The main feature on these speakers is that they can be USB-powered; no power outlet needed! They work seamlessly on my iMac using OS X 10.5.

These Pleomax speakers give pretty decent volume; I can get it pretty loud now in my 22' x 13' living room (probably ~50% louder than the iMac built-in speakers). You can't really increase the bass output or tweak the graphic EQ much, so not really recommended for people who care about music that much.

In case it's not clear from the product page, these guys are about 5" high and pretty heavy, so they stay put on a desk. Solid construction, but nothing special.

I purchased this product based on the reviews here. I needed cheap USB speakers that are shielded so they don't emit interference from nearby cellphones. This pair fits the bill.

These speakers are _not bad_ but the other reviews make it seem like they're great sounding, loud speakers. The fact is that they are not great, but they are probably better than what came with your computer -- or maybe not. Samsung makes quality products. These are compact, attractive and well built. At their price, they represent a good value and they do work either via speaker output (headphone) jack or USB, which is a great benefit. They are split from a single 1/8" headphone jack that plugs into an included USB dongle (which actually provides the sound card functionality; Vista instantly recognized and I did not use the included software on CD)

So buy them with the understanding that they are NOT surprisingly loud, as so many of these 5-star reviews made me believe. They are simply an above-average pair of small USB speakers.

Despite their small size(4.5h"*2.5w") and low power(0.4watt) the Samsung Pleomax PSP-7000XB USB Crystal 2.0-Channel Speakers sound output is quite loud and good quality.These speakers plenty powerful enough for tv, games, and music for most people, though as a previous reviewer stated they have very little bass and I doubt they'd be loud enough if you would like to be able to hear music throughout your whole house.

I setup our old computer as an secondary tv but I needed better speakers so I tried these. When I first took them out of the box I didn't think they would be powerfully enough because they were so small but they produced surprisingly loud and good quality sound.These speakers are also very portable because they use very little power and they receive both there sound and power from one USB port making them great laptop speakers.Though they clam to produce virtual 7.1 I didn't notice much difference when this was turned on or off but you might have to be in a very small room for this to work.

The included USB audio program can boost the volume up to 12dB with out any distortion(you can do this by clicking the digital volume button in the USB 3D Sound Configuration menu and moving the two volume sliders to +12dB).

Also you can use the 7.1 virtual surround sound with headphones(and it sounds better with headphones then it does with the speakers) by plugging your headphones in to the speakers' USB adapter, going in to the USB 3D Sound Configuration menu, switching the USB audio program to headphone mode, and turning down the speaker volume by clicking the digital volume button and moving the two volume sliders to -20dB.

Just got the speakers and hooked it up to my vista laptop and it worked immediately without the need to install additional drivers (windows might have done it in the background). The sound is awesome! Had expected flattish sounds from these two speakers but it is rich! Very happy with the purchase :) Volume is loud too and I could hear the music clearly from the living room with speakers hooked up in the study).

Early delivery and great pricing. Speakers are good looking, great sound and small size. Couldn't be more pleased.

These speakers are great. They are nice looking and compact, and they offer great sound quality. I bought them mainly for volume, since my laptop's speakers aren't very loud. They add a great deal of volume while maintaining a high level of sound quality.

I just received these today. They worked right out of the box. Windows XP recognized them without any problems. They work. The sound is clear, but very shallow and weak. These speakers have absolutely no depth. They're almost as bad as my sub-par laptop speakers. I give them two stars because they actually DO work and the speakers are attractive looking. They'd work all right for travel, but for full-time every day speakers... I want something that actually has some depth.

The nice thing is that they come with a speaker jack usb adapter that I can plug my OLD speakers into and use in my usb port, which solves the problem that lead me to wanting to replace my old ones in the first place. My old $20 creative labs speakers sound like gold compared to the samsung pleomax ones I just bought.

Since I paid less for my old ones and after two years, they still sound better than these, I can't even say that these are good for being cheapie speakers. They're crappy.

Once you get over the product packaging, user manual and labeling; which all had a decidedly foreign feel, the speakers themselves sound great. They sound much better when connected through USB 2.0 than they do on USB 1.0 (although this too is passable). For the price they are a welcomed upgrade to the quality and power of standard laptop speakers. If I had one suggestion, it would be that the speakers come with a standard USB connection, instead of requiring a somewhat clunky adapter. However, for the price, I can understand why they went this way.

The only reason I give these speakers one star is because there's no 'zero' option. The sound is actually worse than the integral speakers on my laptop - 75% top, 25% middle and no discernible bass end. The USB dongle is badly engineered - it was loose in the USB slot, and the mini jack was loose in the dongle. On a friends say-so, I've now tried the Logitech X-140, and I can recommend these speakers without hesitation.
