Portable Media Player (Blue) (Electronics)
The Q2 is a decent media player on it's own. The major problem for me is the awful emodio software(which isn't even supported in the USA anymore) and the lack of true FLAC support. DO NOT BUY THIS PLAYER for .flac files. While the advert and box both claim it supports flac files, I can say firsthand that's a lie. What Samsung doesn't advertise is that the Q2/Q1 as well as it's touch screen player don't support ID tags for .flac files. This means that any songs on the player with the .flac extension cannot be named. No Artist, Album, Genre etc...this wouldn't be such a huge deal, save for the fact that flac support is the only reason I purchased the player. Imagine 900 songs, all UNKNOWN ARTIST.
The touch controls are sloppy and kind of responsive, it's really hit or miss. Audio/Video quality is fine but there is no video cable for the device...which just seems lame to me considering it's a media player. That's one thing the iPod has going for it. The emodio software isn't made very well and using the software to gather Album Art is a very slow process. It lets you make playlists....which is nice I guess. Honestly, there's no reason to buy this player right now. There are multiple better, cheaper players on the market that offer the same codec support.

This is by far the most convenient MP3 Player I have ever had. Transferring music to it is simple, the library updates automatically and the sort options are excellent. So far I have over 1200 songs on it and it is still not even half full. I definitely recommend this

Not a big fan,

I ended up returning the Q2. The buttons were too sensitive. Even if it was in my pocket walking could cause it to stop playing or switch songs. The battery life was terrible. The good news is that Amazon's customer service was great and very helpfull.
