5.0 out of 5 stars Works great but watch out!
The item is a breeze to set up. Works as intended. I am not a hardcore audiophile but it sounds wonderful to me. There is one gotcha though. I put this in my living room with my Samsung HTX-72 system and shortly after I installed the SWA-3000 my Playstation 3 wireless online connection kept dropping. 3.0 out of 5 stars Fire Hazard!!
We purchased this system about 2 years ago. Last night we were watching a movie and as soon as the movie ended and we turned off the system I started to smell and really bad smell. We looked over and the wireless speaker box was smoking really bad. We had to unplug it and took it outside just incase it started a fire.

We called Samsung customer service and...

I put this in my living room with my Samsung HTX-72 system and shortly after I installed the SWA-3000 my Playstation 3 wireless online connection kept dropping. I have since repositioned my router in my computer room and there isn't an issue anymore. Just be wary if you have a media center or a console using a wireless network connection. There may be some interference issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this amp!, June 28, 2007
This review is from: Samsung SWA-3000 Wireless Module (Electronics)
It does exactly what it states. Wireless rear speakers for your Samsung Home Theater. I haven't noticed any loss from the rear, but I'm not an audiophile either.

Every once in a while I have to turn off the home theater remove the card and re-insert it to get the wireless to reconnect. I'm not sure it's the module though, since the Samsung HT-Q70 (my home theater) has already been in for repair once and seems to be unreliable.

An important piece of advice. If you have an option of buying an extended warranty through any vendor when purchasing a Samsung product you'd better take it. Samsung has a horrible track record for anyone who has been unlucky enough to recieve a faulty item. My Samsung HT-Q70 had a faulty board in it (something that I've read online was wide spread) and lucky for me I had a aftermarket warranty from the place I purchased it. They replaced the board and it hasn't given me any trouble since.

I haven't lost wireless signal to my amp since the repair.

Using this couldn't be easier if you are paired with a supported Samsung home theater system. I am using a Samsung home theater and the connection altogether took me about 10 minutes (mostly spent untangling cable). It is literally a plug-and-play device. If you want to avoid running cables to the back of the room for your Samsung home theater, this is definitely the way to go. It comes with the sender unit (about the size of a flash drive ... just plugs into a slot in the back of your HTIB) and the receiver. You connect your rear speakers to it, plug it in, and you are ready to go. I played some DVDs where the surround effect was quite obvious and there were no problems whatsoever with the rear speakers: No static, great clarity and volume, and perfect synchronization.

Don't purchase this unit without first checking to make sure your Samsung HTIB is compatible. If it is, you are in for a wireless treat.

4.0 out of 5 stars works well but not completely wireless, May 6, 2007

This unit works well but still requires wires between rear two speakers! I still have to stretch wires across a doorway, so the words (wireless module) are tricky. The module is wireless from base unit but not from rear speakers.

A great way to get rear sound with out wires. It works as advetised and is very simple to set up. I have not noticed any noise problems. It has made my wife happy. She hates seeing long runs of speaker wire like we had with our oold system.

This system is an excellent product. It was very easy to install and performs just as I had hoped. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to experience surround sound without cords all over the place.

5.0 out of 5 stars Samsung SWA-3000 Wireless Surround Sound Amp., March 8, 2007

Works great, sounds great!
The only catch is that it's not really "wireless". The only advantage this product provides is that you don't need wires going across the room from the reciever to the back speakers. You still need wires for all the speakers.
So, a little expensive just to prevent wires going across the room, but the sound is great, and it's fairly easy to set up.
I was completley satisfied overall w/ this product!

I've been really happy with this unit for about six months... then it suddenly stopped working. I had to reset it a couple of times and, fine, worked again but the last time I tried several things to make it work again unsuccessfuly.
There's half a page in the Home Theather manual on how to reset the unit and that's all the help you get...
I've heard about interference with other wireless devices. I had wireless phones and DSL before buying the unit and it worked fine. I don't know what has changed or if it just broke (the light still turns on).
Anyway, I run 16 speaker wire through the walls and atic to get 5.1 again. The unit is still sitting in the tv cabinet drawer but going to the garage soon. Hundred bucks trown away...
Recommendation: spend $ 100 on upgrading all your home theather speaker wires and take an evening to run them through the walls and installing speaker wall plates (Dayton). You'll be sure your HT will work every time at its best! Nothing like good old wires...

I love this product. It has Great Sound! As if the rear speakers were hooked right up to the Samsung Surround Home theater itself. I love the fact that there are no wires running along the edges of your room to the rear speakers. You simply connect your rear speakers to The wireless receiver which communicates through radio frequencies with The Samsung Home theater system you already have or are going to buy separate. It comes with SWA-3000 amplifier unit, TX card, AC power adapter, and user's manual. It is VERY EASY to install. Just insert the TX card, plug in the receiver, connect rear speakers and your ready to go.
The first Movie we Played was "Top Gun", ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS SOUND! you will enjoy!
