Very satisfied, March 10, 2008
This review is from: Samsung Mini MiniBlue Bluetooth Blue Tooth Headset WEP500 (Samsung Retail) (Wireless Phone)
I used to be a fan of the tiny Samsung WEP-200 Bluetooth headset. This, therefore, caught my attention as even smaller and with noise cancelling abilities.
I love the headset, and the following features in particular.
1. Like the WEP-200, this one comes with a carrying case (that doubles as a charger). I damaged many a headset carrying it around in my pocket, and this design works very well to prevent that. Yes, you can lose the case but then you can lose the headset too. However, the WEP-500 uses a much more standard connector for the charger, so at least in theory I can use an universal charger rather than the unique flat connector that WEP-200 used. The case is a little bigger than the WEP-200, though.
2. Its small. I hate looking like an extra from Star Trek, so small is important. The coin shape of the WEP-500 essentially means it is invisible except in profile. Its light enough that there's absolutely no sensation of weight in your ear.
3. I like in-your-ear headsets - not everyone does. All of them hurt your ear a little initially, as they rely on pressure to keep things in place. It takes a few days for my ear to adjust, much like a new shoe. The WEP-500 comes with two different kinds of in-your-ear shapes - one shaped like a small loop (similar to the WEP-200) and the default - a small angled bump. The loops come in three sizes, the bump in one size. I love the bump, but I guess if your ear is smaller or larger you'll have to try the loop. The interesting thing is - it feels a little shaky - but I've often cycled wearing it for many miles on bad roads and it has never fallen off.
3. The WEP-500 has noise and echo cancellation, and the sound is far better than the earlier WEP-500 or the wired Jabra Eargel headsets I used earlier. Volume has not been a problem for me even in noisy situations, unlike the WEP-200.
4. Battery life is quite remarkable for something so small. On occassional use (15-20min a day) it lasts about 5 days without a charge. Even with heavy use, it lasts longer than my cellphone.
5. The button takes a little getting used to. It can easily be pressed by mistake, but after a few days of use I found myself changing the way I hold the headset to avoid that. Its a problem only when putting the headset into your ear; once it is in, the button being easy to press is a good thing.
6. Comfort. I can easily where this all day with no more sensation than a slight loss of hearing in one ear. Thats after the first few days, of course - initially your ear will be slightly sore from the pressure points.
All in all - highly recommended. The only gripes I have are:
1. The shape of the carry case/charger - thinner and flatter would make it a little easier to carry.
2. I don't like the silver trim. I would have preferred an all-black version.

Just ok, December 21, 2007
This review is from: Samsung Mini MiniBlue Bluetooth Blue Tooth Headset WEP500 (Samsung Retail) (Wireless Phone)
For the size its pretty good, however have two problems. 1. the range is not good. i leave my living room to the bed room and i lost pairing with my handset which isnt even 12 feet away. 2. The inner ear piece Its way too big for my ears and so it wont easily stayed in. wish the inner ear piece was smaller. Reception is good for most of the people who called me, and they have no complains so far. Give it a 7 out of 10 for talk time and 9 out of 10 for standby.Pairing is pretty easy well i have a samsung sync.

GREAT bluetooth!, June 11, 2008
I have tried many different bluetooth headsets and have hated them all! I never found one that was comfortable enough or that fit right. I ordered this one as a last-ditch effort to find one to use while driving. It takes a little while to get used to as the call button is ill-placed (I am constantly re-dialing my last call by accident while placing it in my ear), but overall, I love this little gadget! And its very small, so it's not standing out there like a sore thumb. Call quality is great, no feedback either. I have had this for a week and haven't had to recharge it yet. Kudos to Samsung for this wonderful little device!
