Great hardware... software is questionable,

This hardware from Samsung is functional and does what it's designed to do.However, the only downfall to this product is the 3rd party software. The software (Nero) will slow you down and install junk onto your system, and eventually force you to purchase it's full version of the program, if you chose to. I finally uninstalled the entire software package and installed the VLC Media Player. Which is functional in all aspects. It works great now. I hope these comments help.

Worked perfectly out of the box. I was able to create a data dvd on the first try.One thing to watch for is that the included install software will want to change all your file types to use Nero. I would suggest that you review carefully before you accept the changes.

I bought this USB DVD-W Drive to go with my new Acer Aspire netbook.It works great with computer. It is a bit flimsy with the way it opens but nothing I can't handle. For such a small price it does work great. No regrets and I have used it to load a ton of software and files onto the Acer. So far so good!!!
