I bought this camera yesterday. When I buy something I like to know all the features available. This camera explains all the features when you turn the wheel on the camera. It tells you what features are best for what you a taking a picture of.
My husband was throwing my son in the air and this camera caught a perfect picture of them. It was not blurred at all.
I am very excited to try the other features on the camera. It is a huge step up for me from my Kodak 4.0 megapixal camera.

First, we have a fellow Amazon customer who bought two SL202s, and both stopped functioning within a month; the issue? Frozen lens. Check out the comments to the review as well.

When I attempt to turn on the camera the lens is not extending fully and then the camera is shutting done.
I can only review pic on memory card

The lens is still open, Whole camera is off, How can I take a picture now? Iv'e turned if on and of several
of times.

My samsung camera will not turn on. The lens is extended. When I push the power button the blue light comes
on, camera beeps, then light goes of. If i push the picture button a picture will come on for 3 seconds
then beeps and goes off.

When I press the power button it lights up, makes a loud beep and turns off again. Nothing comes on the screen.
When I press the display button, a stored image shows for a moment and then it makes the loud beep and turns
off. The lens will not retract.

the lens is stuck. it will not go in. also nothing is showing up on the display screen.

Oh, and there's a guy on Ebay trying to pawn off his SL202 with stuck lens for it's repair parts value, which he apparently thinks is 40$.

Frozen lens happened to them, it happened to me, and it could happen to you. I guess the take-away point here is not to buy an SL202; I won't be buying any kind of Samsung camera ever again...stuck lens seems like somewhat of a common problem with digital cams, but it seems like a much bigger issue with the SL202; it wasn't released too long ago, and there are so many people with the same problem over the past couple of months.

I've used the Samsung SL202 for about 2 weeks and I am quite happy with it. The picture quality is very good, the viewing screen is excellent, and the camera was a good value for what it has to offer.

I was thinking of buying this camera then I read all of the reviews about the lens freezing up. I went to a Walmart by my house to actually test some cameras out and they had two different colors of this model on display. Both of their displays had the lens stuck halfway out and would only turn on for a second before shutting back down. This is apparently quite a widespread problem.

I have SAMSUNG TV but i have been never used samsung's camera so hesitated to buy this.
I checked out cameras at best but and compared them.
Finally i choose this!
It is cheap, small and light.Easy to use. I bought pink one, it's sooooooooooo cute!
I love the beauty shot tool.
If you use this, you don't need to use photoshop!
If you want cheap,cute and good camera, i want to recommend this one strongly!

This is my first digital camera and I love it. I went to the store with my heart set on a Photosmart A100-IS from Canon but was disappointed with the bland colors and menu. I saw the Samsung SL202 and loved it. It is sleek and modern and just what I need from easy, quick shots or great firework videos. I am very glad I chose this camera.

I was pleasantly surprised how great this camera was. I never thought I would really like it. I've had several Sony cameras and just couldn't afford the Sony I wanted. This camera is better than the Sonys that I have owned. I LOVE this camera, how it takes pictures. It can be a little slow but I've experienced that with all digital cameras. If you are in the market and considering this one... you won't be sorry.

I bought this camera as a birthday present for my 13 year old grandson. He loves it. It was easy to learn use and takes great pictures. It even does well in low light situations. Its compact size makes it possible for him to carry it everywhere, and he does. One drawback is that it did not come with memory. You have to remember to buy a memory card. 4GB is good. I paired this camera with a Square trade warranty, but it is very sturdy. We have not had to try it out. This was a good buy.

I bought this Samsung SL202 for my girlfriend as a Christmas Gift. I looked hard and long to find a camera with great features, 10+ megapixel, and a nice shade shade of pink for the camera color. In all, this camera is easy to use and for the price, it can't be beat.

Absolute worthless camera for taking any kind of pictures where time is of the essence. Be prepared for focus adjustments that can last several seconds. My 3 year old poses and moves very quickly and the Samsung SL202 will not respond quickly enough to get the shot. Ridiculously slow reaction time. Buyer beware!
