I bought this monitor from TigerDirect (same way it's being sold here) about a month ago. It shipped incredibly fast (took about four days from ordering) and was incredibly easy to set up. I was up and running within ten minutes of opening the box. Both DVI and VGA cables are included.

The screen rotation works like a charm. A minor pet peeve of mine, however, is that when you do use the rotation software (either the included one or NVidia's, or another), my icons shift and I have to rearrange them. Then again, I do keep some icons on the left and right, so that's more my fault than anything. As a result, I don't rotate it often.

A big complaint by a lot of customers, I've noticed, are the touch-sensitive controls. They say the monitor is too bright to see them. Well, you can't see them while the monitor is in use, but it's a nice touch, and I don't spend every waking minute adjusting my monitor settings, so I don't mind it at all. Just keep that in mind, though. The touch controls--I've heard--don't work with prosthetic limbs, so keep that in mind as well, if you are the user of one.

This monitor is the best value you can get--$139 for a 19" widescreen by none other than Samsung. Look at the price in other stores. It averages $250. This is an excellent deal for a superb monitor. For the same price, you could go to a physical store and buy an off-brand. The choice is obvious. If you're thinking about getting it: get it now. It won't last (well, I don't actually know that). As I said in my TigerDirect review: I'm the world's biggest penny pincher, but I just couldn't resist purchasing this monitor. I put my stamp of approval on it.

So, don't think; just buy it. Now!

P.S. - The monitor light is blue, if you're trying to match your system together.

This monitor is very nice. It has a built-in swivel base and telescopic support arm. onitor also rotates 90degrees to be used in a vertical orientation (portrait). Also comes with both analog and digital cables - no need to buy any cables for this one. Picture quality is very good!

The picture quality through DVI is pretty good. I had to do a little work to get it to match the color/contrast of the display on the MacBook Pro I have it attached to. Also, the buttons on the front can be a pain to use, as they're touch-sensitive but aren't backlit, so there's nothing to even feel around for.

The sad surprise was the life of the display. After two weeks of use, the display would suddenly turn black on me with no warning. Power would remain on, and after cycling power the display would come back. This would happen every 30 seconds sometimes, and every 10 minutes others. My display is currently on its way to Samsung for service, and I'm told that it's going to take the better part of a month to ship it there/get it back. From looking at some other reviews, other people have had the same results. I've always had great luck with Samsung products, so this is an unhappy exception to that rule.

Beautiful and elegant monitor. Compact high resolution widescreen with a long throw height adjustment that is easy to adjust. The controls for the brightness, contrast, etc. are accessed by touching symbols on the front right lower corner of the frame and are very cool and easy to use and adjust. Though I wish they were backlit, or at least painted in white lettering instead of greyish/silver to make them easier to see w/o a penlight. There is a 'Magic Brite' auto-adjust button that you eventually fumble onto even if you just randomly touch anywhere in the touch button area that eleviates any frustration at not being able to easily read the manual adjustment button symbols. I bought mine from Tiger Direct and had it within four days of online purchase. For the money (under 170.00) there is no better manufacturer and no better PC monitor then this one in my book. Very satisfied with monitor and retailer and would highly recommend both to anyone.

I replaced an earlier 17" LCD monitor with the 19" Samsung LCD monitor. It is fabulous. I have two homes with 4 Samsung LCD TVs and 2 Samsung Computer Monitors. I did a lot of research and in store comparisons to find the best LCD products. Samsung won out in each category.

I love this monitor. It's the perfect size for my workspace (19"), contrast and color are bright and clear, and it's easy to use (after some set-up issues, below).

Other reviews I read before purchasing this complained about the buttons on the frame and about the built-in MagicRotation software not working. It took a while for me to master the latter. First, let me say that the only drawback I found was that the documentation for this monitor -- both supplied and available online at Samsung's website -- is awful. Took a lot of monkeying around to get the resolution right, so that circles showed up as circles, not ellipses, etc. To get the MagicRotation (and MagicTune) software to work, I had to (i) update my video card drivers, and then (ii) download the latest versions of the Samsung monitor software from their website -- NOT installing the versions supplied on the CD that came with the monitor.

Now it works like a charm.

As for the buttons on the frame, yes they are impossible to make out, but once you get the control software installed, the only button you need to use is the on/off, which is very easy to locate (right next to the power-on LED indicator light). All the other functions performed by the control buttons can be done onscreen, using MagicTune, etc.

Considering I got this for about $140, and that it suits my needs perfectly, I am one happy camper.

This lcd monitor is beautiful. It works perfectly right out of the box. Image resolution is sharp, colors are vivid, design is simple. I am not a techy but I know what looks good and this wide screen is it.

I really have a great respect for Samsung Monitors. I watch a lot of movies, do photoshop, illustrator and CAD work on this monitor. I have had this monitor for over eight months and I really love it. I am running it on a DVI-I cable which offers HDMI capability. The monitor came with a VGA and DVI-D cable, I had to purchase the DVI-I cable. I am now running this monitor on Windows 7. For gaming it is a perfect monitor and for all the uses I have for it it does the job.

What I like best about the monitor, versus other Samsung Monitor's is the base. I had a dead weight on the base so it is secure on my computer desk. Most other Samsung monitors have an all plastic base and the monitors can be wobbly. The con is that it is not a 1080p monitor. It is unfortunate that when I get a Samsung 24 inch widescreen 1080p monitor it will not have the base this one does.

I got a good deal on this monitor and I got it for $150.00. Yet today you can get 24" and 27" 1080p monitors for less than $280.00. I just wanted to say that I am in the computer business and it is a shame that viewtronics cannot compete in quality with Samsung, for the price.

I've had this monitor for awhile now and it is good. Picture is nice.

Purchased this for the church ofice. I dont work there but I have had no complaints. the screens seem big and nice resolution
