Haven't learned all the options yet but for now I just put it in the AUTO mode. Even only using this option pictures are clear and well focused. The only problem is it takes forever for the picture to actually flash. Rather slow so there are missed action shots.

This camera is a gem.
I own 5 digital cameras and the Samsung L210 is perfect for those times you don't want to carry around a large SLR or medium size super zoom. Just put it in your pocket and go. The image quality is excellent and there is very little noise at low to medium iso. I don't think this camera will let you take a bad shot. I'm amazed at the features Samsung has packed into this small, quality built camera. You just can't do better for the price.

Many problems,

I bought this camera in September 2008. I really tried to like this camera. I purchased this specific camera because it was ranked very highly by consumer reports. However, I've had many problems with it. As one other reviewer pointed out, there is a significant lag time after you press the capture button. It's even longer if you are in automatically detect and correct red-eye mode, which is the automatic default mode when you turn on your camera (the lag time when in this mode is approximately a full 3 seconds, my husband and I timed it, and then another full 3 seconds before you can take another picture). It's a long lag time if you are in dual image stabilization mode (2 seconds), which has never seemed to help stabilize my image, it just takes longer to take the image, also, you can't use the flash in dual image stabilization mode. Also, the digital zoom is a joke, the pictures come out so grainy it's not worth it. Also, sometimes it takes a long time to save the images and of course, if you don't realize it's still saving and turn off your camera then you lose that image, although part of it will be saved on the camera and so when you turn the camera back on and try to go to view your old images it will just freeze up when you try to look at the damaged file and you have to remove the battery to get it to turn off to restart it for it to be functional at all.
That being said, when I have remembered to change the setting to automatic flash instead of autmatic red eye and the dual image stabilization is off and I'm not zoomed in so far as to activate the digital zoom, then it takes a very nice picture. It's just really quirky, you have to remember to do all these things, which to me, isn't worth it.

A So - So Samsung Camera,

I purchased this Samsung "pocket" digital to supplement my picture taking along with my Nikon D-50 DSLR. It was a difficult camera to get used to as I don't only take pictures in automatic mode and like to manually adjust settings as much as possible. The non-auto settings were difficult to get to, photo quality was so-so, and so I said So Long to the camera and gave it away-free.
I later purchased a Nikon Coolpix P300 and am quite satisfied with the photo quality and degree of adjustability of settings in Program and other manual modes. It was a bargain at around $250. Buy an extra battery and external battery charger as the primary charge process is to "plug" the camera into a wall outlet limiting your use of the camera.Nikon COOLPIX P300 12.2 CMOS Digital Camera with 4.2x f/1.8 NIKKOR Wide-Angle Optical Zoom Lens and Full HD 1080p Video (Black)

My first impressions of this camera are that it is not a bad little camera. I picked mine up cheap, and am pleased so far for what I spent. Mainly use it outdoors, and those shots have good color and clarity. Once you learn the menus it has lot of different adjustments and features. It can also be used in auto mode with pretty good results. It is small and fairly thin, so nice to keep in your purse or pocket. It has a metal body, which is nice and seems a bit more rugged. Wish it used AA or AAA batteries, then it would be really handy. Proprietary rechargable batteries are what keeps these cameras so small, however, so it's a trade off. Would I make this my main camera, NO. Would I give this to my teenager or keep for a backup or to tote in my pocket on trips, YES.

The camera is great for outside shooting. For dark areas, it is horrible. I can never get a great setting for dark areas. This camera replaced a Canon powershot. I'm going to get a Canon again. The Canon camera's seem to be superior.
