I had my color wheel go out on me in my 50" Samsung DLP (HLP5063WX), so I bought this color wheel to replace it. I had it for about 6 months now and so far it works great! The installation was easier than I thought. If you are installing this color wheel yourself, make sure you check out a few different tutorials on youtube or other websites, because some videos tell you to do extra steps that are not necessary.

The noise coming from my Samsung rear projection TV was a loud hum with a squeal underneath. I read some blogs and found the problem was the color wheel bearings go bad after a while. I have had this TV for 5 years. The order went smooth, the video installation instructions I found on youtube were spot on and the repair took less than an hour total. TV now works fine and the brightness and color are back to excellent.

For those who want to save some money, replacing a color wheel is not a hard fix and is well worth it. Take some time on the internet to help diagnose the issue. I thought at first that the ballast was bad on my TV because the picture would not come on and it was making a sound that, according to what I was reading on the internet, did not seem like the color wheel. But, if you take the time to eliminate the the most common problems, you will have better results. Find a video on U-Tube for a visual walk through on replacing a color wheel and the rest is pretty straight foreword.

I purchased the SAMSUNG BP96-0067A COLORWHEEL from River Valley Electronics through AMAZON.COM and could not be happier. I made sure that I matched the model # for my TV with the provided photos of the color wheel to be reassured that I was getting the part I needed. It installed perfectly and required no new settings to be programed into the TV.

I have a Samsung HL-P5063W 50" that I got in 2005. I've had to replace the lamp a few times, but several weeks ago I turned on the TV and heard a whirring noise that just wasn't right. It took about 2 hours from start to finish. If you have any ability to do basic geek work you can follow this and do it without paying the TV repairman hundreds. Now, the picture is better than ever. I did not have to add or remove any jumpers at all, and my color wheel was the older ball-bearing type which I replaced with this newer one with air-bearings. Dudes, you can do this!

Took a chance on this being air bearing. It was right one. Dropped right in, no recalibration needed. Lights on front indicated lamp out, incorrect. Load humming due to broken color wheel.

Under the same SS p/n is a non-air bearing. There is jumper to use air bearing as replacement for non-air, do google search.

I replaced the color wheel. The colors displayed on the screen were not correct. I then re-adjsted or tried to re-adjust the settings. When the face tones were near normal, the grass insteead of green was purple and what should have been blue was green. I then tried to take out the color wheel to see if somehow I had erred in the installation but when trying to un plug the small connector, the wires pulled out of the plug.I spliced on the connector from the old color wheel and re-installed the new color wheel, but alas, the colors were still not correct. May have to throw out this Samsung TV and purchase a new TV from some other manufacturer. E mailed Samsung customer service techs on numerous occasions but was always told to take the set to an authorized repair man. The last reply from Samsung was that maybe the lamp had to be replaced.

How wonderful it is to watch TV again without that annoying buzz! This color wheel was shipped quickly and works perfectly -- THANK YOU!

This is a low cost alternative to other options when your TV breaks. In addition to checking out tutorials on line, be sure to follow the paper instructions included in the shipping box, otherwise your colors will be off.

My samsung hl-p4663w dlp tv was making a loud noise.It same like a wheel spinning with a bad bearing. I oder this color wheel from samsung part store thru amazon.It was deliver to my house with in five days. I intalled the new color wheel with the help from youtube video.It took me about little more than one hour, i was going very careful.Remember to remove jumper sn810 , because the new one is air bearing.When i turn the tv back on,everything work and the noise is gone.Youtube video was a big help.

This is the air bearing color wheel, super quiet, no issues with jumpers and the part worked great. I was actually looking for the original ball bearing type and read some reviews on the newer air style type. What a difference, it doesn't " whril", when the tv turns on...silence. Thanks amazon.com
