Definitely Great For The Price,

Really this product deserves about a 4.5 cause it is definitely worth the price. The Samsung S3 is so so cool in so many ways. I basically wanted to buy an ipod because I have an Apple computer. I am young but have never had or worked an mp3 player so I had no idea about any of this stuff. It sounds crazy that I'm so late but I am just now getting tired of rotating my hundreds of Cd's in and out of my old Sony Walkman. When I looked up the prices for the ipod's I let them go pretty quick.
OK so on to the S3, this is very compact and fits well in your pocket. So if you're a girl with tight jeans, this is the MP3 for you because it is very slim. It holds about 1000 songs and one of the coolest features is that it comes with recordable FM radio. If you hear something on the radio that you want but don't want to pay for and download then just record it. Only problem with this feature is that the radio reception will not always be clear and clean. It also comes with a feature I didn't know about until I bought it, it has some cool games already inside it. The S3 also has amazing sound quality, these are great ear buds. I put my Sony headphones into it and they have nothing on those ear buds so be sure to take care of them. They have great bass and treble but they don't hurt your ears. It doesn't come with a wall charger which kind of sucks cause if you're somewhere and it dies then you are out of luck if you do not have your computer. You can charge it with the USB cord it comes with but unfortunately that can take a minute. Really that's the only problem I have with the S3. The battery power really isn't 25 hours worth but more like 8 to 9 hours maybe but definitely not 25 hours. The picture is amazing and the colors are bright and vibrant but the battery life is bad. For something that holds about 1000 songs, video, Fm radio, and games it is a pretty good price.

Great MP3 player has a ton of features. The other brands names cost way more. I'm a cyclist and it perfect on those 3 to 4 hours training rides. Hands down the best i tried and you want be dissapointed.

No points for usability.,

I'm actually kind of surprised that nobody's mentioned two of the worst things about this player. If you've ever played with the iPod's dial and are familiar with its degree of responsiveness, you'll definitely be missing out on it here. The interface is crazy laggy -- at LEAST 100ms per interaction, and closer 200-300ms on every menu change. Now two or three tenths of a second might not seem like much, but it definitely adds up, especially when you realize that the only way to scroll through your music or adjust the volume is by finger tapping through the lag. Moreover, in the current market of MP3 players there's absolutely no reason why anybody ought to put up with this. There are better options on the market in the same price range if you look around.
Secondly, the way the buttons work make it impossible to do just about anything without picking the device out of your pocket and putting all of your attention on it. Other players are not like this; they frequently make it easy to adjust the volume or change tracks by just sticking your hand in your pocket and adjusting. If you want to do that here, however, you'll testing your luck on its buttonless surface with very little by which to judge that you're jabbing the right spot. Switching tracks by accident while trying to adjust the volume, or ending up in the music-options menu and then having to pull the thing out of your pocket in order to opt out it, gets old quickly. Other people have mentioned the uselessness of the variable speed playback function (way to tempt users with something seemingly great, Sanyo!) and the clunky Samsung Media Studio. No, no, no. This isn't acceptable. Saving a few bucks isn't worth taking this large of a hit in usability.

What a buy for the money! Excellent sound, easy to download music, easy to navigate. It's compact and very attractive, too.
I'm so pleased with this purchase and have recommended same to my friends.

This is really good MP3
Too bad I lost it though... I only used that for 2 month Perfect sound quality as always from SAMSUNG... I don't understand why Ipod can't catch up samsung's sound quality Touchpad is sometimes irritating, but doable Converting videos is not difficult. If you can use computer it is easy for you, although I wouldnt recommend trasnfering video to ur mp3 becuz of the tiny screen size battery remains long

Many nice features, but not what I wanted.,
This review is from: Samsung S3 4 GB Slim Portable Media Player (Blue) (Electronics)
This MP3 player works very well. The buttons are a little too sensitive, but the menus and features are nicely arranged and easy to use.
I chose this particular model because it had variable playback speed. Time is very precious to me in this crazy world, and I need to listen to audio books while I do other things. Gone are the days when I can sit down and read something. On my computer and my new DVD player I can play DVDs and up to twice the speed and still hear the audio. Unlike with analog technology, these two digital devices playback the audio with out ANY increase in pitch of the voice. In other words the actors don't sound like Minnie Mouse when they talk, they just sound like they are fast talkers. This is great for me because I don't get a lot of DVD viewing time either. I was expecting the same with this MP3 player, but it is not the case. For some reason when you speed up the audio on the S3 MP3 player the pitch gets higher, so I now have Minnie Mouse reading my audio book instead of a quicker narrator. This would be a great MP3 player if they could only change this one feature. I don't know why they have to let the pitch increase, perhaps it was at the behest of the music industry. If anyone knows of an MP3 that increases speed without increasing pitch please let me know. |
