I purchased my 26X series Samsung French-door refrigerator and also had the good fortune to remember to buy a Lowe's 4-year extended warranty.

Samsung products are junk, plain and simple. Once Korean-made quality products they are now made in China and are garbage. Samsung does not support their products unless you know how to create trouble for them.

Just a month after the Samsung warranty expired the icemaker reservoir did, too. That was repaired under the extended warranty the first, second, and third time. The bottom freezer gasket failed and was replaced. The freezer light switch failed and was replaced. Five days after the technician replaced the entire icemaker system the water dispenser failed. After replacing the main circuit board in back, the front control panel, lines, water switch and water reservoir with no luck the technician declared the refrigerator "unrepairable."

After the icemaker failed for the third time and the lower gasket and switch and the main CB had failed and been replaced I sent an email to Samsung Support from their website. What I got in response was that Samsung considers these types and numbers of failures within less than two years since purchase "Normal wear and tear."

Chatting online the representative apologized but refused to escalate my issues to a higher level ("Not allowed").

I contacted Lowe's Home Office and advised them of my problems and the fact of so many negative reviews in Amazon as well as the Class Action lawsuit against Samsung for selling several models of refrigerators with KNOWN defective compressors. Lowe's promised to look into the matter.

I waited a few days and then did another online chat.

Don't buy it. It has ruined my floors. The coils are now freezing. There is a class action lawsuit out on this fridge for the frozen coil defect. Not happy.

An update for you regarding my floors. Samsung contacted me and offered to pay for an assessment of the fridge (not repair). The man came out and said it was a nipple in the drain tube that freezes. They now have an "upgrade" which is longer than the original. The engineers messed up the first time. They said the part and repair is my responsibility at $250. I got a repair bid on the floor for $3500. I submitted this to Samsung at their request early April. Since then it has gone through many "layers" of their bureaucracy including "the president." Now it is in the hands of their insurance company which could take up to 14 business days to process. We're now 2 weeks past that and Samsung says they have no control over the insurance company and when they might call. We have a $3500 repair on our hands unless this company decides to do the right thing. Very disappointing to say the least.

We have owned our refrigerator for 3 years and it is on it 6th repair. Samsung will not do anything to assist thier customers. The problems started one month after the one year warranty. Parts take weeks to get. This has been a nightmare of an appliance.

Well, buy a Samsung fridge if you need a massive pile of crap in your kitchen...

Buy a Samsung Fridge only if you don't like ice makers... Ours is about 3 years old. The Ice maker quit about 6 months ago. We contacted Samsung for repairs. They sent their factory authorized repair service, A&E Factory Service. They actually had the nerve to ask $535 dollars to fix the ice maker. Buyer Beware. Samsung = high dollar JUNK.

After being contacted by Samsung concerning my complaints with their product, I am updating my above review.
Samsung sent their repair service out to repair my ice maker. While they did pay for the parts, I was still left with the labor portion of the repair which came to about $180. It took 3 appointments for them to finally get it right which cost me quite a bit more money in lost wages.

Bought the "JD Power & Assoc Highest Rated" Samsung suite of products at Lowes: This refrigerator, a smooth top oven (elec), microwave and a dishwasher. Have had 6 service calls on the group. Finally replaced the dishwasher due to its inability to clean. Now my refrigerator is not cooling. Unbelievable. Only 4.5 years old and had bought the 3 yr service agreement from Lowes. Fixes are now my financial responsibility. Run away....far, far away. Awful stuff.

In my opinion, what I like most about this refrigerator is the convenient layout inside and easy access to both top and bottom storage areas: in this sense French door fridges seem great, love it. However, this SAMSUNG fridge may suffer from a design or manufacturing flaw, I don't know just my opinion from being the owner of one for three years. over this time the fridge ALWAys appears to have ice build up in the top fridge section on the back panel and it seems that the ice melts and water drips down and collects under the deli tray. We didn't notice this until the deli tray would not move--it was stuck because it was sitting on a solid bed of ice as the water that ha dripped down then started freeze. This is totally inexcuseable, modern frost free fridge that apparently seems to have frost/ice build up and requires monthly defrosting of the fridge section--NOT the freezer.

I bought this appliance from Sears. I will NEVER buy any Samsung product of any kind so long as I have choices, as this appears to be designed or manufactured improperly, in my opinion having been the owner of this thing for 3 years and having to bash ice from the top fridge and mop up water becomes ice every frickin' day. Now that we realize the problem we start everyday by pulling the deli tray out and mopping up the water that has accumulated so that we can avoid the massive ice sheet that will form if it is neglected.
If you like mopping up water and clearing ice from the top Fridge section, then this would appear to be the ideal fridge for you. In my opinion, this is the worst appliance that I have owned-and in my opinion, from my experience of how poorly this appliance eprforms, I would not buy another Samsung product of any kind--too much money on something with a serious flaw--it's a competitive market and if Samsung won't repair or replace then in my opinion I would not give that company any more business.
