Versatile, quality MP3 device! The Samsung Yepp comes equipped with: 32MB's of embedded flash memory with a slot for additional memory card upgrades, a magnesium casing, and a sixteen character LCD screen capable of displaying a song or artist's info. The Yepp supports the popular MP3 file format in addition to files protected by Samsung's proprietary encryption system, SecuMAX. Samsung's portable digital audio player is shockproof, which makes it ideal for the sports enthusiast who wants to listen to tunes while exercising. The end user can download MP3 files from the Net and compile the songs they want to listen to. The Yepp's graphical LCD display indicates: the song title being played, the artist's name, and the track's playing time.

Different from other most MP3 players, the Yepp features a digital FM tuner and a voice recording function. The outer case is made of magnesium, which is light and strong resulting in a greater resistance to external shock than other portable audio products.

Another of the Yepp's distinguishing features is the adoption of a Smart Media slot rather than the traditional Compact Flash card slot. The Yepp's Smart Media cards are ultra slim and are compatible with the PC file format, thus allowing the Samsung Yepp to store graphics and text files as well as MP3 music files.

All-in-all, the Samsung Yepp delivers quality at an affordable price in what is becoming a crowded niche of the portable electronics market.

I'm an extremely picky person, and I spent days searching all around the web after searching at stores around my neighborhood had failed. I wanted the perfect mp3 player because I didn't want to have to return it or call customer service (it's very annoying). After searching on Amazon.com and reading all the reviews for mp3 players that looked good, I finally decided on this one, just because it looked nice and the features seemed sufficient. When I finally received the product, I estactically opened it up and went to try it out right away. It was INCREDIBLY easy to use. I already had Real Jukebox on my computer, so installation was unnecessary. Even if I didn't have Real Jukebox, when you plug the USB cable in, it automatically leads you to the setup. You can just sit back and relax; everything's done for you. All you have to do is click the "next" button. Once the installation of Real Jukebox is complete, you can access it automatically from your desktop. From there, you go to the device icon and click on "Samsung Yepp". You can start downloading files right away. All you need to do is select the tracks and click transfer on the right..... The whole product is incredibly easy to use; I just couldn't believe it! I'm computer-illiterate, and I don't know much about the electronic stuff, so I was suprised to find out that loading and transfering files to the Yepp was so simple and fast. The instruction booklet that came with the product was also very informative. It told you everything that needed to be done, and nothing was left out. It even had troubleshooting tips! This product is great, and though you might complain about the small amount of memory, I easily fit 9 songs on the Yepp, and with a smart media card, I had about 18 songs, which is enough for me. I have just one more thing to tell you: BUY THIS PRODUCT! You'll be extremely satasfied with how simple and efficient it is. The cost isn't so extravagant either. Wouldn't you rather buy something at a decent price that works then something at a cheap price that's hard to figure out?

This thing works pretty well, i've had no problems with it, those little earphones actually handle bass very well! Even after they went thru my washing machine, haha, they work great.
The only downside is that while the things in your pocket the buttons press eeasy, but thats not that bigga deal...

This lightweight MP3 player is easy to use and sounds great. Although at 32 MB, it only plays about 25 minutes, Samsung has a rebate offer for a second 32MB card for free, giving you about an hour's worth of tunes.

The player looks great, drawing rave comments from friends who want to check it out. It's easy to use and the headphones sound better than I expected. It is really small but easy to control with the buttons.

We are very satisified with this purchase. Several friends bought it after trying the Yepp and had the same experience.

After a *LOT* of research I bought my first MP3 player.
It is a very good deal, specially if you buy the 32Mb version an add an unexpensive 64 Mb smartmedia card. 96Mb is fairly more music than the one you'll need for a ride on the bus to college or work.

The sound is pretty good and you'll usually use it on shuffle without the remote. I don't have to say anything about the look.

The software works ok, you'll probably preffer the Yepp explorer (downloadable from samsung's site) than the included Real Jukebox.
About the transfer speed, well, when working with the embedded memory is just fine, however, downloading or even erasing music from the smartmedia is kinda' slow.

To sum up, if you get it from less than 100 bucks... it's a really good deal.

I have just received this unit today. It takes less than 2 minutes to transfer 32MB mp3 songs to the onborad memory using windowsXP, the YEPP explorer from the samsung website, DO NOT INSTALL THE SOFTWARE ON THE CD. I think this player's output is loud enough to enjoy the music on the street or working out. I don't know the battery life but ppl do have good thing to say about it. I have no problem connecting this unit to the computer.(less than 1 mins) and about the belf clif? It is very easy to use and fit perfectly to the player and I have no problem wearing it around.(I do prefer to have an arm band.) The battery door is no trick to open. This is the easiest electronic I have ever used. I don't know why people keep having hard time to operate it. I bought it at 39.99 with free shipping and I am heading to the neweggs.com to get a 25 Dollars 64MB SmartMedia card. Total investment will be around 65 dollars for a 96MB meomry MP3 player with cool apperance. Thumb UP to samsung again. oh yeah, I do own another 99 dollars Samsung Laser printer (8MB). I think I will give them more business in the near future when I buy a new plasma TV or HDTV.

i finally bought this player online after wanting it for a long time. the lack of memory is the only pitfall to this machine, but extra memory slot makes up for it. it is incredibly easy to use, it took me only less 30 min to setup the connection, software and fill the 32 mb...i think its pretty amazing considering i've never used an mp3 player ever before! someone earlier said that it didn't work too well with XP but it worked perfectly for me. one of my favourite things is its not "expensive looking", the design is really fun and someone it convinces me that its less likely to be the target of a theft. i went jogging with it this morning and it was LIGHT! no skip, no burden, no hassle, just continuous music.

I got one of these for christmas. It was rather large compared to some of the others in it's price range and the timing of the songs is so inacreate. You have to use 96kbs quility songs for it 2 be acreate, lower quility songs it just takes a guess at the lenght according to the quility. Also it takes an age to copy and delete songs. After about 2 months of having one it broke and the buttons would not work. I got a RCA K@zoo! copys and deletes about 20times quicker and is smaller, more durable and has acreate timing.

I just got the Samsung Yepp Hip-Hop today and after taking it out of the box and plugging everything in, I found it incredibly easy to use! I have Windows ME and I use Morpheus and Kazaa (like Napster) to download songs, and you can easily import the songs from your Morpheus and Kazaa onto your Yepp. Before getting the Yepp, I read almost all the reviews and now that i have it, i have no idea what the bad reviews were talking about!! It took me about 1 minute to transfer a song onto the Yepp and the sound quality is great. So if any of you out there are looking at the reviews deciding whether or not to buy this player, dont think twice! Its great! It also is one of the easiest MP3 players to use. So to sum up:

I should have known better than to order this type of device as it had no instructions and I know nothing about MP3 devices. I ordered it simply by brand name, but I could not get it to work and I sent it back.
