I bought this drive in the middle of March and installed it in my computer at about the beginning of April. The drive quit working by June. That's 3 months of use at most out of this peace of junk. I probably didn't get more then about 5 uses out of the drive before I couldn't even get it to respond to my computer. The place it came from only offers a 30 day return policy so now I'm stuck with it. I will be making a claim to Amazon I hope they do something for me. I wish I had kept my old drive at least it worked sometimes.

K I called to get authorized for an exchange of the first drive I recieved. I got great customer service and instruction for making the return. The turn around was great, in one week they had the drive and shipped me a new one that worked perfect. Now my girlfriend thinks I'm a hero for repairing her laptop and I found a great place to go for parts. Thanks Cbearcomputer @ Amazon

The drive was slightly to big for my laptop and it would not close properly. I clipped a small amount off the side of the door and it was fine. Works good. Because it was not the correct replacement for my dell 1525 I can see some of the drive when I flip the laptop over. The drive itself works fine.

Works perfectly in my dell. Fits slightly more inset than the stock drive that came with computer but I don't care about that any way. Sell sent item right away and was exactly as described.

I bought one of these last year for a friends laptop that needed repair. His drive was dead. This one replaced it and he is still using that laptop to this day with no trouble from the dvd-rom anymore.

I installed the drive in an external box and fit almost exactly. It is intended to use with my ultraportable Lenovo S10. I don't need to write dvd's just to read.

The front faceplate fell off, whatever was holding it on broke during shipping. This is only cosmetic though, the drive functioned as it should.

i bought this item after i thought it was my hard drive that was dead, but in fact my cd-rom drive was gone. When i figured this out, i made an easy order and had the product within a few days and my computer was up an running again
