Connections
A wide variety of multimedia devices can be connected to the set through any one of the four HDMI 1.3 inputs (including one on the side), and the handy Anynet+ feature (HDMI-CEC) lets you control all your CEC-enabled peripherals--such as a DVD or Blu-ray player--using just one remote. Connect HD digital devices like disc players, game consoles, and satellite dish components into the two rear connections and use the side-mounted input for cameras, camcorders, and laptops. HDMI is the best performing interface for displaying an HD source on an HDTV.
Dimensions
![]() | Full HD, or 1080p, contains 1.5 times more scanning lines than conventional HD TVs. More scanning lines mean more pixels, more details and a better picture. The new Samsung LCD TV with resolution that is approximately 2 times greater than conventional HDTVs, creating the most perfect picture imaginable. Samsung's 1080p panel uses a new high-speed liquid crystal to cut response time to 6ms (milliseconds). | ![]() |
![]() | This technology doubles the frame rate from 60 to 120 frames per second (120Hz LCD panel) without repeating the same image to make more frames. Instead, the TV intelligently calculates the ‘middle' image between frame A and frame B and inserts it in between (Auto Motion Plus 120Hz processor), making a fluid transition from one frame to the next. | ![]() |
![]() | The NTSC (National Television Systems Committee) has established the color standards all TVs in America try to meet. And typical LCD TVs only meet about 72 percent of this standard. Samsung LCD HDTVs use Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp backlights to give you 92 percent coverage of the NTSC standard, ensuring truer, more breathlessly vivid colors. Samsung's Wide Color Enhancer 3 technology delivers more brilliant colors by expanding the gamut of color expression into a third axis, creating a 3D diagram of luminance. This creates a dynamic display of on-screen color and allows traditionally weak colors, such as green and blue, to look vivid and deep. In addition, red colors are enhanced to provide strong colors across the spectrum and the perfect balance of RGB. |
![]() | 80,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio will give you a picture better than you ever thought possible, with whiter whites, blacker blacks and a nearly infinite subtlety of gradations in between. As two of the most important determining factors in overall picture quality, contrast and brightness levels achieve new heights in this latest generation LCD panel. Samsung's new LCD TV's give the most stunning realistic picture quality ever. |
![]() | In 2008, Samsung created its unique Touch of Color (ToC) design, which uses dual-injection molding to coat a translucent, colored surface to achieve an attractive crystalline appearance. The latest evolution of Samsung's ToC design begins with a deep piano black bezel that fades into distinct chrome that finishes as light ruby highlights. The intensity of the color subtly changes depending upon the viewing angle, and further accentuates these TV's slim bezels. |
![]() | With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience. If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.

Very nice matte screen,
This review is from: Samsung LN46B630 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color (Electronics)
I just received this TV today. So far so good. I was seriously confused between 46b650 and 46b630 and I am very happy that I got 630. Since my room has good ambient light, I was looking for anti glare screen and 630 is a perfect fit. 650 is too glossy for my setting, it is very good for dark room setting but otherwise glare could be very annoying. Yes, 630 has 80000:1 vs 100000:1 for 650 and I did notice the slight difference in contrast. I am yet to tweak picture settings. I got this from Vanns for $1530, got it in 5 days with free shipping and free wall mount.
UPDATE 1/22/11 Too bad, just after about 18 months of usage, TV gave up. Fortunately I bought 3 year warranty from Amazon so I am getting reimbursement for replacement TV. Main board and Panel went bad.

Terrific TV, price, delivery!,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Samsung LN46B630 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color (Electronics)
After having spent several months researching, considering options, & agonizing over choices, I am completely happy with this TV - can actually say, `I love it!' Therefore, for the first time ever, I'm providing a customer review:
Picture quality: SD very good & much better than expected; HD quality terrific. Better than what I expected based on the display loops they run at Best Buy. Motion flow produces very smooth picture. DVD quality: Terrific; better than expected. (Don't have Blu-ray) Matte screen: My room is very bright. Samsung's ultra-clear panel on the 650 model is as shiny & reflective as glass - like looking in a mirror. The 630's matte screen is perfect for my needs, yet I'm still getting a very clear picture with great contrast ratio. I only knew this model existed by reading customer comments at Amazon, as Samsung doesn't appear to promote this model. Settings: TV has lots of options for picture & sound settings. Easy to adjust, test, play around with. Connection to Cable Box/DVR: To be able to use my cable DVR remote with the TV, I had to call the cable company to get the volume control to work - just needed a special code. Sound: OK; better than expected. Set aesthetics: Attractive. Originally nervous about the red Touch of Color - but it is very subtle; looks more brown/burgundy. Does NOT look like the bright red stripe that is pictured in Amazon's product info. Amazon `Enhanced Delivery': Very good. Delivery by CEVA was on-time. Team of two guys took their shoes off at the door without being asked, unpacked the TV, mounted it on the stand, placed it on my TV console, & hooked up connections to cable. Warranty: Set comes with standard one-year warranty from Samsung. But, for peace of mind, I added an additional two-year warranty (for a total of 3-yrs coverage) offered by Square Trade for Amazon customers for just an extra $99. This Amazon/SquareTrade package is a much better extended warranty deal than I could have gotten from other retail or online sellers.

This review is from: Samsung LN46B630 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color (Electronics)
I decided to buy this TV after doing about 3 months of research. Initially I was ready to buy LED TV(which was additional $1000), but settled on this. The TV came in 2 DAYS!!! with the Free shipping.. I've been using this TV for the past 4 days, so far I love it. picture is probably the best on this tv. I have fios, which is great on this TV. I have this in my living room which has a lot of windows, it works great there. The audio i was a bit disappointing, but who cares, I'll be plugging this into my receiver. For this price you cannot beat it..far better than SONY (non led), and SHARP.
Pros: -Great picture, -Great contrast, color, -HDMI connections. -Ethernet plug in for the Info Link and updating Firmware -USB HDD/Flash plug in for playing photos, movies (havent tried this yet) -Great Remote -User Interface is great -Lighter (40 lbs) -One man installation Cons: -Speakers are sub par, you def need to hook up to home theater.
