5.0 out of 5 stars Such a deal! October 15, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I usually buy several books about whatever new electronic gadget I acquire as I do not find much about these things as "intuitive" as the younger set seems to. (I'm 75.) However, as this is the only instruction book I could find on this very new phone, there's nothing to compare it with, but I have no problem recommending it very highly anyway, except that the author states that it applies only to AT&T. I'm skipping around in it a bit as it's easy to find the info you need the most, when you need it. It's a regular encyclopedia of instruction so if you've decided as I did, that you just have to have this fantastic miniature computer/notebook/iPad/ereader/dictation machine/calender/phone, then I don't see how you're gonna manage without this book. NOBODY is that intuitive!

1.0 out of 5 stars Just for AT&T phones July 10, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I was very disappointed with this book. It is written only for the AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy Note. There is a huge difference between that and the phone I bought. The AT&T version apparently doesn't have the hard "Home" button. It only has softkeys. This makes the instructions totally different.

Also, I wanted to transfer my iTunes library. I went to the index -- no sign on "iTunes".
Next, I wanted to transfer my contacts and calendar with Outlook on my PC. I looked in the index again. No sign of "Outlook".

For my purposes, this book is useless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the (non existing) manual June 27, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I just received this manual, and in the style of other ..."for Dummies" books. So far as I have read, this covers a great deal of the innumerable features of this great phone. No amount of reviews I read or ads put out by Samsung mentions the many features of this ground-breaking huge phone.

1.0 out of 5 stars galaxy note January 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
So very unhappy with this manual. I think you should tell people that it is not useful for Verizon customers. This was a total waste of money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Samsung Galaxy Note for Dummies Review December 16, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book does little to explain and enhance a user's understanding of the complexisites of using this phone. The book mostly discusses AT&T requirements and benefits, apparently the book is sponsored by AT&T.
Little instruction is provided about how to overcome problems with data transfers between phone and PC, and there is no discussion of such important aspects as synchronization of calendars and contacts with information on your PC or MAC.
I think this book is a waste of time, as most of the information provided is readily available for free on the Samsung site which has the Owner's Manual for this phone that provides the same kind of information.......things like YOU CAN DO........but it doesn't tell you HOW.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice and simple December 8, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Well I thought the content of this book would be transferable to galaxy note 10.1, but very little was and that is not the books fault. Im sure its great for the galaxy note phone 1st version, however there are not enough similarities for it to be truly useful for the note tablet...
I bought it because there are note any help books for the note tablet.
Hopefully there will be a note tablet specific soon.
