5.0 out of 5 stars Samsung P3
Great product. I love the storage space available. The FM radio function works well on very strong signals from close broadcasting towers, but not well with some other stations a little further away. In other words, you might not pick up all the stations that you normally get on a car FM radio. The record feature from an FM radio source is nice.

3.0 out of 5 stars P3 vs Sony X
I'm a portable audiophile in that I search for the best in portable audio. I heard great things about this player so I bought it to compared with my Sony X series Walkman.

While the sound is pretty good in the P3, bass is almost non-existent (EQ off). The bass is much stronger on the Walkman and warmer, too making it much more suitable for jazz. Jazz on the...

Great product. I love the storage space available. The FM radio function works well on very strong signals from close broadcasting towers, but not well with some other stations a little further away. In other words, you might not pick up all the stations that you normally get on a car FM radio. The record feature from an FM radio source is nice.

The graphics are great looking for display of video and pictures. I like the slide show capability when showing pictures. I like to play games, but not totally pleased with the choices of games that come pre-loaded on the unit. The small size of the unit and small images make it hard to be exact with your fingers on the touch screen on fast pace games. Even a slow pace game such as Suduko is sometimes hard to highlight the proper square on the first try. Other than the choices of games, I like the product very much and would recommend it to others to purchase.

Computer sync and interface is fairly easy to accomplish when loading media on the unit.

Tip...Make sure you order the car and wall chargers (sold separately). The computer USB charger is the only recharge capability that comes in the box. The battery charge life is pretty good, but you'll need to have multiple options to charge it if you use the unit a lot.

This MP3 Player trumps the others in my stable.
I own the T-10 and the P-2,all purchased thru Amazon. This 16MB player has all that you could want.Audio quality is the main reason that I purchased this player. It includes customizable desk screens. You can choose from clocks, memo pads, calendars and more.Example: put your finger on the P3's wide screen and you get a reassuring touch right back! This is the HAPTIC sensor.Scroll and you feel a mild rumble.Drag your fingers across the screen and you feel a light click.Sync vibrations by turning on the "Vibe Woofer".
It includes a mono speaker and an FM Radio. It is built around a glass screen and an aluminum casing. Well built and feels right. It has a built in flash player(movies) and great gadgets built right in. If you want a solid crafted player, great sound a nd a plethora of features, this is for you. Try it,you will love it. And the great price was also a big plus.

4.0 out of 5 stars What Matters, July 31, 2010

I bought this player to replace a Creative Zen that I love. The Zen no longer holds a charge. What matters most to me is the sound quality of the music I listen to via mp3. I'm very picky. The Samsung P3 is excellent in delivering sound quality, so I'm pretty happy.

HOWEVER: I found the software, Emodio, confusing and difficult to use. I'm still adjusting to the player itself. Just trying to do the simplest things can be hard. For example, there is a full graphic equalizer. But since you must adjust it via your finger tip - good luck! And the few times I've managed to adjust the equalizer, the changes don't seem to hold. I know I'm not doing something correctly, but God knows what that could be.

There are also features that I could care less about and seem cumbersome - the "Notes", the to-do list feature, is much too time-consuming for me.

And you should consider doing what I will be doing - ordering a skin or case for the player. If you don't, when you are holding the player, it will easily slip or pop out of your hand. It's a very small and slick (literally) device.

Bottom line, if you are techie enough, you'll probably like this player. It helps if you have previously owned another mp3 player. Most tasks with the Samsung are intuitive - IF - you have previous experience.

Since the pleasure of listening to my favorite songs in high quality reproduction is paramount with me, I'm happy with this player. It's what matters to me.

PROS: The Samsung P3 is a superb digital audio music player. It has built-in Bluetooth so you can connect to your PC, headset, or vehicle's Bluetooth device. The display is crisp and easy to navigate. The sound quality is simply awesome. It's the best sound quality I have ever heard from any device, including all iPod models. My father has an iPod Nano, and I've tried them all at the Apple store and compared the sound quality. You should install the Samsung EmoDio music management software which has certain features you may like. But you don't need it. To update the firmware, it is really easy, you just download the file from Samsung's website and transfer it to the device's root folder. Then unplug the USB connection to your PC, turn off the device, and turn it back on and the device will automatically install the firmware update.

To transfer music I like to use Windows Media Player 12 which comes with Windows 7, you can drag and drop your favorite playlists or music sorted by genre, and it is neatly categorized in the device. The transfer rate is awesome, full sized high quality MP3's transfer in a flash.

The video playback is superb too.

CONS: The only negative is that because it is such a great device, it's too bad it did not come with WiFi WPA/WPA2 and a browser app so I could surf the Internet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Sound, June 24, 2010

I don't have much to say except, if you are looking for the perfect sound look no further. This is the best music player you've ever heard. An added plus is the ability to download free flash game from the internet. You won't be able to play all games but its a cool feature. Nice first attempt Samsung. Video Quality is also great. My only gripe is i wish it has a bigger screen.

This player is perfect. It looks 100 times better in person. The sound quality is better than all the rest. I haven't even hooked up my hifi earbuds yet. I have owned the Cowon D2 which I believe to have the best sound quality and this is the same or better. Just buy it already.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, September 28, 2010
This review is from: Samsung P3 Palm Theatre Plus 16 GB MP3 Player (Silver) (Electronics)
I got my mp3 yesterday and I couldn't put it down. It is so easy and fun to use, easy to set up and works very well. The reason I took one star off is that downloading videos to the mp3 is very difficult. It says it support mpeg4, rmvb, and some other formats but IT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THESE FORMATS!!! But .wvm works though. Other than that, I'm pleased with everything else. It's just like ipod, but in my opinion, it is a way better product than ipod and the price is more reasonable too. You have games, calculator, subway maps, pictures, bluetooth and much more features that are available. The screen is pretty big compared to ipod. I personally bought this so I can load videos and watch them while i work out in the gym but so far, I could only download three videos, I'm still trying to figure out how to make this work. I know Amazon on Demand definately does not work. I bought a movie on CinemaNow, hopefully I can watch it on this mp3. If it works, I'll let you guys know. Downloading songs and pictures are easy, works like other mp3s. If you're still hesitating, DON'T!! Just get it! It is worth the price.

3.0 out of 5 stars P3 vs Sony X, September 16, 2010
By

This review is from: Samsung P3 Palm Theatre Plus 16 GB MP3 Player (Silver) (Electronics)

Jazz on the P3 sounded cold and chirpy. However, pop and hip hop sounded great if not better on the P3 than the Walkman. The P3 also requires premium headphones to fully take advantage of its sound. Using cheap ear buds on the P3 will produce similar music quality as the Ipod - just unacceptable if you want best in sound.

The Bad:
-Missing physical play and skip buttons (however, it will play instantly when you turn it on if you turned it off while it was playing) But I cannot skip to next song without using touch screen
-Horrible, horrible user interface - confusing and on the brink of being unusable. Tiny physical volume buttons. Touch screen is not slick at all.
-phone jack is at the bottom. For those putting the player in your shirt pocket, you're screwed.

The Good:
-Beautiful brush metal finish (The back looks better than the Ipod)
-Can delete songs on player
-Can create on the fly play lists on player
-Unusual ability to repeat specific sections of a song
-Speaker (but sounds horrible)
-World time and calendar
-Play speed (Not ffwd, but can make song sound faster)
-Much lighter than the X series Walkman

Overall, even though it has some cool features, I can not recommend this product because it does not play jazz music very well and has next to no features for blind navigation.
