Key Features![]() | Samsung’s Series 6 marks the first appearance of TOC (Touch of Color) design in the 2008 LCD HDTV line-up. Inspired by designs from the automotive and fashion industries, Samsung’s unique unique Transparent and Opaque Color molding process creates a clean, smooth finish infused with a hint of a translucent color during the manufacturing process for an ultra-sleek appearance. | ![]() |
![]() | Up-to-the-minute access to weather, news, sports and stock information is just a cable and a click away through the HDTV’s Ethernet port and new InfoLink RSS service. An all-new user interface with digital contents management guide provides intuitive navigation and access to both internal and external content. |
![]() | Samsung enhances the clarity of select LCD HDTVs by replacing the light-diffusing plastic face of traditional LCD HDTVs with a natural black panel with a clear anti-glare shield. Reduced reflection of external light creates a new dimension in image clarity, highlighting black and darkened areas, enabling vibrant, more compelling colors and a brighter, clearer picture. Black will never again appear grayish. Black details will show in vivid black even in dark scenes. The latest version of Samsung’s breakthrough super clear panel technology makes colors appear more vibrant and blacks even deeper than ever. Enhanced films reduce glare and optimize off-angle viewing. | ![]() |
![]() | 15,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio will give you a picture better than you ever thought possible, with whiter whites, blacker blacks and a nearly infinite subtlety of gradations in between. As two of the most important determining factors in overall picture quality, contrast and brightness levels achieve new heights in this latest generation LCD panel. Samsung’s new LCD TV’s give the most stunning realistic picture quality ever. |
![]() | Full HD, or 1080p, contains 1.5 times more scanning lines than conventional HD TVs. More scanning lines mean more pixels, more details and a better picture. The new Samsung LCD TV with resolution that is approximately 2 times greater than conventional HDTVs, creating the most perfect picture imaginable. Samsung’s 1080p panel uses a new high-speed liquid crystal to cut response time to 4ms. The fast response time, coupled with Samsung’s Auto Motion Plus 120Hz motion blur reduction technology dramatically reduces motion blur and judder. | ![]() |

| The NTSC (National Television Systems Committee) has established the color standards all TVs in America try to meet. And typical LCD TVs only meet about 72% of this standard. Samsung LCD HDTVs use Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp backlights to give you 92% coverage of the NTSC standard, ensuring truer, more breathlessly vivid colors. Samsung’s exclusive Wide Color Enhancer technology delivers more brilliant colors, even in bright areas of the picture where blues and greens are washed out on conventional screens. The system displays wider color reproduction, showing you truer colors – the fresh green of spring foliage, the intense blue of the summer sky. | |||

![]() | To make the Series 6 a true entertainment hub for any home, Samsung has incorporated advanced HD connectivity and networking capabilities that expand the HDTV’s functionality. A wide variety of multimedia devices can be connected to the set through any one of the four Simplay compliant HDMI 1.3 inputs (including one on the side), and the handy HDMICEC feature lets you control all your CEC-enabled peripherals using just one remote. Connect HD digital devices like disc players, game consoles, and satellite dish components into the 2 rear connections and use the side-mounted input for cameras, camcorders, and laptops. HDMI is the best performing interface for displaying an HD source on an HDTV. Once connected, users can easily access device menus and manage and display content through the newly redesigned Wheel Key Remote control and the HDTV’s sophisticated content management interface. ![]() | Samsung’s Super Patterned Vertical Alignment (SPVA) panel provides a 178-degree viewing angle from all four axes |
![]() | With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience.

This review is from: Samsung LN32A650 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color (Electronics)
After ordering and receiving this product I was a little disappointed at the lack of 120hz and some other info that amazon gave that was false.
I thought about returning it and going with the LN32A550, but I decided against it and kept the 650. This T.V. has expectational picture quality on HD channels, but the regular SD look a little grainy, but what T.V. isn't like that? Xbox 360 via HDMI looks amazing, just wish I could have had that 120hz. I also plug my Dell XPS M1330 laptop in via HDMI and surf the internet in full HD glory :) Great T.V. even if I had my hopes up for more with the advertising Amazon did. Would recommend. :)

This review is from: Samsung LN32A650 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color (Electronics)
Amazing TV for the price but Amazon advertises it with the 120Hz refresh rate spec and it doesn't have it. It's only at 60Hz so every once in a while in 1080i mode you see a jitter that you wouldn't see with a 120Hz set. Pretty upset with Amazon for not realizing that in this Samsung line the 120Hz sets start with the 40" and up models.
Besides that, for the price it may be the best 32" 1080p set on the market.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Samsung LN32A650 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color (Electronics)
[[ASIN:B00141AYR8 Samsung LN32A650 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color]We ordered this TV and received it on 11/20/08. We set it up, which was easy and went well. Within 3 days it began to automatically shut itself off. This increased with frequency each time we turned it on. By Thanksgiving day it had shut itself off so much we stopped using it. The following day we tried again. It shut itself off 8 times in a few hours. I called One Call and could not get through. Left a message but no one has called back, yet. Sent an Email and received a reply that I had to call Samsung. Apparently One Call does not have anything to do with product malfunction/repair/replacement. Their policy seems to be that a buyer can send the new product with problems back but must pay shipping to do so. The number for Samsung provided by One Call was wrong. I called the number on the Samsung booklet, was told that they have to send out a repairman and that someone would call us in 2-3 business days. We are still waiting--have another day to wait. I asked the Samsung representative why they don't just replace the TV since it is not usable and has a major problem out of the box. I was told that they do not replace new products with problems until they have tried repair, first. This is very frustrating. If I wanted a refurb, I could have bought one and saved a lot of money. Nearly two weeks with an expensive new TV we cannot use. It was our first effort to order a major purchase from the Internet from an unknown provider that was highly rated by Amazon users. Our plan, if this went well, was to purchase a larger TV for our family room and possibly a smaller one for a bedroom with electronics and an updated computer to go with them. This inconvenience, (not to mention cost, if we have to pay to ship the Samsung TV back), totally negates any cost savings or convenience of ordering online. We are additionally disappointed because we researched TV's carefully and the Samsung was generally the most highly rated, even by the consumer testing organization. Needless to say, we will be extremely cautious before we make another large on-line purchase from other than a traditional company with which we are familiar.
Update 6/23/2009 This TV has been sent out for repairs a total of four times since our original purchase. I have asked repeatedly for a replacement TV because it was "bad out of the box". When I called back after the 3rd repair did not totally fix the problem-- a different one--now red vertical lines on a black display, no picture at all, which occurs intermittently when turned on--I asked for a replacement TV. The warranty indicates that after 3 repairs they will consider replacement. I was informed that there would be no replacement TV as new parts had not been installed on each of the previous 3 repairs and the policy is that new parts must be installed on 3 repairs before they will consider replacement. The repair service again took the TV. They returned it in the same condition it was given to them with instructions from Samsung that we must take a picture of the display when the problem appears because in the few days they had the TV the problem did not occur. The TV will then be taken for repair again. The repair service told us the TV really needs a new display in order to fix the problem but Samsung will not authorize a new display until they receive a picture of what we have repeatedly described to them. We now feel like we are being thought of as liars! Certainly, it would be more beneficial for Samsung to simply repair or replace this TV than to have customers that are so unhappy they will tell all of their friends and family that Samsung does not stand behind it's warranty. We believe that Samsung is going to continue to give us problems with honoring the warranty until it expires in November. Believe me, we will do our best to avoid all Samsung purchases in the future. Our time, energy, and money is better spent elsewhere. Update 12/5/09 After five calls for repair, a demand from Samsung that photos of the screen problem be Emailed to them in October, which was done, then no reply from Samsung, which required more calls to their executive customer service line, we finally have a replacement TV--a 2009 of the same model. It is great--very clear screen, good sound. The time spent in calls, waiting on repair/return, and many frustrations with the original model did not make the savings worthwhile for the original purchase. Samsung's customer service was very poor until I was able to talk with the service last representative who finally agreed to a replacement. We are finally happy with the replacement which was received shortly before the one year warranty expired. We were told that they would only give a 90 day warranty on the replacement, not one year which was given on the returned TV.
