Great For Console Gaming, September 9, 2010
This review is from: Samsung P2350-1 23-Inch Widescreen Touch of Color LCD Monitor - Rose Black (Personal Computers)
In my research I came across only a handful of displays that were suitable for console gaming in this price range. Samsung is known for its great LCD's and this one is gorgeous. The colors are crisp and the refresh rate is awesome. The touch buttons are cool and the black frame with red bezel is downright sexy. I use this to play my Xbox 360 (via an hdmi to dvi cable) which upscales to 1080p very well. The image was much sharper than my 720p Hitachi LCD. My only complaints are the limited connectivity and it can't really be tilted vertically.

Great for video playback, June 29, 2010
This review is from: Samsung P2350-1 23-Inch Widescreen Touch of Color LCD Monitor - Rose Black (Personal Computers)
I use this monitor exclusively for editing HD video. The imagery is sharp and smooth. I have connected it to more than one PC and I like the way the monitor is quickly recognized by each computer and how the monitor automatically conforms to the current graphic card settings of the PC. I am very pleased with the product.

Good monitor but stand broke in 90 days, April 30, 2011
This review is from: Samsung P2350-1 23-Inch Widescreen Touch of Color LCD Monitor - Rose Black (Personal Computers)
This is an attractive and well functioning monitor. Other reviews cover the video and operating aspects adequately, and other reviews have mentioned the weakness of the stand.
In my case the stand broke out of the monitor (the plastic cracked at the screws). It was not subjected to abuse; it just sits on my desk. I don't even adjust it very often. It was loose and floppy from day one, and today it just broke off and fell on the desk! If you Google around, you will find this is pretty common with this monitor.
So why do I rate it two stars? Well, the video is really nice. But a great monitor that can't be used (without holding it up with two hands) doesn't deserve a great rating no matter how good the video is. If you need to buy a VESA stand with the monitor, then that puts the cost into the category of a higher quality monitor which makes it less of a value. Whatever way you slice it I think the rating should be dinged heavily.
This isn't part of my rating but I think other buyer should know about post-purchase support: I'll probably buy a VESA stand because warranty service is problematic. I went to Samsung's site and tried to request warranty repair and the website tells me my email address is invalid, my address is invalid, and then pops up error messages and is incapable of creating a service request because it can't find a UPS location nearby. One of the pop-ups warned me that because I didn't "correct" my address I might have web-site problems. But since I correctly entered my address and email I'm at a loss to know how to "correct" them. Of course, the problem is a crappy web application that incorrectly gets its knickers in a twist over valid data. But it does help to keep the warranty costs down if people like me can't place our claims... ;-)
