When you switch from viewing television to DVDs, the Cinema Progressive Scan feature will convert any nondigital signals to 720 lines, and 3:2 pulldown will remove unclear frames that may have been added when converted from film to video, giving the DVD a theater-quality appearance.
The PCN5425R also features a 3-line digital comb filter for improved picture quality, an advanced dual tuner picture-in-picture (PIP) with stock ticker mode, and translucent onscreen display so that you can still watch video in the background while navigating through on-screen menus. Sound mode presets like Standard, Music, Movie, and Speech ensure that no matter what you're watching, the sound is set at the ideal levels. Parents will appreciate the V-Chip, which lets them block sensitive channels or programs that incorporate the rating code signal.
In order to experience digital HDTV, you must purchase a separate HDTV tuner or HD satellite/off-air receiver.
The PCN5425R sports numerous inputs and outputs for a variety of connections. The side S-video input allows for convenient connection to a video game console, while the rear S-video and three composite-video connections are ideal for DVD players, a VCR, or other audio/video device. Additionally, there are 3 1080i HD wideband inputs, 2 RF in/1 out, 3 analog L/R inputs, and 1 set L/R line out.
What's in the Box
Samsung PCN5425R rear-projection television, remote control, 2 AAA batteries, instruction book, and warranty information.

Awesome TV with great HD picture!,

This review is from: Samsung PCN5425R 54-Inch Rear Projection HD-Ready TV (Electronics)
My wife bought this TV for me about 3 or 4 years ago when there were probably no more than 20 or so HD channels on Direct TV. This TV outperforms televisions that cost thousands more! I chose this set because of the 4:3 aspect ratio (because most channels at the time were still 4:3 ratio) but it also will switch to widescreen format to watch HD channels in true widescreen! The colors are bright and the only downside to thist set is that it is HUGE and requires a special spot somewhere in your living room because it takes up a lot of space (imagine a 4ft diameter). Very good tv to buy!
