This review is from: Samsung Mini MiniBlue Bluetooth Blue Tooth Headset WEP500 (Samsung Retail) (Wireless Phone)
I used to be a fan of the tiny Samsung WEP-200 Bluetooth headset. This, therefore, caught my attention as even smaller and with noise cancelling abilities.
I love the headset, and the following features in particular. 1. Like the WEP-200, this one comes with a carrying case (that doubles as a charger). I damaged many a headset carrying it around in my pocket, and this design works very well to prevent that. Yes, you can lose the case but then you can lose the headset too. However, the WEP-500 uses a much more standard connector for the charger, so at least in theory I can use an universal charger rather than the unique flat connector that WEP-200 used. The case is a little bigger than the WEP-200, though. 2. Its small. I hate looking like an extra from Star Trek, so small is important. The coin shape of the WEP-500 essentially means it is invisible except in profile. Its light enough that there's absolutely no sensation of weight in your ear. 3. I like in-your-ear headsets - not everyone does. All of them hurt your ear a little initially, as they rely on pressure to keep things in place. It takes a few days for my ear to adjust, much like a new shoe. The WEP-500 comes with two different kinds of in-your-ear shapes - one shaped like a small loop (similar to the WEP-200) and the default - a small angled bump. The loops come in three sizes, the bump in one size. I love the bump, but I guess if your ear is smaller or larger you'll have to try the loop. The interesting thing is - it feels a little shaky - but I've often cycled wearing it for many miles on bad roads and it has never fallen off. 3. The WEP-500 has noise and echo cancellation, and the sound is far better than the earlier WEP-500 or the wired Jabra Eargel headsets I used earlier. Volume has not been a problem for me even in noisy situations, unlike the WEP-200. 4. Battery life is quite remarkable for something so small. On occassional use (15-20min a day) it lasts about 5 days without a charge. Even with heavy use, it lasts longer than my cellphone. 5. The button takes a little getting used to. It can easily be pressed by mistake, but after a few days of use I found myself changing the way I hold the headset to avoid that. Its a problem only when putting the headset into your ear; once it is in, the button being easy to press is a good thing. 6. Comfort. I can easily where this all day with no more sensation than a slight loss of hearing in one ear. Thats after the first few days, of course - initially your ear will be slightly sore from the pressure points. All in all - highly recommended. The only gripes I have are: 1. The shape of the carry case/charger - thinner and flatter would make it a little easier to carry. 2. I don't like the silver trim. I would have preferred an all-black version.

For the size its pretty good, however have two problems. 1. the range is not good. i leave my living room to the bed room and i lost pairing with my handset which isnt even 12 feet away. 2. The inner ear piece Its way too big for my ears and so it wont easily stayed in. wish the inner ear piece was smaller. Reception is good for most of the people who called me, and they have no complains so far. Give it a 7 out of 10 for talk time and 9 out of 10 for standby.Pairing is pretty easy well i have a samsung sync.

GREAT bluetooth!,

I have tried many different bluetooth headsets and have hated them all! I never found one that was comfortable enough or that fit right. I ordered this one as a last-ditch effort to find one to use while driving. It takes a little while to get used to as the call button is ill-placed (I am constantly re-dialing my last call by accident while placing it in my ear), but overall, I love this little gadget! And its very small, so it's not standing out there like a sore thumb. Call quality is great, no feedback either. I have had this for a week and haven't had to recharge it yet. Kudos to Samsung for this wonderful little device!

I have no idea what the bad reviews are on this headset. This thing is incredible. Incredibly comfortable, incredibly powerful, incredibly high tech! I use this headset on a daily basis with an Apple Iphone. The perfomance, battery life, call quality is absolutely perfect! It's comfortable enough that I have forgotten that I am wearing it until I get a phone call and it beeps. It takes some getting used to as far as the "proper" fit in your ear. I say proper as you'll need to do some adjustments and trial and error with the enclosed ear pieces to get just the right fit. It also takes some getting used to putting it in while it's on because you'll hit the on/off button. So to solve that, I keep it off until I get it in. Press the on/off button and it's good to go. Battery life is great. I usually get about 2 to 2 1/2 days of use. The charging is super quick unlike my Motorola headset that I had that was ridiculous. I like the little charging case because it stores it, keeps it relatively dust free and ensures that I don't lose it. I honestly recommend this as a 9 out of 10. It's an incredible bargain here in Amazon and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Very small, light and comfortable headset. Great sound quality. Make sure you choose right eargel (choice of 4 included) to keep in ear. There is no earhook included (can order optional earhook from Samsung). If not set in ear right, the headset can fall out. Can wear all day comfortably. Large call button on top of headset. It takes a few days to get used to not pushing call button accidentally. Adjust fit of headset by grabbing it on the bottom.

I've had several bluetooth headsets before. Surprisingly, being so small, people hear clearly when a talk to them, even on crowded areas! And the volume is great also. Ther earpiece is very small and light. You tend to forget you're wearing it! One design problen thoug... the multifunction button is located in the back, and you constantly press it by accident when placing it on your ear. I solved this problem by placing it in my ear when turned off. Once in the erar I turn it on. Problem solved!
Another problem I encoutered was that after a while the earpiece tended to slip out of my ear. I tried all the attachments but none worked for me. After several hours I was having to acomodate it constantly, making calls by accident in the process. I solved this problem by ordering a set of Jabra Clear Ear Gels. Now the earpiece fits like a globe, and I can wear it all day without worry. It never falls off your ear! And it's so comftable you really forget you're wearring it. If you get this product, get the ear gels. You wont regret it! Thumbs up! Get one!

This headset is like a wild mustang if you want to make it work. It has some of the best well-thought of features available in the market if you are willing to spend time to tame it. First off the pros, the profile is just insane when compared to most of the headsets out there. Pairing is convenient, just once; then as long as your phone's bluetooth is on-you just have to switch the headset on & it pairs automatically. I also like the charger design.
Now the cons: I do agree that the multi-function button can be easily pressed when adjusting, positioning or putting it on but with discipline and proper handling this can be avoided. You can purge your calls history, put it on first then turn it on or avoid touching the button by handling it by the sides. I don't think it's the location of the button rather the function. What I mean is that for the redialing feature, they could've made it to be pressed 2x than once or have it pressed for 2 seconds or so-I think that's the problem. There is no better place to put it than where it currently is. You also have to spend time studying how to have it fit the right way in your ear. I had to experiment with it with the diff eargel adapters but came to the conclusion that the original is still the best for me. Bottom line is that this is an excellent headset but you have to spend time to study the strengths and weaknesses which is present in everything. Being an engineer by trade, I made it a habit to carefully analyze gadgets before drawing a conclusion prematurely, study the functions and think why they designed it the way they did. Some people whine and complain because they're too lazy to sit down and study items that they miss the good things they have to offer.

This bluetooth headset is great. Small size (as the size of a quarter), light weight, I don't even feel it in my ear sometime. It does not come with a ear hook, but it would not drop even I jumped. It is easy to connect with your phone. The sound quality is good in a quiet surrounding. If you leave your radio on in your car, it will be noizy to the person whom you're talking to. There were a few times when I made a phone call,my caller complained that they could not hear me. But as I hung up & call back again, it was fine. It will beep to notify me when my cell phone lost signal. Anyway, I love this headset.

Samsung WEP500 Very Good, not Great,
By David J (Arroyo Grande, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Samsung Mini MiniBlue Bluetooth Blue Tooth Headset WEP500 (Samsung Retail) (Wireless Phone)
I paired the Samsung WEP500 with no problems with my Verizon LG EnV 9900. Setup was a snap. Voice commands work fine. Nice small size and no annoying ear hooks. The quality of the sound is good. Everyone can hear me just fine. The buttons are ultra-sensitive so you have to use caution when touching the unit to make adjustments or whatever. The only problem I have is that the earpiece and adapters don't fit into my ear canal. It needs to be a bit longer and the rubber earpiece adapters aren't of much use. I ended up buying for a few bucks some ipod type earpiece adapters and now I have a nice snug fit. If you don't like the earpiece going into your ear canal, than this isn't for you since there is no earhook. You have to get a snug fit to keep it into your ear or else it will fall out. For the price and the nice small size it is very good.
