This review is from: Samsung LN32A650 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color (Electronics)
After ordering and receiving this product I was a little disappointed at the lack of 120hz and some other info that amazon gave that was false.
I thought about returning it and going with the LN32A550, but I decided against it and kept the 650. This T.V. has expectational picture quality on HD channels, but the regular SD look a little grainy, but what T.V. isn't like that? Xbox 360 via HDMI looks amazing, just wish I could have had that 120hz. I also plug my Dell XPS M1330 laptop in via HDMI and surf the internet in full HD glory :) Great T.V. even if I had my hopes up for more with the advertising Amazon did. Would recommend. :)

Amazing TV for the price but Amazon advertises it with the 120Hz refresh rate spec and it doesn't have it. It's only at 60Hz so every once in a while in 1080i mode you see a jitter that you wouldn't see with a 120Hz set. Pretty upset with Amazon for not realizing that in this Samsung line the 120Hz sets start with the 40" and up models.
Besides that, for the price it may be the best 32" 1080p set on the market.

[[ASIN:B00141AYR8 Samsung LN32A650 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color]We ordered this TV and received it on 11/20/08. We set it up, which was easy and went well. Within 3 days it began to automatically shut itself off. This increased with frequency each time we turned it on. By Thanksgiving day it had shut itself off so much we stopped using it. The following day we tried again. It shut itself off 8 times in a few hours. I called One Call and could not get through. Left a message but no one has called back, yet. Sent an Email and received a reply that I had to call Samsung. Apparently One Call does not have anything to do with product malfunction/repair/replacement. Their policy seems to be that a buyer can send the new product with problems back but must pay shipping to do so. The number for Samsung provided by One Call was wrong. I called the number on the Samsung booklet, was told that they have to send out a repairman and that someone would call us in 2-3 business days. We are still waiting--have another day to wait. I asked the Samsung representative why they don't just replace the TV since it is not usable and has a major problem out of the box. I was told that they do not replace new products with problems until they have tried repair, first. This is very frustrating. If I wanted a refurb, I could have bought one and saved a lot of money. Nearly two weeks with an expensive new TV we cannot use. It was our first effort to order a major purchase from the Internet from an unknown provider that was highly rated by Amazon users. Our plan, if this went well, was to purchase a larger TV for our family room and possibly a smaller one for a bedroom with electronics and an updated computer to go with them. This inconvenience, (not to mention cost, if we have to pay to ship the Samsung TV back), totally negates any cost savings or convenience of ordering online. We are additionally disappointed because we researched TV's carefully and the Samsung was generally the most highly rated, even by the consumer testing organization. Needless to say, we will be extremely cautious before we make another large on-line purchase from other than a traditional company with which we are familiar.
Update 6/23/2009 This TV has been sent out for repairs a total of four times since our original purchase. I have asked repeatedly for a replacement TV because it was "bad out of the box". When I called back after the 3rd repair did not totally fix the problem-- a different one--now red vertical lines on a black display, no picture at all, which occurs intermittently when turned on--I asked for a replacement TV. The warranty indicates that after 3 repairs they will consider replacement. I was informed that there would be no replacement TV as new parts had not been installed on each of the previous 3 repairs and the policy is that new parts must be installed on 3 repairs before they will consider replacement. The repair service again took the TV. They returned it in the same condition it was given to them with instructions from Samsung that we must take a picture of the display when the problem appears because in the few days they had the TV the problem did not occur. The TV will then be taken for repair again. The repair service told us the TV really needs a new display in order to fix the problem but Samsung will not authorize a new display until they receive a picture of what we have repeatedly described to them. We now feel like we are being thought of as liars! Certainly, it would be more beneficial for Samsung to simply repair or replace this TV than to have customers that are so unhappy they will tell all of their friends and family that Samsung does not stand behind it's warranty. We believe that Samsung is going to continue to give us problems with honoring the warranty until it expires in November. Believe me, we will do our best to avoid all Samsung purchases in the future. Our time, energy, and money is better spent elsewhere. Update 12/5/09 After five calls for repair, a demand from Samsung that photos of the screen problem be Emailed to them in October, which was done, then no reply from Samsung, which required more calls to their executive customer service line, we finally have a replacement TV--a 2009 of the same model. It is great--very clear screen, good sound. The time spent in calls, waiting on repair/return, and many frustrations with the original model did not make the savings worthwhile for the original purchase. Samsung's customer service was very poor until I was able to talk with the service last representative who finally agreed to a replacement. We are finally happy with the replacement which was received shortly before the one year warranty expired. We were told that they would only give a 90 day warranty on the replacement, not one year which was given on the returned TV.

WOW what a nice TV,
This review is from: Samsung LN32A650 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color (Electronics)
I did a lot of research on LCD tv's especially 32 inch, do to limited space, and was deciding on either the Sony XBR4 or the sammy!. I have to say that I am very pleased with the sammy. The picture is awesome in HD mode, little to no jugger. Even though it dosn't have 120 HZ, only the Panny has that in the 32 inch. But with the 1080p who could tell the difference. Sound is good with plenty of options, and the Touch of color is very nice, I think it's the best looking 32inch LCD out there. I will will probably buy the 46 or 52 inch sammy when I get enough money or my wife lets me, you know how that goes! anyway the only negitive if you want to call it that, and one that I read was it's a dusk magnet, but with the cloth pad cleaner they give you, it's really not a problem. Sorry Amazon, but 6ave has it for $948.00 and with a 5% off coupon I got it for $900.68 free shipping and delivered to the door. Very happy so far.
5-stars in my book.

I purchased the television from best buy and got them to negotiate so I could have the television that day. I brought the tv home got it all setup. This is our Secondary tv so all the good toys stay on the big tv. I hooked it up to our U-verse through component cables. I hooked up our HD-DVD Player through the HDMI. All HDMI cables used are 1.3 cables. I then went to turn the tv on. As its booting up it sounds like my Playstation 3 making some melody when starting. Not the biggest fan of that stupid noise. I turn on the tv and set it to 1080i and watch. Everything is coming on clear as it should a lot better than our big tv but go figure for a 480 broadcast the smaller the better. Then I turned the tv on to the 1080i broadcast and just as it should the picture clears up and looks amazing. Next I grabbed a movie that was in "1080p" from our HD-DVD collection. I threw it in. I actually have to say that it looks better on the Samsung than our other tv (Mitsubishi 46" 1080p). I played with the remote which is a little big for a remote in my opinion and changed some settings. I ended up changing the audio settings in the tv. I was very impressed with the level audio sounds. Between tv and commercials the audio wasn't blasting and then getting lower. A feature which is huge if you actually watch tv. I do like the sound quality but it is lacking some bass depth in the sound. I have yet to test the features that are beyond extra like the link thing but I love the tv minus the noise when starting and shutting down. I mean come on Samsung Really???
Ultimately I am a junky when it comes to technology and as this goes I would 100% recommended this tv to anyone who wants an amazing 32" tv even without the 120hz (which is pointless unless you have a 40" and up)

In a word this TV is awesome in picture clarity, colors,HD,appearance and anything else you want to say, it is truly "a touch of class". Get this TV if you are interested in HD display. I own many Samsung LCDs( 3 52" and 2 32-37") and all of them has a fanastic picture. Ordered every set from Amazon.com. They all came on time by CEVA transport Service and I nevered had to have them take it out of the box and see if it would work. There was never any "dead pixels" or problems with any of the sets.
The sound is OK, but BETTER if you run it through a next-gen receiver with HDMI TrueHD Dolby 5.1 to 7.1 sound or higher receiver. If you're worried about ordering such a large Item online I understand the fears, especially if you order from "any" of the New York State ventors, you are going to have some kind of problem. BUT not with Amazon.com. you can order with no fears,no problems. Get this TV!

Full HD for a full experience,
This review is from: Samsung LN32A650 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color (Electronics)
I had initially looked for a monitor for my PC in the range of 24-28", but saw that some were using HDTVs for computer displays. After doing weeks of research, I finally decided on getting this display. For computer monitor use, this thing is amazing, it makes my 20" LCD look so tiny and the color on this thing makes my old one look like it has a yellow tint to it. I love the picture quality of this Samsung.
If you are looking for a awesome PC monitor, this is it. Be sure to buy a DVI -> HDMI cable and connect it to HDMI2 and set the name of HDMI2 to PC. That will cut down on the input lag significantly. While gaming, I do not notice any input lag at all. I have not used this very much for watching TV, but what I have watched was in 1080i and it looked great. The first LN32A650 I got form amazon had the plastic frame detaching from the rest of the unit at the top. After calling them, they sent out a replacement unit and this seems one to be flawless(no cosmetic damage or dead/stuck pixels). My experience was CEVA was good and I would recommend it. Overall, I like this HDTV a lot and I would recommend it!

Bought 4 TV's this year for Xmas, this one was for myself. Needed a smaller TV and this one worked perfectly. Picture is excellent with Verizon FIOS and HD. Sound isn't the best but not bad. Better than the LN52A550. The touch of red is very suttle and when I ordered was a bit worried about it but is nice and can barely tell it is there unless you look with just the right lighting. Now I would prefer the touch of red if given the choice. Delivery took about a week with CEVA and had no issues. I set the TV up but they helped inspect it and will carry it wherever you want it. Setup is simple as well, just connect and auto scan. I also payed a bit more and ordered from Amazon versus the others since Amazon will let you return it if problems (30 days) and the others typically will not. Have had it for 1 1/2 months and is main TV in kids play room, watched daily. Great TV.

This review is from: Samsung LN32A650 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color (Electronics)
Samsung...
The ln32a650 is a fantastic TV. Nice sharp Picture, Good sound. easy to setup and use. Amazon... The customer service is very poor. Did not want to honor price guarantee. CEVA... (shipping, Amazons choice) Terrible! TV sat on dock in Reno for 4 days, LAX for 6 days, CEVA promised arrival on 05/09/08 shipment arrived 05/14/08. I suggest you not do business with Amazon until thsy address some of these issues. |
