Know How To Use It Before You Start Judging,
By Stan "Stan" (Berkeley, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Samsung SyncMaster 910t 19" LCD Monitor (Silver) (Electronics)
This is for all those reading the bad reviews on this monitor.
I have had this monitor for two months already. I bought it based on the excellent reviews. When I started to use it, I too was surprised by the fuzziness. Not only that, but the colors were not even that great. So I question, "Why did this monitor get such great reviews when my display is not what is hyped up to be?" After going to the menu and adjusting the sharpness, my text improved but still was not as good as I wanted it to be. I tried fixing the color but changing the refreshing 75 Hertz and it did improve but also not as good as I wanted it to be. I was about to give a bad review. But then I did further analysis and realized that I have an old video card- MX440. This is a very good card. However, the manufacturer that did this card is a poor company, forgot the name. So I ordered a new Albatron 256mb nvidia FX5700. When I received the card, I plugged it in and hooked this monitor up to the DVI. Image improved again but still not what I wanted it to be. Install the latest nvidia drivers and my samsung improved by leaps and bounds. I then discovered the gamma menu to change the color. WOOHOO I got the color I wanted. I then customize my sharpness through the nvidia setting window and I can definitely say that the clarity of the text could be adjust to the point where the text was too sharp. YES. Turned down the sharpness to what I wanted and my display is PERFECT. I can no longer say that this monitor has poor quality. I just had to learn how to adjust it. Plus my old video card was not good. SO, if you have fuzzy text, increase the sharpness from the menu button. USE IT. It can make a difference. It also made a difference by changing to the color I want. Fiddle with it. Next, make sure you have a good video card. If you have crap, then you will get crap. Of course, DVI is a must for LCD. If you don't use DVI, then expect text to be fuzzier. In short, I have lived through the fuzzy text and bad colors of this monitor. BUT, I did some analysis and search for solutions to the problems and this monitor far exceeds my expectations. It is a great monitor but learn how to use it!

Fuzzy Text? CHECK NATIVE RESOLUTION!,
By Pigumon (Bay Area, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Samsung SyncMaster 910t 19" LCD Monitor (Silver) (Electronics)
This applies to all LCD monitors regardless of analog or digital inputs.
I've talked to to many people who have complained about the fuzziness of their monitors, and it was all because they did not have it set to the native resolution. All LCD monitors have a Native Resolution. This means every pixel generated by the computer is represented by a pixel on the monitor. If you don't have it set to the native resolution, the text will ALWAYS be fuzzy. This monitor supports a native resolution of 1280 x 1024. Make sure you have your video card, display/monitor control panel set to this before making any adjustments. If the option is not available, you may need to upgrade your video card, drivers.... or computer! As for this particular monitor and brand, samsung is leading the way in LCD technology, their LCD TVs will soon be the standard, especially if Sony continues to use older style LCD technology.

Very Nice, Good Price,
This review is from: Samsung SyncMaster 910t 19" LCD Monitor (Silver) (Electronics)
I use this with Windows XP at the native resolution and it is quite sharp and bright with good color. In my opinion Samsung's choice of 1280x1024 resolution is the best for this size monitor. XP
has difficulties rendering readable fonts at higher resolutions, and 1280x1024 allows for legibility without the problem of microscopic font sizes. The pivot feature is pretty slick, and would be useful for editing word docs in page layout format.
