Built-In Network Connectivity

Built-in network capabilities allow you to easily connect your printer to your network via Ethernet cable. Utilizing this arrangement can reduce the amount of money you spend on additional printers and increase productivity by having several devices printing to the same location.

ReCP Technology Delivers Professional, High-Quality Prints

With the Samsung Xpress M2875FD, you can easily produce high-quality prints right from your home office or small business. Thanks to high-resolution print quality up to 4,800 x 600 dpi effective, your prints will have sharper images and clearer text. Featuring Samsung's ReCP (Rendering Engine for Clean Pages) image processing technology and polymerized toner, the Samsung Xpress M2875FD maintains a sleek design, while delivering prints with finer detail and a more polished, well-defined edge.

ReCP also automatically enhances halftone patterns during scanning and copying, delivering smoother images which are true to their original.

Fast Performance to Make You More Productive

The Samsung Xpress M2875FD delivers printing speeds of 29 pages per minute, making even the most complex jobs feel fast. A powerful 600 MHz processor, 128 MB of memory, and a Cortex-A5 core help you to work faster and spend less time waiting for your documents.

Print Directly from Your Smartphone or Tablet over a Wi-Fi Network

Samsung's Mobile Print App allows you to print, scan, and fax directly from your mobile device without the need for a computer. The free download for iPhone, iPad, Android, and Windows Phone devices lets you work smarter and faster without wasting time switching devices and transferring files.

The M2875FD is also Google Cloud Print capable, allowing you to print from anywhere in the world via your Google account.

Enhance Fine Lines and Small Text

When scanning or copying, you can ensure that thin lines and small text are captured with the Samsung Xpress M2875FD. De-Integrated Cavity Effect (De-ICE) technology maximizes the amount of text that is captured, delivering higher-quality prints and scans.

Works with Multiple Paper Types and Weights

The Samsung Xpress M2875FD lets you print on a variety of paper types and weights. You can print on a range of media up to 58 pounds, including paper, labels, cards, envelopes, and overhead projector transparencies.

Ideal for Economical Printing

A one-touch Eco button automatically enables several options, including printing in grayscale and skipping blank pages. You can edit the default settings and even choose if it affects just the next job or all future jobs. Samsung's Easy Eco Driver allows you to further cut down on energy usage and saves toner and paper by letting you edit your jobs before printing, such as removing images or bold text.

Eco simulator shows you the estimated reduction percentage of carbon dioxide, electricity, and paper, so you can see the difference for yourself.

Save on Costs with Separated Toner System

Samsung's Separated Toner System helps reduce the overall cost of running your printer--including the cost per page--by keeping the toner cartridge and imaging units separate. This means you only need to purchase the imaging unit when it's empty, saving you on costs and helping you keep a balanced budget.

Easily Monitor and Manage Your Printer

Samsung's Easy Printer Manager makes it convenient to look after your printer's settings and applications within a single interface. It gives you easy access to error reports as well as the status of your printer and its supplies, and allows you to manage settings remotely.

Duplex Printing Helps Reduce Waste

Duplex printing lets you print on both sides of the page, cutting paper usage in half. Switch into Eco Mode to make sure all documents use duplex printing, reducing your impact on the environment and saving you money.

Let me state up front that this is a wonderful printer, built very well and with great printing quality. And this what makes it all the more tragic for me to be forced to return it because Samsung failed to create printer drivers which are fully compatible with Windows 8.

I have a home network with three computers on it, two of which are running Windows 7 64x and one laptop that runs Windows 8, 64x. Installation on the two Win7 machines went perfectly and the Samsung printer software for scanning, printing and faxing is awesome, perhaps some of the best I've seen. Unfortunately, when it came time to install this on my Windows 8 machine, there was nothing I nor 3 Samsung techs (two of which were tier 2 support) could do to get this to install properly at all. I spent about 3hrs with the techs in addition to about 2hrs on my own trying to get it to work but in the end and my assessment was that the Samsung printer drivers were just not compatible as claimed by Samsung. My suspicions were confirmed by the last tier 2 tech who said that yes, it was the Samsung printer driver and the specific issue was the driver could not communicate with the Windows 8 ControlSet.

What makes this situation worse is that Samsung has known about this issue since at least August when another reviewer wrote this review reporting exactly the same problem: http://amzn.to/1d3k5hg Why hasn't Samsung issued a driver update in the last two months? They haven't even acknowledged that there is a problem. What are they waiting for?

Worse still is that I had hell in dealing with the Samsung phone system customer service reps: between bad transfers, 10 minute waits on hold and reps who lacked the necessary knowledge to help me, I made about 8 calls to Samsung alone yesterday.

Yeah, it plugs into your switch/router so it's not wireless, BUT IT ALLOWS YOU TO PRINT WIRELESSLY. You can set it up for Google cloud print and other methods to print from your ipad, iphone/android phone or wireless laptop. I have mine setup for printing from android, ipad, laptop and desktop. Setup took a little effort, but well worth it. Even if you don't use it for printing from wireless devices I love the split design of the toner unit for potential cost savings. The benefits of laser over my old multi function color ink jet most amount to faster printing and longer lasting 'ink', I don't even miss being able to print in color (if I want to print photos I have it done via Walgreens or something similar). My favorite feature though is being able to easily print on both sides of a sheet of paper. The ability to scan directly to a PC is also a bonus.

I'm quite happy with the printer hardware. But I had a devil of a time getting it working. The drivers and Samsung support need a lot of improvement!

The instructions that came with it told me to download drivers from Samsung's web site. OK. The PDF manual also gave instructions on how to install the drivers. Unfortunately they didn't match the install process AT ALL. For example step 5 says "Double click cdroot > autorun". There is no such thing to click. It also says "on-screen help that is available through your system menu or from the driver package Windows applications, such as Unified Driver Configurator or Image Manager." No, it isn't. Those things didn't get installed on my computer.

Fine. Go ahead and run the install anyway. No one reads the instructions, so why should they be correct?

The installer (after forcing me to accept an EULA that included a "CONSENT TO USE OF DATA" section) finished with these helpful messages:

**** Registering cups backend ...
**** Are you going to use network devices? If yes, it is recommended to configure your firewall.
**** If you want to configure firewall, enter 'y'. To skip, enter 'n' or just press enter:
**** CUPS restart OK
**** Registering SANE backend ...
**** Restarting udev ...
**** Install finished

What do you mean am I going to use network devices? Like, does my network have a router? Well, yes, it does. Why should a printer driver care though? And why does it want to configure my firewall? So it can send my data back to Samsung? (See "CONSENT TO USE OF DATA".) I don't have a firewall between my computer and the printer. So I skipped that question. But you can see it might be rather intimidating to someone who isn't sure what's happening here.

It's true that this is NOT the wireless version, despite what the title says. There is a wireless version, but this is not it.

You can get around the lack of wireless support for the printer by connecting the printer to a wireless hub, such as an Apple Airport Express. That actually works beautifully, and it's what I did once I realized I'd gotten the non-wireless version. However neither this version nor the true wireless version supports wireless scanning on a Macintosh. I discovered this after literally hours on the phone with both Samsung and Apple. Samsung is unaware of this, and in fact its support techs seem to have no idea how Macintoshes work or what their own software looks like. The Apple techs, however, maintain a list of printers and scanners for which there is wireless support, and true to that list, this printer is supported and the scanner is not ([...] Samsung apparently could fix this. But I am not holding my breath.

To scan, I have to connect the scanner to my computer via USB, which is a serious pain, and dropped the rating from 5 starts to 3 stars.

The printing is fast and the quality is high. The workmanship is very good. The looks are decent. The paper feeder is good, and paper very rarely jams in the printer.

Tech support is downright pathetic. No one seems to have any idea how their software works, or why I need to download so many apparently useless utilities. The driver system is mysterious, and no one at Samsung has been able to explain even the simplest aspects of it. Why do I need the Scanner Picker, the Scan Assistant, and the Easy Printer Manager to scan if the software that I'm told to use to actually scan is Apple's ImageCapture? (Incidentally ImageCapture doesn't work, but Easy Printer Manager does.
