Product Description

Breakthrough Picture Quality With LED Technology
Samsung's LED monitors deliver a visually stunning picture quality that leaves you speechless. Just as you’ve seen in Samsung LED TV’s, our LED monitors make colors more rich and the action more real than you’ve dreamt possible. Let the story come to life with vivid colors and crystal-clear detail.

Ultra Slim Design with High Glossy Finish
Remember when you replaced your bulky CRT monitor with a slimmer LCD monitor? The next leap forward is here. Samsung LED technology enables striking, ultra-thin displays. As slim as 11.4 mm, LED monitors add elegance to your desk. They are also very lightweight, making them easy to lift and move.

Perfect Viewing from Every Angle
Enjoy a rich, high contrast image from various angles of view, whether you’re viewing from straight on, above, below or the side. While the picture washes out on a normal monitor, Samsung MagicAngle offers consistently outstanding color and contrast.

Watch Full 1080p HD Video with HDMI
Monitors aren’t just for computers any more. Now you can watch TV programs, movies, or play your game console on your monitor too. Simply select a monitor with an HDMI port and connect it to your cable box, BluRay player, HD game system, or any other device with an HDMI output. Best of all, you can connect your computer to a different video port (VGA) and switch back and forth without having to unplug anything. To switch between inputs, press the “Source” button on the monitor.

Customer Reviews

I foolishly ordered this product before reading all the negative feedback about the flickering problem.
Ekbart van der Klunk
Every time the computer hooked up to it woke from sleep, the screen would flicker until it was unplugged and plugged back in.

I'm very happy with it and I'd recommend it to ANYONE with confidence who is looking for a larger, but affordable monitor.

I have connected this monitor to my computer: i5-2300 CPU @ 2.8 GHz, 8.00 GB of RAM, 64-bit Widows 7 Professional.

Upon first start (boot-up), I noticed that the monitor was far too bright for me. Especially, since I use CAD software and sometimes work with my face quite close to the monitor. After tinkering with the touch buttons at the lower right corner, I figured them out and managed to turn down the brightness to 29% (my comfort level). Even at this level of brightness, the whites are bright, colors are brilliant, and letters are easy to read.

After that, I installed (from the supplied diskette) Magic Tune, by downloading the latest version for Windows 7. The Magic Tune software was supposed to allow me to control monitor settings with the mouse, rather than with control buttons at the lower right corner of the bevel. Right after installing of Magic Tune, the computer started to restart itself in cycles or shut itself off completely. It wouldn't stay on long enough to allow me to make any changes. I finally started the computer in SAFETY MODE and uninstalled the Magic Tune. After that, everything worked fine.

I enjoy the big bright display, the colors and the sharpness, and I would have given it five stars, if it weren't for the problem with the Magic Tune software.

This (07/08/12) is the second day of me using this monitor. If I discover anything else that's interesting, I will update.

I have to say first that I didn't buy this on Amazon. I bought it at Sam's Club; they had a sale on it for $248. At that price this monitor is AMAZING. Even at the regular price (seems to fluctuate between $275-$300), after having the monitor for a week, I would gladly buy another should mine fail for any reason (or if I plan on having multiple monitors at any point).

First off, yes, the monitor comes at full brightness on default (which is bright, and looks great). Honestly don't see why this would be a problem since most people would calibrate it to their tastes anyways. I love this monitor because not only is it very high quality, it is very simply. No unnecessary packaging, no unnecessary buttons or ports (Only has a power, HDMI, and DVI inputs, looks great). The monitor is VERY sleek and thin, and the picture is great. Upon opening the box, everything was packaged well and the monitor had no dead pixels. I spend a lot of my time at the computer and play a lot of FPS's and other games, as well as watching movies and surfing the internet. It excels in all of these, but the monitor is absolutely stunning for games. I sit about 2 feet away from the monitor, and I can safely say that 27" is the absolute maximum I would go for my desk layout right now. It's a very large, but very sleek, crisp, responsive monitor. I'm very happy with it and I'd recommend it to ANYONE with confidence who is looking for a larger, but affordable monitor.

I liked everything about this Monitor except one major thing. Every time the computer hooked up to it woke from sleep, the screen would flicker until it was unplugged and plugged back in. It happened with three computers I tried it on. Nothing I tried fixed the issue except cutting the power. Returned and bought an Asus which I'm very happy with.

I thing is for sure: editing pictures on a 27" display is much better.

I'll start with one thing I don't like about it: the OSD control sensors. They only seem to react when touched in specific conditions. By the time I figured out where and how to put my finger on, the OSD window disappears and I have to start all over again. The good news is that the monitor comes with a driver/software allowing you to make the adjustments much easier, using your mouse.

Be aware that it doesn't come properly calibrated out of the box!

I used a Spyder4Pro calibration device to tune it and I got the following results:
- 97% of the sRGB gamut and
- 75% of the Adobe RGB/NTSC gamut

Since I use sRGB on my camera and PP software, I guess I'm pretty much in a "what you see is what you get" situation.

It has 3 gamma settings named Mode 1, 2 and 3. My measurements showed that Mode 1 = Gamma 1.8, Mode 2 - Gamma 2.0 and Mode 3 = Gamma 2.2 the response curves being pretty accurate.

In the "Standard" mode was measured the following brightness levels
Setting 0% -> 35 cd/m^2
Setting 25% -> 112 cd/m^2
Setting 50% -> 187 cd/m^2
Setting 75% -> 259 cd/m^2
Setting 100% -> 328 cd/m^2

Therefore the advertised brightness of 300 cd/m^2 is exceeded!

On the other hand I got the following contrast results:
Brightness 100% + Contrast 100% -> Contrast 810:1
Brightness 50% + Contrast 100% -> Contrast 760:1
Brightness 0% + Contrast 100% -> Contrast 380:1

Therefore the advertised 1000:1 contrast is NOT met! But it looks OK for my needs.

Really I don't understand how this monitor can be rated more than 1 star. It has problems with screen flickering. After the monitor wakes up from sleep, the screen will flicker and only plug out the power cord then in again fix this. THis model line has this issue and it's annoying as hell. SHame on Samsung for making this flawed product. Other than this, this is a very nice monitor.
