The Samsung SSC-12 12-inch B/W Observation System with 3 Weather-resistant Cameras provides convenience, versatility, and quality in a robust and complete system. This system allows you to view up to four camera locations in real-time, sequentially in full-screen. The included three cameras have alarm inputs and built-in microphones and speakers for two-way audio. These cameras also come in weather-resistant housings for outdoor applications, helping make the Samsung SSC-12P a complete, self-contained observation solution perfect for your home or business security applications.

The SSC-12P's 12-inch black-and-white monitor is operated via its front main panel, and includes a built-in switcher that allows you to automatically rotate between camera views and four RJ11E camera inputs complete with two-way audio support. Multi-voltage compatible, the SSC-12P's monitor runs on 90 to 260-volts of AC power, and achieves a horizontal resolution of 800 TVL (TV lines) in NTSC.

The weather-resistant cameras that come with the Samsung SSC-12P utilize a 0.25-inch super HAD interline-transfer CCD (charge-coupled device) image sensor with an eight-millimeter fixed lens. These units achieve a resolution of 330 horizontal TVL (TV lines) with 270,000 effective pixels, and can receive a picture at a minimum illumination of two Lux. The SSC-12P's cameras run on 12-volts of DC power via their included 60-foot monitor cables, and have operating temperature-ranges of -10 to 50 degrees Celsius.

The Samsung SSC-12P offers you everything you need in a basic security surveillance system for covering a small area. Though three cameras are included, this system allows you to add any combination of up to four different compatible cameras, so you can expand your system more as your needs change. Users should note that the CCD image sensors in the cameras may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the cameras should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.

Samsung makes a great product in this 12" system,although the system does not display all four pictures at once, it can be set to different dwell times per camera.IT will manually go from camera to camera stopping to get acloser look when needed. The audio is an excellent asset.Many times it is the sound not the pict5ure that raws my attention to something amiss.This system has already kept me from being ripped off. I over heard a "door to door" salesman tell his buddy that if no one answered that they should steal my "expensive porch furniture" for their use, they were extremely surprised when they herd a voice coming from the camera behind them,telling them, that stealing from me would be a big mistake.They apologized profusely and begged me "not to call the cops" I told them all their conversation was recorded as was the video. They left with heads hung low worried to death. I never had to even open the door. the camera was placed in an out of the way spot covering the door and porch. they never new i wasn't recording them. EVEN THOUGH THIS SYSTEM CAN BE SET UP TO RECORD ON VCR! this is a well made system works well even in streetlight. enough to see your cars safely without going out side. best buy for the money.

I have owned this product for over 2 years, I operate 2 monitors and 6 camaras. They have run continuously for 2 years with absolutely no problems. Easy to install, easy to operate, this product is well worth the money I spent.

I purchased this item. It worked well for about 3-4 months. Then 2 dark vertical bands appeared on the monitor. It was definitely a problem with the monitor. I payed another $100 to have it fixed, then it happed again. PIECE OF JUNK!!!
