This set has a 800 x 600-pixel resolution, 4:3 standard aspect ratio, 25ms (millisecond) response time, 500 cd/m2 brightness rating, and 500:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) It also offers 160-degree horizontal and 120-degree vertical viewing angles.
It comes with a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner (MTS/SAP) for viewing standard broadcast and cable stations. The digital comb filter minimizes edge image artifacts while improving transition detail. Other features include a variable sleep timer, four picture modes, closed caption decoder, V-Chip parental controls, and multilingual on-screen displays (English, Spanish, Portuguese and French). This set is also Energy Star compliant, requiring up to 25 percent less energy than other comparable TVs.
The built-in side-mounted speakers provide 3 watts of power per channel (for 6 watts total), and this set provides five sound modes (Standard, Music, Speech, Movie, and Custom) that allow you to tailor the audio to a specific program. It includes the following audio and video connection options:

I just puchased this tv about 4 days ago. The picture quality is TERRIBLE, and everytime i turn the channel I get this popping sound. I tried adjusting the contrast and try connecting it to other cable hook-ups in the house and the picture was still not good. I wouldn't recommend this t.v. it's not worth the money. Buyers beware

Hey guys,Well one would think Samsung is a trusted name, but when it comes to this TV...one wonders. I purchased this TV at local store and they had one in display. I was not impressed at all with the picture quality, but the salesperson told me that it only looks like that because the TV had a poor connection and once I installed it at home it would be perfect. Well, I purchased it and it was horrible, just as horrible as the way it looked in the shop. I could barely read the writing on the TV and I tried plugging the DVD player directly on the TV and it was just as worse. So I owned this TV for about 30 minutes and returned it to the shop for a full refund. This TV is a rip off, even if it was free I would not want it in my bedroom. The sound is marginal, but the picture quality is embarasing. I was very disapointed in this product and hope you don't make the same mistake as I did. This PRODUCT IS A "ZERO" star. I would recomend the samsung LNS1952W....it's a 19" but the picture quality is amazing.
