The picture is excellent. I have the TV connected to a cable box with HDTV. Note I have not connected the set to my computer. I am using it only as a TV. Good instructions are included on an instruction disk (and there are brief set-up instructions in the box on a hard copy). The stand is higher than usual for this type of small TV and good for me since I view it from several positions and most TVs of this kind sit too low on my cart. Negative factors: Certain movements on the screen are blurred once in a long while. I noticed this so far only on hockey games and once in a rolling ticker tape. But otherwise not noticeable. The screen is noticeably less bright when I am standing close and looking down or sitting far right and far left. Finally the sound was unsatisfactory, especially on voices. I hooked up a pair of inexpensive powered speakers (with headphone connection in front also making headphone connection easier) and now I am satisfied with the sound. With my rolling cart I can readjust the position of the TV for wherever I am in the room (my bedroom/office). Unless something else negative with the set becomes noticeable, I am keeping the unit. It will do for a second TV set.

Note: I set the picture following instructions in Consumer Reports on-line instructions for the newest 2013 Samsung 32" 5000 Series that they recently rated. Only I set the sharpness control for just 1 point up rather than defeating it.

I have just changed the number of stars from 3 to 4 since a 3 and a half can't be entered and it's closer to a 4 than a 3 because the average person won't be watching hockey all the time or walking around the room and I do like the picture otherwise.

I looked around at a bunch of different TVs. My requirements were something with high res (1080p), and something that had 3 inputs to hook up my satellite, Mac, VCR, Chromecast. Samsung was the closest with these requirements.

We can over analyze and nitpick a sub-$200 purchase till the cows come home. I was initially turned off by some critical reviews here so decided to get it from Costco locally just in case TV did not function properly. After hooking up, I am truly amazed and satisfied with it. I honestly cannot find any major flaws .... the sound is really quite good for its size, speakers.

I mean the unit has tons and tons of adjustments which actually can be good to try out, but not required. Over the air tuner is quite sensitive (if you hook up a reasonable antenna, I got a cheap RadioShack Antenna: [RCA ANT121]).

I also hooked up my MAC mini on HDMI1(DVI) - I am quite impressed with this as a PC display (I tried HDMI2 and it was not very clear, switching to HDMI1 helped tremendously). Overall quite satisfied, you can't go wrong with this TV. In essence, you get a LOT for the price.

Likable features:

(1) Plenty of input options (DVI/HDMI)
(2) VGA for PC
(3) Audio In
(4) Headphone jack out
(5) Component/Video IN
(6) Built in OTA Tuner
(7) Quite lightweight and easy to carry/configure
(8) Sound quality is actually quite good (you need to adjust audio equalizer frequencies).
(9) Remote is good
(10) Easy to use Dish network remote (Hopper/Joey)
(11) Tons of sophisticated options/settings (if you choose to adjust them!)

Good luck!!

We have had the older model of this series of Samsung monitor. The newer one works as fine as the older one, though it is 16:9. I think it is a good product given we bought it at $169.00.

I bought it from Costco last month and it is working great. I use Google Chromecast to watch netflix movies and youtube videos and my PC is connected to it. Its very light weight. Sound quality is good. It has many input ports. I can connect my old laptop to it via VGA cable along with Chromecast and my PC. Still there is room for raspberry pi via RCA video. There is a USB port too to play from USB devices.

I was a bit skeptical when I was browsing this monitor, due to its reviews, or lack there of. I purchased this monitor/tv regardless and am glad to say I am very pleased with my purchase. The 2ms refresh rate is as quick as i'd like it to be, the display is very crisp and clean, and as far as the aesthetics go, Samsung holds the crown!

Note: this is a tv/monitor and even comes with a remote, it can also be mounted on the wall (as I did with a 180 degree swivel mount) but I am exclusively using it for my PC and couldn't be more happy.

I got this to use in my kitchen. Its connected to a PC that lives in the cabinet below and also to a DirecTV HD satellite box. I have it mounted to the wall between the cabinets and it screwed right on to the articulated swing arm I already had mounted on the wall. No problem, whatsoever. So, all the reviews that said this was not able to be wall mounted are just wrong. I did have to make a couple minor adjustments to the picture, but it was very close to perfect right out of the box. I couldn't be happier. For the price, you cannot beat it.

This TV/Monitor does what's intended. I have my Wii U and Mac Mini hooked up and it works great! This size is perfect for a personalized experience. There are also a lot of options in the menu settings to customize the TV as you see fit. The picture quality is excellent and on par with what I expected.

The only cons I have is sound quality. It could be better but not a deal breaker at all. An easy fit for this is to hook up some speakers to the TV. I also wish there was more than two HDMI ports but I'm not going to lose sleep over that.

Overall I am happy with this purchase and the price. I may purchase another one in the near future.

This review is based on using this TV in an RV and running on AC or 12 VDC if boondocking (make your own DC cable).
Purchased this TV for my camper since it has a 14 volt DC input (few good TVs will run directly off 12 VDC). If mounting in an RV you will need to mount it with a VESA mount as the stand is Okay for using on a desk or shelf but is to flimsy for bolting down and holding the TV in a motor home.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Once the base is pushed in it can't be removed!

The other problem is this unit will not mount flat on a wall as the top of the stand where the base clips in protrudes a couple of inches out the back and even if you don't use the base it can't be removed. You will need a VESA mount with an arm and not a flat wall VESA mount.

Other than that this has a great picture, RV antenna input, and will work in a camper running off AC or the 12 VDC house battery system (again if you make your own DC cable) and RV antenna system.

Could not get a crisp picture and although the manufacturers write up said it had a quick response time, there was too much blurring and ghosting. Even when people just moved their heads! Because I can't watch a tv with these problems and I should have not given it any stars but maybe the problem of blurring wouldn't affect it if it was used as a monitor, so I gave it 2 stars.

Samsung TVs are cumbersome to use, and this is no exception. The 'joystick' at the bottom is one of the worse designs I've seen, only surpassed by the mounting stand... I got a mounting arm for this one so it's OK. Warning: computers have to be connected to a specific input, otherwise picture quality is dismal -- but when connected to the right HDMI port the quality is great, so I think it's worth 4 stars.
