Disappointing for the following reasons:

1) No data sharing when the dock is attached via USB to your computer. This makes little sense; file transfer is often one of those use cases where your device must remain still, rigid, and ideally accessible while physically linked to your machine. Yes, there's Bluetooth ... but for those of us unfamiliar with it, USB should be a full-featured alternative.

2) Advertised "Samsung Desk Home" Application (discussed in the manual) IS INCOMPATIBLE with the YP-G70, the model for which this dock is designed. Sad, because it is REQUIRED in order to make use of the Line Out port on the rear of the dock. I'm actually locked out from using one of the dock's main features because of a software issue.

3) No external adapter supplied. This may sound like minutiae, but it means you must purchase an additional adapter if, like me, you had planned to use the dock as an alternate charging space for a different location (a la work).

The end result: this is little more than a prop to hold up your device and make it look pretty while charging. Major disappointment. I think I'll be passing this one on :(

This dock is a high quality item, and it's the only dock I've found for the Samsung 5 inch MP3 Player. If you are used to the wide assortment of iPod accessories available, it can be frustrating trying to accessorize a Samsung music player. Note that out of the box the Samsung player does not output audio to the audio jack on the rear of this dock, which seems crazy, because that is what most people would buy this dock for in the first place. Samsung says that in order to use the audio jack you have to install the "Samsung Desk Home" app, but guess what, the "Samsung Desk Home" app is not available in the US! Fortunately, this issue has been addressed by at least one US app supplier, I found that the DockSoundRedirector app by xcaliburinhand fixes the dock so that it works as you would expect. The DockSoundRedirector is seamless too, it switches the audio from internal to external when you place the music player in the dock, and then switches back when you remove it. (exactly like iPods work without any special apps installed.) Like I said the dock is a solid nicely made piece of hardware, and I would have given it 5 stars except for the extra hassle of figuring out the software issue. Now that I have it figured out I will probably buy at least one more of these docks, they are convenient and worth the money

This is awesome. Exactly what I wanted. I gotta admit apple has the accessory world dominated, and after switching from an ipod to my new galaxy player I realized what I missed. Im gonna order another one of these for work, and 2 for my phone.

This item serves no purpose. I'd like to be able to dock my galaxy player to use as a stereo - like an Ipod dock station. I knew before buying this thing that I'd have to buy speakers separately, but this thing doesn't have a power cord (only has a USB outlet), so you still have to plug it into your computer to charge. Basically, for $35, you can prop your mp3 player up while charging it, or buy a separate adapter for USB to power outlet connection. Absolutely stupid, and it was returned right away.

By the way, if you have one of those rubber protective sleeves for your mp3 player, you'd have to remove it to dock because this contraption is only designed to fit the "naked" device.
