Unreal seperation of channels. Nice system.
I was afraid this system wouldn't be worth it since most movies are still in 5.1 however, the true HD audio does use all 8 channels. Sometimes it is rather chilling on a scary movie when the extra two channels in the rear pick up an unexpected sound. A lot nicer than my old bose 5.1 The picture is also incredible w/ regular and especially blu-ray dvd's.

Straight up does not work.
I really can't review this product in terms of its picture quality or 7.1 sound. This is because the player would not play any blu ray discs (which were brand new, from the packaging, purchased specifically for this new player). It played only 2 of 5 DVDs I tested (also brand new). I downloaded the recommended firmware update, burned a firmware update CD, and put it in...

This review is from: Samsung HT-BD2T Blu-Ray 7.1 Channel Home Theater System (Set of Nine, Black) (Electronics)
I BOUGHT A FACTORY REFURBISHED MODEL TO SAVE SOME MONEY AND I WILL TELL YOU THIS IS WORTH EVERY PENNY! IT MAKES MY HOME THEATER SOUND AS IF I SPENT THOUSANDS ON THE SYSTEM- VERY EASY TO SET UP AND IS SAMSUNG QUALITY!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS UNIT AND WOULDN'T BE AFRAID TO PURCHASE REFURBISHED SAMSUNG ITEMS AGAIN.

It played only 2 of 5 DVDs I tested (also brand new). I downloaded the recommended firmware update, burned a firmware update CD, and put it in. Like my other discs, the machine loaded for a while and declared that the firmware disc was unreadable. Great. I am in the process of returning this player. If you want a system that will actually play the blu ray discs and DVDs you enter, this is not it.
