I bought this microwave because of the name, and I have had it for over a year. I thought Samsungs were supposed to be good. After the first month I started hearing a loud noise when the microwave got hot. It got worse over the months. Before the one year warranty was up I had it fixed free of charge. They had to replace the motor. Well after a few more months, guess what? It is making the same noise, although it is not as loud, and I hope it will last me for a while. The other thing about these Samsungs, the buttons are very hard to push. Next time I will buy a Whirlpool or Kenmore.
Update:
Well, after exactly 22 months the microwave stopped working completely. The only thing it is good for is an over the range light. Junk.

Aside what Consumer Reports writes about Samsung Microwave Ovens, I would not buy a Samsung appliance again.

I called their technical support number and was told that my 2 year old Samsung microwave had a bad control panel, and would need a service call. The microwave has been very lightly used, mostly for reheating and popcorn.

I bought this microwave on 6/10/2010 and it just died 3/7/2013. I would think paying $260 for a microwave for it to last longer than this. It no longer heats, just spins and the fan still works. My Samsung washer and dryer also both broke right after the warranty ended. I think I am completely done with Samsung appliances, they still make good hard drives though.

The actual microwave functioning is great, but the design to use the unit is very poor. Agree that the keypad is difficult to read/interpret. In addition the "buttons" are difficult to push compared to my old GE.

Lighting for cook top is woefully inadequate and, laughably, has a night light setting; the "high" setting can serve as the night light. Lastly, the cook top light bulb gets too hot and cracks the glass cover!

First impressions are critical, right? In this case, it begins with the installation. Samsung provides two separate paper templates: one for the back wall mounting bracket, and one for the upper-cabinet bolt holes. The back-wall template is just fine -- it's full-scale, and won't let you make a mistake (as long as you mount the paper right!). The upper-cabinet template, however, can quickly lead you into a disaster; inexplicably, it is NOT full-scale, and if you follow this particular guide (rather than lay things out with a measuring tape from the dimensions), YOUR INSTALL WILL FAIL.

If you get past the installation problem, your next thing is likely to look for some help in how to USE your new appliance. A nice User Manual would be handy, right? Forget about it; Samsung doesn't supply one. They went chintzy, and decided to "go green" (quoting one of their customer service reps there) and not include this essential documentation! They actually refer you to their parts supplier, who would be happy to charge you $14 (plus shipping) to send you a paper copy. Or, you can go to the Samsung web site, stumble through their pages to find the microwave you've just spent $300 or so on, and download and print a PDF, using your own PC. Nice. I especially love how on the front page of the User Manual it says "Planet First; (printed on) 100% recycled paper". They obviously intended to provide a User Manual with this appliance, before some Marketing wiz got a bright idea.

Next, trying to figure out their keypad. The labeling is lousy. Why not show us a graphic of a fan and a light? My wife and I have probably turned the darn fan on fifty times, when we really wanted to just turn on the darn light!

My new microwave came and it was very easy to install. When I opened it I noticed it had a cracked casserole plate. I called the number I was given and they were very polite and told me a new plate would be sent to me right away and it was. There are many features on this microwave and so far I've enjoyed half of them I look forward in using the other half in the near future. Well I thought I would update my microwave since it has been 3 months. I still very pleased with it so far, if there is one thing I don't like, it would be the door my old one you pushed a button and it open quite smoothly. This one you have to put a little force to it to get it open and closed. I do like the warning buzzer to remind you your food or drink is ready come and get it. It does this 3 or 4 times. ater
