The C997DF from Samsung is a 19-inch (18-inch viewable image size) CRT monitor with a DynaFlat screen, which results in virtually no curvature. With its 1,920 x 1,440 maximum resolution at 64 Hz (1,600 x 1,200 at 76 Hz recommended) and fine 0.20 mm horizontal dot pitch, the C997DF delivers high-quality display images that are accurate and easy to see. Its anti-glare screen treatment helps to reduce reflections and the resulting eyestrain.
The C997DF supports RGB analog input signals through its 15-pin mini D-sub connection. Its power supply consumes about 100 watts during normal operation. It operates with 30 to 96 kHz horizontal and 50 to 160 Hz vertical scanning frequencies and a 250 MHz maximum bandwidth. Weighing 40 pounds, the C997DF has a 17.5-by-16.4-inch footprint, which fits easily onto most desktops. Good value, but not for the perfectionist,

I bought this monitor to replace my old viewsonic that died on me. I mostly use my computer for browsing and gaming. After about a month of use I must say I'm dissappointed. First off, the screen isn't actually flast. If you follow the out edge, there is a slight curve. The glass covering the screen is flat, but the actualy screen is not. The monitor is nice and bright and colors looks good, but the screen flickers at any refresh rate over 60hz at high resolution which is a huge let down. At 60hz it feels like my eyes are bleeding when I looks at a white screen. The resolution range is fine though. Another complaint I have is the shadow I can see behind the screen. A sort of wavy pattern that gets annoying and visible when the screen is dark. I would recommend this monitor for anyone who doesn't need super high resolutions or isn't nit picky about monitors.

This monitor is not flat, it has an internal curvature with a glass screen that makes it appear flat. Some people complain about this, but it really does look flat. This is the only monitor that I have ever seen that makes me happy to look at, every time. When people see it they say "wow, nice monitor." No other monitor that I have seen comes close to the initial appearance of this monitor.
The refresh rates, however, have something to be desired. This is unacceptable to me.

There is not a slight curve as the other reviewer noticed. The reason why he thought there was a curve is probably in his video card and his display properties within Windows or the display properties that the monitor itself has. But there isn't a curve in the internal screen. I've had this monitor for six months now and it works great. I am looking to buy another one like this so that I can have dual monitors. I would recommend.
