Ok for everybody wondering if these glasses are any good...well...yes, they do what they are supposed to. There is some pro's and cons.

Pro's: cheap price ($20), decent 3D picture, easy pairing, better than passive 3d glasses in my opinion. lightweight, comfortable.

Cons: they dont provide a barrier on the side of the glasses, and are very fragile.

I only use these glasses for when my wife and I have company over, and our guests dont have a problem with them, they're too busy enjoying the 3d content. I wouldnt want to use these myself, as i have the 3100gb. For the money though, these are not bad.

I believe the SSG-3050 glasses are the replacement for the SSG-3100 model. I have both sets and both my wife and kids prefer the SSG-3100 models over this. I highly recommend anyone with Samsung 2011 3D TV's stock up on them before they are all gone, i did.

In regards to the on-off button, it is difficult to know whether the unit is on or off. It would be better if the on/off button light stayed on green when on and blinked red when off.

In the end, these Active glasses produce stunning 3D images from the TV and are a big hit with my family.

These glasses work great. They are the same exact model they sell in the store at bestbuy for $29.99.. plus tax. Bought these with my Samsung plasma d550 3D tv.. they sync with the tv so when the 3D image is turned off the glasses turn off. Easy to set up to, just hold down the power button for about five seconds and the tv says "3d glasses connected".

These glasses are lightweight, work well over prescription glasses, or without, and have a superb picture with my Samsung PN59D6500 HDTV. The surface of the glasses even seem to clean easily when fingerprints get on them. They do darken the TV picture a little but not bad. I used them to watch the IMAX Under The Sea 3d movie and the 3D effects are great! Much better 3D effects than in any movie theater. I have not used them long enough to know about battery life yet. The only problem with these glasses is the poor documentation, particularly regarding the power on/off features. As other reviews commented, the glasses turn off automatically when they do not detect a 3D signal from the TV. I thought they were broken at first when the green (on) and red (off) lights did not come on when pressing the button (only the pairing light would come on). Amazon's reviewers saved me by giving me the hint about automatic power off. After further testing I discovered that the green and red light only come on when the 3D signal is detected from the TV. The 3D signal from the TV can only be turned on when the TV detects 3D media in the 3D blu-ray player. So, if the pairing light comes on but the green and red lights don't, then just turn off the pairing light (press the button once) and the glasses will be off. It was really strange because I called Samsung tech support about this and they didn't even know the answer. Thank you Amazon reviewer "tech support"!

The glasses are lightweight and stylish. They work perfectly with Samsung's 2011 models. The battery fits in the middle between the lens and disappears completely. They sync easily and turn off automatically when the 3D content is disabled. At less than a third of the price of the more expensive Samsung 3D glasses like the $120 a pair SSG-3700CR, the SSG-3050GB is a steal. The batteries are not expensive and last a long time.

I do prefer the SSG-3100GB over this. However with the price difference this makes much more sense economy wise. After getting over the initial discomfort of putting on a pair of glasses to watch TV (I don't think this is a sustainable habit for long durations). Those glasses will give you the movie theater 3D picture. The problem is they have active shutter technology which means that they darken one side at a time in a very fast method that creates the illusion of 3D. It is true that it is done in a fast way that you won't notice it while looking at TV however if you direct your eyes anywhere their is artificial light like analog VCR/DVD time displays. Your Audio control LCD display. Or the light bulb you'll notice the flicker lighting. Also after a while I do experience some eye strain but I think this applies to all 3D glasses.
Compared to the SSG-3100GB this is a much lighter model (pro) but does not shelter you from the ambient light as much (con)and the wraparound feel of the handles gets uncomfortable after a while.
I believe I clocked close to 10 hours of active use between 3D movies and 3D video games and the battery so far so good.

Bought these as a replacement pair.I may have or may not have been a idiot and broke the 2 pair that came with my tv.That being said I need new ones. These seem better than the ones I had and are cheaper.I read someone saying that they let in light from the sides. They do.BUT for the best 3d effect you are not suppose to watch with lights on.You really want the basil of the tv to blend in with the darkness as much as possible to give the illusion of the picture floating. So side light isn't an issue at all for me.I only wear reading glasses but I tried these on over those and they felt comfortable.Clearly they had that in mind when they designed these. They feel cheap and flimsy but I am guessing that is how they kept the weight down.I highly recommend these
