I took a small financial risk on this product and was pleasantly surprised. I was looking for something small, portable, simple, easy to use, AND with the On/Off "bookmark" feature. The "bookmark" feature was not listed anywhere so I didn't know if it had it. I've been told the IPOD shuffle does not start where you left off when you turn it off and then on again. The Samsung S2 Pebble does have this "bookmark" feature. So, if you decide to take a break in the middle of a podcast, you don't have to listen to the whole thing again when you turn it back on! Plus, it's light, charges easily, works as a simple USB device, easily transfers files with a PS3, and fits in my running shorts pocket with alternate headphones. Great product at a reasonable price!

I purchased this player because it support WMA files that are DRM protected. I was looking for an alternative to my iPod shuffle which only support AAC and MP3 files. This player does have the added feature of bookmarking your last track. This feature is very handy when listening to long tracks found on audiobooks. (The shuffle does not have this option) It has a decent sound quality and the buttons are much easier to manipulate when compared to the shuffle. The obvious downside is the lack of LCD window when skipping tracks. This was expected given the amazon picture. Transferring files was a breeze I was able to copy 6 audiobooks (unabridged) before it was full and with a 13 hour play time per charge I look forward to getting alot of use out of this pebble.

What I love most about this player is it hangs around my neck so I can do work around the house without the cord getting caught on anything.

It's pretty much what you'd expect. You can drag mp3 files into its music folder like it's a USB flash drive, it plays them fine, and its battery is sufficient. Headphones were surprisingly not bad, though initially seemed weird (it's meant to dangle from your neck to about mid-chest).

The LED light thing is kind've neat, but after a while it can be distracting/awkward in public.

I went looking for a cheap, 1gb-ish mp3 player didn't require I install proprietary software, didn't use disposable batteries, and could keep playing for a full day's outing, and that's just what I got. If that's what you're after and you're not particularly picky about playback options, I definitely recommend it.

Just want to recommend this wonderful player to anyone who wants a big sound in a small package.The sound quality is wonderful, and it's just what I needed.I own a Sansa e260 and this unit is right up there with the Sansa's. Can't tell you how extremely satisfied I am with this player.It's a must have for all ages.

Intrigued by the hubbub surrounding Apple's latest Shuffle, I thought I'd do what I usually do and see what lower cost alternatives were available!

Enter this nifty little Pebble pendant from Samsung. It looks cool, sounds great, is easy to use, and its price is right.

The included necklace earpods offer very good sound -- not quite up to my Bose earbuds, but those cost three times the price of this player and pods combined! And these Samsung pods don't zap my inner ears with painful static electricity charges like the Bose buds!

Some of the copy I have seen describing the Pebble make it sound as though the unit puts on a real light show. That's not true; the LED on the tip changes colors to communicate various operation modes, like the unit's EQ settings, charge status, or file transfers, and that's all.

The LED does NOT seem to pulse in time with the music or change colors depending on the style or tempo of music, or whatever.

As far as I can tell, there are only three EQ settings here -- regular, studio, and live. I prefer the regular.

Really, my only gripe involves the packaging. The clamshell outer case needs scissors to open, and then you face an arcane Korean puzzle trying to figure out how to extract the product from its permanent plastic case inside.

Then there are the directions, written in mouse print so small Desperaux himself would despair at not being able to read it...

Still the Samsung S2 offers further stylish proof that you don't need a pricey ipod to enjoy your favorite tunes when you're on the go or in the gym. Highly recommended.

Gave this player to my girlfriend for her birthday after loading some romantic tunes on it. She loved it. Its small and cute and sounds great.

I actually like this mp3 player better than Apple's Ipod. It is very siplistic in design and function. Wear around your neck (and under your shirt if you like!) and you can easily adjust sound level, or switch tracks. I give this player 5 *'s. Very affordable.
