After owning these for a little over a week now, I can say I am pleased enough to write a review. The Laptop I am using these on is my HP DV6700 Special Edition, it is white just like the speakers so these will go perfect with the Mac Book or any White notebook. They also have them in Black.

The sound on these speakers are better and go much higher than my inbuilt speakers on my notebook, while I wouldn't recommended blasting them on the highest volume they do offer a better solution to using laptop speakers. I like that it uses usb to power them but it has it's draw backs, some times the sound stops, it's very brief about a second but it's noticeable, at first I though the music I ripped from the disc jumped due to a scratched disc, so I played an mp3 and it does the same, only seems to happen during playback at high volumes though.

They aren't the most powerful speakers nor do they have a kick in base, so don't expect booming sound, you can use any equalizer settings in your music player and increase the bass, just don't go to far with it. These do work with Vista but it's best if you let Vista locate and install the drivers automatically, if you intend on using the disc you'll need to right click the disc in my computer and go to properties, change the compatibility mode to run on Windows Xp Sp2 and the disc will run. (Note) even after getting the disc to install on Vista you can only use the surround sound emulation on Actual Windows Xp computers.

I Rate them a 5 due to portability, convenience, they are nice and small, ease of use, sound quality being better than my inbuilt notebook speakers, and the fact that I knew what I was buying. If you want more kick from bass buy 2.1 speakers with a sub woofer or 5.1 speakers, both of those will need an ac adapter. I love the fact that these are powered by usb which makes them just as portable as my notebook, while not for blasting music through the house watching movies is much easier now as I can get higher sound, one thing I wish you could do and I have tried is the ability to play both these and my inbuilt laptop speakers simultaneously. If you need portable speakers, or speakers powered by usb because you don't want to use another a/c power jack and you want an alternative to your notebooks inbuilt speakers buy these, if your an audiophile get 2.1 or surround sound speakers not these.

These looked like a good set of simple speakers for my pc, but the fact that they sound tinny, as well as the issue of having no volume knob, or headphone jack, makes them pretty useless.

Bought new PC with Windows 7. Could not upgrade the speakers driver. Samsung does not offer one, forums did not help either. Speakers are not bad but uselesss now...

I will start off with the fact that I did not buy these for their amazing sound. Their sound quality is pretty good, and can get them to go pretty loud if I need them to. The reason I got them was because I wanted a pair of cheap speakers that I can bang around and they are perfect for just that, they have lasted me longer than any other set I've had in the past, and I like the fact that they are white. All around great buy for a non sound snob!

You can get the Samsung Pleomax 7000x Digital USB Speakers to work with windows 7 32/64bit by downlaoding and instaling the latest driver from pleomax.com (which at the time of this review dos not work with windows 7) than download and install and the C-Media CM-102 Windows 7 Driver from X-DRIVERS.COM (go to drivers / sound cards / c-media / CM-102) after this the USB Speaker configuration utility will look kind of scrambled up but every thing should work fine.

The Samsung Pleomax Digital USB Speakers are good, cheap, compact, energy efficient, durable(I've had mine for about 2 years and they are still working fine), fairly portable and surprisingly loud for their seize making them good speakers for a computer desk with limited space or a laptop.

Just recently I've built us a new compact Mini ITX(Mini ITX computers are about 1/3 of the size of a standard desktop) window 7 64bit desktop to replace our old and very slow XP laptop and it took me several hours to finally get the speaker drivers to work so I thought I should write a review so some one else wouldn't have to go though so much hassle.

I bought these speakers to plug into my MacBook to watch movies. They sound great but there is very little bass so I wouldn't recommend these for listening to music. One important thing is that they use up a lot of battery power from my computer so I usually end up plugging my laptop into an electrical outlet towards the end of the movie. Also, the speakers look white in the picture but they are really a pearly off white in person. I'd much rather that they were real white to go with my MacBook but they do what I bought them for.

I was surprised at the sound quality of these very small speakers. I use them mostly for gaming so cannot speak to music. But the bass is adequate and the mid and high tones are very good. My only complaint is they do not have a volume control on the speaker so you can adjust them without going into settings.

Good for the price. I use them for watching movies on the computer. If you listen to a lot of music, get better speakers. Tinny without much base for music.

love these speakers especially since they're white matching my computer! Also great sound for such a small speaker! Perfect to watch movies with too.
