Beautifully designed; poorly engineered!,

This review is from: Samsung TR46X3 46" to 56" TV Stand (Electronics)
I have used this stand for 5 months now. It matches the Samsung 67 series DLP TVS perfectly, but my TV is beginning to sag in the center, after only a few months of use, due to the lack of center support.Samsung is working with the manufacturer to develop a solution. The temporary fix I received from the manufacturer is inadequate, a couple of blocks to insert in the corners between the floating stand and the TV. There is stll no center support, and the TV will still bow. The manufacture could not tell me how long it will be until a newly designed top with support will arrive. I will have to keep checking back. Avoid this product until the problem is solved!

This stand leaves the front center of the television unsupported. This has caused my Samsung HLR5667 to bow at the speaker bar after only a few months. If it continues to sag it could possibly cause damage to the internal components. You will have to put a wood or metal piece between the TV and the stand to support it which kills the looks of the stand TV combo.

Best Stand for Samsung HLR Projection DLP TV's,

This review is from: Samsung TR46X3 46" to 56" TV Stand (Electronics)
After doing some reasonable research, I finally brought my dream projection TV. Yes, the new 2005 Samsung HL-R5067 DLP TV. I am one of the few people to get the first order of these TVs. I would highly recommed this TV. I think I am moving off the track here..Let me talk about the stand.Pros: This stand is a perfect fit for 2005 Samsung 42,50,56 DLP TVs. The stand and the speaker color match so perfectly that the you think that the stand is part of the TV. Also the stand is adjustable, so it fits all the above series. After you build the stand matching your TV size you can actually see that edge of the TV aligns perfectly with the TV. I would highly recommend not to use the previous version of the samsung stand TR63. This stand fits only the HLP series. Cons: 1. The previous TR63 model had a door behind the stand, this way you can actually hide the wires running behind the TV. This model do not have the door, instead they provide a strap that you can fix to the back of the stand... which looks very bad. 2. The two glass shelfs that holds that your Receiver, DVD player is placed on two rods connected from behind. I am not sure how much weight they can hold. 3. Also the glass shelfs are smaller (width) and do not run all the way across the stand. So you cannot put two devices next to each other. You have to put them on top of each other. Overall I am having a good experience with my new TV and Stand. **** - 4 Stars

Same engineering difficulty as earlier,

This review is from: Samsung TR46X3 46" to 56" TV Stand (Electronics)
I bought my 56" TV and stand back in December and noticed the sagging about 3 weeks later. Didn't think anything of it until more recently when I noticed the 4:3 picture start to curve inward slightly. There's no picture distortion of any kind but, it should definitely be a straight vertical on both sides of the screen. I called Best Buy to schedule a service call since I bought the 4 year plan and then things went downhill. First they sent me to a repair shop that didn't even handle Samsung. I called Best Buy back and they then told me I'd have to go through Samsung since it was more of a stand defect than a TV defect (despite the fact that my TV has a bend in it). Samsung got me in touch with another repair shop that said they couldn't do anything because it was a stand issue. I called Samsung back who proceeded to tell me that since the defect is in the design of the stand, the 30 day warranty was well expired and they couldn't do anything for me. Outraged, I asked for someone higher than him and they had no idea what I was talking about (despite the other comments I've read online about the larger TV's sagging). They transferred me to a tier 3 tech support person at Samsung who was aware of the problem and then gave me the number to the manufacturer of the stand (Ameriwood) because they have some additional support for the stand to hold the weight of the larger TV. They were pretty cool on the phone and will be shipping those out to me.The new Samsung TV's no longer have this floating feature which is good - I wish I'd waited for the 2006 models to come out because I really don't care for the design anymore. But if you have the HLR-XX67W model TV and are looking for a stand, DO NOT BUY THIS ONE. Buy something that has full center support for the TV otherwise you run the risk of your TV sagging in the middle which will likely cause a myriad of other problems. For the more recent reviews, I'm curious if those who haven't had any problems is because they included the modification that my stand doesn't have or because the size of the TV is smaller. All I know is that at the bigger size, you run the risk of permanently damaging your $2000+ investment!

It's a little pricey and the 56inch I put on it does fit but you can pretty much push the TV right off if you're not careful. Watch out if you have kids - your expensive TV can go flying and the glass shelves are not good for kids who trip near it. I'm considering getting a kid proof screen to put around the base.

My recent purchase was simple and fast. The TV stand showed up earlier than expected. It was incredibly easy to assemble and is perfect with the Samsung TV I purchased. It's sturdy and hides the cords great. I wasn't able to find the stand locally and was very pleased when I found it on line at a great price. Convience is key and receiving a quality product makes it that much better.

I had very few choices for stands because I needed the TV to fit inside a given space and was limited by height. My 3 choices were a tech craft the samsung, or a piece of furniture. The samsung ended up being the best because it looks like part of the TV.The glass is sturdy and the rods hold decent weight so that there is no fear of having to heavy a receiver down there. If you remove the shelves you can even fit a small subwoofer below the TV. If you have the stand set at the narrowest setting like I do there is no concern of buckling, but I can see why people would hesitate if their TV is 50" or wider. The 'extensions' may not make for great support. We're happy with the stand because it does what it's supposed to do and was easy to set up. If only it came in wood finishes...

Fits and looks great,
This review is from: Samsung TR46X3 46" to 56" TV Stand (Electronics)
Overall, the stand fits my 56 Samsung perfectly. I have the stand for about 1 month now and am not seeing the sagging issue that other owners are. I think the got the updated model with the center enforcement. Goes great with these Samsung models.

Works as promised,
This review is from: Samsung TR46X3 46" to 56" TV Stand (Electronics)
I ordered the TR46X3 TV Stand for a Samsung 50" DLP TV (model HL-R5067W). While this stand is compatible with a number of Samsung DLP sets ranging from 46" to 56", a unique width adjustment part is included for each TV size supported. This provides the look of a "custom fit", regardless of the TV size. I was pleased with well written and easy to follow assembly instructions. My only complaint is that there is no way to lock or attach the TV to the stand (the TV simply sits on top of it).

I had to by this stand TR46X3 from another vendor as it was not available through Amazon. Its a good looking and well built stand. I don't see some of the stablity issues other people mentioned. I brought it for the Samsung HL-R5678W TV and it looks excellent.
