This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides quad-band connectivity (850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz). Powered by GPRS/EDGE Class 10 (Enhanced Data for Global Evolution) technology, this phone makes information exchange a breeze by offering immediate mobile connectivity. It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider.

This compact handset offers a large 262K color TFT screen with 240 x 320-pixel resolution. The extra large screen offers enough space to view 12 lines of text together and is fully capable of displaying text/photo/video caller ID. With 60 MB of internal memory, the D900i is designed to hold up to 1000 contacts. A call list remembers your 30 most recent missed, received and dialed calls, and in addition to a vibrating alert, the D900i supports polyphonic and MP3 ringtones. With the D900i, Samsung introduces a new and expanded interface system, ranging from uGo to uTrack and uMenu.

• Jointly developed by Samsung and Adobe, uGo is an adaptive user interface that automatically responds to the user's environments. The main screen will display a landmark picture of the city you are located in, even adjusting the picture to the time of day or night, with added fun graphics and animation alerting you of missed phone calls and other information.
• The uTrack function significantly increases your chances of recovering a lost or stolen phone by sending an SMS message to a pre-designated number to alert you of when your mobile's SIM card is changed as well as its location. This helpful feature enables you to keep track of your mobile, even when it is no longer in your possession.
• You can create a personalized menu of shortcuts to frequently-used features using the uMenu function. Directly access your favorite functions without having to navigate through numerous menu screens. Time saving and convenient, My Menu puts you in control of your phone.
• Even if you have 1000 entries in the phonebook, the USearch function allows you to auto-recall a phone number in seconds. Just type the name by digits on the idle screen (instead of by alphabets) and it creates a list of contact numbers for instant selection of the right number.

The 3.0-megapixel camera is equipped with a flash and 4x digital zoom so that you can get up close and personal. In addition, you can personalize your photos with the variety of picture-taking modes, photo effects and other options offered. It provides support for PictBridge technology so you can print your photos without the need of a PC (either using USB or Bluetooth). The camera also has video recording capabilities. Recording in 352 x 288-pixel resolution with voice, and at 30 frame rates per second, this camera is compatible with H.263 and MPEG4 video formats. With TV output support, the D900i can display image and video files on a television or onto a screen via a beam projector.

This phone provides Bluetooth version 2.0 wireless connectivity with EDR (enhanced data rate), and includes profiles for communication headset, handsfree car kits, and audio/video remote control. With the A2DP Bluetooth profile, you can stream your music to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones. You can connect your laptop (either via Bluetooth or wired USB) and enjoy dial-up networking--surf the Internet, send email, and access files from a server. The phone also supports a USB mass storage mode, allowing you to store and transport important files like documents, images, and music files.

While the built-in music player keeps your favorite tracks at your fingertips, the Digital Power Amp delivers superior sound and enhanced amplification. Yeah for the price I paid ($230 at the time) its an amazing phone. There are probably better phones out there now, I mean this phone came out in 2006, but its still a great phone. The features on it are great, Music(MP3), Video, pretty awesome Photos(3mp), and the call quality is great. I don't know what the other guy is talking about how the screen is getting scratched. I've had my phone for almost a year now and have not only dropped it multiple times but once even in a parking lot where it slid on the concrete about 2 or 3 feet (FACE DOWN) and I still to this day have no scratches on my screen. And I don't use a screen protector or anything. Its a great, affordable, sleek, thin, phone that is awesome. Plain and simple. It may not be able to compete with the iPhone... but for the price, it does what it CAN do very well.

I bought this phone from "Worldwide Distributors" for $200 after tax and shipping because I was planning some international travel. The first problem I noticed was that the battery fully discharged in a few hours, even if the phone was switched off. Then I tried it on 4 different networks in various countries: Vodafone (Egypt), AT&T (California USA), TRUE (Thailand), TH GSM (Thailand). In all cases, it connected to the network for about 1 or 2 minutes (no SIM lock). Then it would drop out and display "Limited Service". If I manually try to connect to an available network, it says "not allowed". So, this "unlocked" seemed to be rejected from ALL networks. I contacted the seller "Worldwide Distributers" and they just shoved me off and said they can't help me because I bought a phone listed with no warranty. Real clever. Selling non-functional phones without warranty is not my idea of a good business plan. My attempts to get tech support directly from Samsung were hopeless because Samsung USA referred me to Samsung UK, who referred me to Samsung Phillipines, who never responded. I gave the phone to someone in Thailand because I didn't want to carry it home and have it haunt me any further. BE CAREFUL IF YOU BUY A PHONE WITH NO WARRANTY! The only thing that worked out right with this transaction was the inital shipping. It arrived quickly.

I had the black SGH-D900i which unfortunately got wet and died. Then i bought the silver one. Now the problem is that the silver coating comes off quickly and the phone starts to look ugly very soon!
